It’s always a challenge to find a good general contractor, let alone finding a great general contractor. I learned the lesson the hard way and ended up having to fire my first general contractor during the complete gut out renovation of my condo at Seaholm. Enter Skelly Build to save the day! My experience with Diana (owner) and Lily (project manager) at Skelly Build cannot be more different from my first general contractor. Every component of the renovation required a high level of detail and skill – the installation of the Lutron / Ketra lighting, the technical challenges of installing the steam shower, the meticulous tile layouts … the list goes on and on. To add to their challenges, I have the curse of noticing every small imperfection. The Skelly Build team and their subcontractors were patient, accommodating and in constant communication with me every step of the way. Their subcontractors are the nicest people to work with as well, the electrician, the plumber, the tile installer, the painter …

Diana and Lily are not your typical contractor type, not only they can speak fluently on the technical aspect of the rennovation, they also have the eyes for style and beauty. They worked harmoniously with my interior design team to realize their vision and to solve any problem. I am super happy with the result and big thanks to the Skelly Build team.

Skellybuild hosts an annual community event at Lizard Yoga for their entire network. They are community leaders in their field as they bring builders and designers together through fun interactive events. Skellybuild team has been easy to work with. Clear communication, fun and ease. Solid group of integrous peeps!

I have worked with Skelly build on client projects as well as a personal project in my own home. Cannot recommend them enough! They are dedicated to high quality and getting it right. They have excellent project managers (hello Lily & Greg!) and I appreciate how thorough they are in documenting projects and making the process flow smoothly. My husband and I were thrilled with the results of our condo renovation project. Skelly Build has exceeded our expectations. They followed the process just as outlined on their website and contract. When unexpected situations arose, project manager Kristi exercised expert problem solving for prompt resolution.
Our project got off to a great start with the help of Lalita offering us guidance on design elements during the preconstruction phase. She was very detailed oriented, so there were no surprises with the defined project work, and she gave us pros and cons of some work we were thinking about including. Kudos to Katie on the procurement of the right size of Taj Mahal recommended by Lalita. It was beautiful in the bathrooms!
Our project manager Kristi then took over for the actual work. Kristi has been fantastic from beginning to end. She was such a great communicator and was onsite for much of the time to coordinate with subcontractors such as for shower doors and tiles and for delivery of our new appliances. These subcontractors were top notch and Skelly Build had a lot of experience with them. For our bathroom work, they were able to protect our floor and mirrors from damage which saved us money. We also used Skelly Build’s in-house cabinet team, and they did an excellent job. Kristi kept everything on track and made the process feel seamless.

Skelly Build is an excellent construction/contract company. We just recently completed our remodel with them of our entire downstairs (mainly kitchen) and it is truly breathtaking. Nelson was our project manager and he was extremely detailed, organized and kept the crew working for us. Meg had the opportunity to work with Skelly Build Project Manager, Carley Scott on a number of large complicated residential construction projects, and had been extremely impressed. Being an architect, I have pretty high expectations and our project required a very tight timeframe.

We asked Carley and the Skelly Build team to help on some significant renovations to a newly constructed home involving many significant exterior modifications as well as some detailed casework and trim on the interior. We are very pleased with the skill and the craftsmanship of the team that Skelly Build brought to our project. Max was professional repairman and he performed an great job. knowledgeable and had he needed was done in a timely order. Thank you Max for a great job.

Leonard was one of the best plumbers I’ve dealt with. Knowledgeable, respectful, professional. And kept things clean as he worked.

I contacted Paradise with multiple problems I was putting off. Raymond O. Came out the same day and was helpful in finding the cause and explaining why these things happend and what was needed to make a repair. The crew was polite and above all clean. I will be contacting in the future should I need any additional repairs.

It appears that Devin & Sons may have gone out of business and someone took over their phone number. Tried calling and had someone answer "Would you like to speak to a plumber?" I said "Yes" and was transferred to Benjamin Franklin plumbing!? Then I tried calling again and said I was trying to reach Devin & Sons and was hung up on. A third call and the phone number was no longer in service.

Very weird.

If they ever show up I may update this review. Called Saturday, got an appointment for 2-5 on monday. They took my credit card information to book this time slot. Never showed up monday, never called. I called the office was told someone would call me back with an update. They never called back. At 8pm I spoke to the dispatcher who made another appt for today from 8am-11 and told me a manager would reach out. I never received an update. 10 am I called again to check, and was told the technician would be calling me. 11am Still did not receive any update and still no plumber. The update is now that they will again call me with a new time. Do not recommend at all.

Updating: not only did they never call me or show up, they charged me for the visit. And now supposedly will refund my money in 3-5 days.

Diego Minetree was wonderful! He arrived out the same day I contacted for work and made right. He was and professional and patiently explained everything he did. I hope we see him again the next time we need plumbing services!

I also posted this on Strand Brothers since that's where calling Devin & Sons on a Sunday dispatched us to.
Hired because they had good Google reviews and were based close to our house. Do not recommend for water heater issues but also probably not for anything else. Water heater broken Friday, attempted relighting pilot light several times before giving in and seeking a pro. Called Saturday, no answer. Figure it's Veteran's day so we need to wait. Called Sunday morning, left # but no call back. Called Sunday around 1pm, appointment scheduled for 2pm, $99 visit fee(!). Call at 3:30 (1.5 hours after scheduled time) "oh no, we were sending a plumber but you need someone for a furnace" "no, we need a plumber for a water heater" "oh okay, they're on their way". Call at 3:55 from tech, dispatcher wrote down wrong address (happens but not surprising given the issues thus far). Tech arrives, without inspecting the machine, says "$200 to *attempt* to light the pilot light" -- on top of $99 visit fee. We say we already know it's not going to light so can you just figure out why it's not lighting. Guess that's not allowed. Tech, realizing we are very annoyed and not going to give his company any more money, attempts the pilot light for free (good on him, we appreciated that). Fails and confirms it would have been $200 down the drain on top of the $99 already down the drain. Nice tech, but very annoying experience with this company. Have since learned Doug the Plumber and Champion will send out plumbers for free estimates.

i've been using this plumbing service for years. i choose them because they're real pros who show up when they say they will, do the job they promised, and always leave my place looking better than it was before. today, colin came to put in a new shower head. he took the time to hear about what we had tried to do ourselves and then walked us through how he planned to finish the job. he even took care of getting rid of the old shower head and its packaging. whether it's pest control, gardening, electrical work or plumbing - they've handled it all for me over time.
