Had a really fun time exploring all of the different plants they had, this place was so much bigger than what I was expecting, Mark was such an awesome person, he gave me amazing advice on how to pot my succulent and even how to start a pot with three different type of plants!! 10/10 definitely will be back!!

During a tough stretch for our family, as we have been contending with some health related issues, we reached out to The Great Outdoors with the hope that we might find some Christmas elves who could help us with a Christmas tree. Most years, we like to source and cut down our own tree but we were not leaving the house and didn't have the bandwidth to follow through on that tradition this year. Madison took our call, found us the perfect tree (meeting our few specifications to a T) and arranged for a delivery on the same day we called. Our delivery team was jovial, upbeat and so helpful, making sure the tree was secure in our stand and in a solid place out of doors in case we were able to bring it inside when the time was right. In the end, it has been the most lovely of Christmas trees and we think of our friends at The Great Outdoors who did their part to make sure we were able to enjoy a cozy Christmas even in the middle of our hiccups in health. Thank you, to all, for the holiday cheer, support and grace throughout this mission and happy new year! We hope to be in soon to thank you in person.

The Great Outdoors is like visiting the botanical gardens for free and you go home with some treasures for your plant family. They just had a new shipment of plants (August 16, 2025). The health and selection of greenery is unbelievable. We had to come back the next day to see what else they added and make some purchases for our green family. I found the rare Sansevieria Whale Fin and the Hoya Kerrii Variegated to add to my collection. We will definitely be back in a couple of days.

My first experience here was great! I came in looking for a few specific plants. I found some but I decided to pass when I saw a beautiful Tricolor, and a few other beautiful plants. I will absolutely come back. This is a great place to visit. Plus its not too hot right now. I forgot to take pictures plants while I was there but this is the beautiful Tricolor when I got home.

This is a really nice garden center. I've visited here a lot with my mom over the years. She's the gardener in the family. They always have a wide variety of plants and garden items. The plants are well cared for and the employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. I also love that they are dog friendly. I've brought my dog many times as well.

I’ve been using Stronger Than Dirt for several months now to maintain my small courtyard and are very happy with their work. Julie, Mae and their capable team handle all my gardening needs, including flower and plant selection and installation, fertilizing, trimming wall ivy and bushes, and providing gardening advice as needed. They’re a good crew to work with and I recommend them highly.

We are located in South Austin and have been using Stronger Than Dirt for years. Without them our yard would look like a jungle! They maintain our yard impeccably; we've even earned our neighborhood's 'Yard of the Month" award. Oh and not to mention everyone that there is so nice and respectful of our family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

They charge enormous amount of money Fr very little value. Lacks hearty personable service. It’s all about ‘charging money’. Nothing more. Wasted money Fr very little to show. They simply don’t care about their customers.

They have been maintaining my property for 10 years. They are knowledgeable about all aspects of gardening, reliable and respectful. My place is beautiful, thanks to them.

Worst gardening service we’ve experienced. First meeting and follow up proposal was fine, but the work didn’t match the proposal, tripling the cost estimate before they’d completed the front yard. They were not interested in our concerns, only charging as much as possible, even $50 an hour to come out and meet us to go over their mistakes. No customer service at all!

I have worked with Julie for over 20 years. She and her crew have done beautiful work for me at two different houses in Pemberton and my current house in Clarksville. I can’t recommend her more highly.

This team knows their plants! I've used them to design and embellish my gardens with new and interesting plants. They also do garden maintenance throughout the seasons, keeping my gardens healthy and vibrant. Love their work!

The crew from Stronger than Dirt worked on my front yard garden today. I found the crew to be very friendly, conscientious, hard workers who are knowledgable about my plants. This is the second year that Stronger than Dirt has prepared my yard for spring and I will certainly call them again.

Stronger than Dirt listened to what we wanted and had great ideas to make it work. They do a beautiful job caring for our plants and our yard has never looked better. They have our backs during freezes, both in making sure we know what to do and in coming around to cover plants that need it.

My day is brighter when Stronger Than Dirt arrives at my home. Stronger Than Dirt has been caring for my garden for over 11 years. They know when to prune, weed and mulch. They do everything with loving care and always attentive to my needs.

The Stronger than Dirt crew did a full clean up including plant cutbacks and complete mulch service at our house and we couldn't be more happy with the result. Great attitudes and great attention to detail. Highly recommend.

STD did some preliminary work on my front yard, waiting for warmer weather for planting. They are good communicators and very responsive. They made excellent recommendations for other services that are beyond their scope ( hard scape and irrigation.) They did lovely work at my sisters house in my same neighborhood (Pemberton.)
In follow up to the above, STD finished my front yard plantings including finding some lovely Japanese maples that were a great price. They took the initiative to change out some plants in an area that wasn't thriving after about a year. And they have worked on garden maintenance for the past 2 years, demonstrating hard work and forethought to keep everything looking great. They have added watering to help establish new plants when rainfall did not cooperate. I am very pleased. I live in Pemberton.

I have worked with Julie and her crew over the past 15-20 years. I loved supporting a woman owned business and working with a Julie. Her integrity and work ethic are impeccable. If she said she would do something she did. Her quality and the quality of the majority of her crew members was such that I never worried about my property. The women who came to work at my house and now my condo were great and pleasant and seemed to appreciate and enjoy their work.

I have used Stronger Than Dirt for several years at my half-acre property which is mostly native plants and oak mottes. They prune and weed about 3 times a year. They have also planted many native species and offer good suggestions for new plants. I appreciate the work ethic of the crews they have sent and the care with which they treat the garden. The management team does provide direction and inspection. The crews also clean up VERY well, which is especially nice after extensive mulching once a year! I plan on continuing to have this knowledgeable and hard-working group back every year.
