Wellspring has been fantastic for us over the pst several years for both regular lawn maintenance and special landscape clean up projects. Their crews are reliable, friendly, accommodating to our requests and leave our property looking great. Kirk and his office also do a wonderful job at proactively informing their clients about holiday schedules, as well as upcoming cold weather and offering preparation tips. I highly recommend Wellspring!

I requested an estimate with Wellspring based on the positive feedback I'd read online. I originally requested the estimate early Monday morning explaining I need mowing & small brush pickup by the weekend. I was told they would call or email me with estimate shortly. After not hearing from them by Wed, I called back to follow up and was told they must have had a wrong phone number and email address on file. Ok, that happens (even though we confirmed my contact info over the phone). David finally calls me later Wed afternoon where I explain again the service I need for a property I recently moved out of...he advises he'll be out to the house and will contact me with an estimate, which was basically the same conversation I had on Mon. Friday rolls around...no call. I had to follow up AGAIN for my estimate and was told they plan on being out there to check the property same day. Come 3 pm on Friday, I finally receive my estimate with several items tacked on that I did not request over the phone. My estimate drops from $650 to $466. After being advised it's $40 for the mow, the rest is pickup and hauling, I request the mow, as it's at least SOMETHING I can get done before the weekend. Nope, can't do that either, as the excuse provided was they use commercial mowers and the leaves will leave a mess if not picked up and hauled off first. So from Mon morning to Friday afternoon I have nothing done and now have to ask a friend to help last minute, as I no longer live in the area. I'm sure Wellspring does a great job once the job begins, but the service I received and time it took just to get an estimate was nowhere near what was advertised on their website.

I've used Wellspring for 10 years. Consistently pleased with their service and responsiveness. The crew of Brian, Tyler and Mark were on site this past Saturday to clean up all the dead plants from our terrible winter. Friendly. Knowledgeable and responsive. Great crew!

We have used a variety of different landscape companies in Austin, from small family owned companies to large companies who claim to have the best service in the area. Unfortunately, we were consistently disappointed after just a few weeks. That is until we found Kirk and Wellspring Landscape Services. If I have a request, I get the owner on the phone immediately, and my requests are satisfied promptly. They never miss a week, they never miss a request for service, and our lawns and gardens are manicured exactly as we love. They are the best that we have found in Austin, and I would highly recommend them!

Wellspring provides quality lawn care with punctuality and responsiveness. I have used them for almost a year for a biweekly mow for my lawn.

During the latest winter storm, a decent sized tree branch fell into the yard and was blocking my neighbor's front door. Wellspring responded right away when I called, and they got the branch cleared out ahead of schedule.

The only issue I have had was some confusion over the pricing in regard to this work, and Wellspring righted the wrong by giving me some credit towards my future lawn work. They cleared up all confusion by escalating the issue and giving me a call to talk about it.

We have been a customer for 4+ years now. Not only do they do a terrific job in maintaining our lawn and plants, but the friendliness of Kirk and others in the office make it an enjoyable experience. They have often been flexible in pulling in or pushing out a service so that our landscape looks extra nice just before we have guests or an event at our home. Also their price is very reasonable and comparable to other companies we had contacted in the past. We would highly recommend Wellspring Landscape!

Man's got the knowledge and care when it comes to his work and Job. Incredible work ethic and great attitude. Great service at an Honest price. Highly recommend!

I began using Wellspring at the recommendation of a friend last year after hit or miss service with another company. The service and responsiveness has been exceptional and the pricing is very reasonable. I also like that I can pay by credit card and not have to worry about having cash around. I have 3 large trees in my front yard and when it came to doing leaf clean up, the team was excellent, in addition to their regular mowing services.

We have been a customer of Wellspring for 5 years and are extremely happy with the work they have done. They have provided lawn care on a consistent basis at the highest quality. As Kirk will tell you, I am very picky about how my lawn looks and his team doesn't disappoint.

The same crew does my lawn every week so, I can count on it being done right. Wellspring also does major fall and spring cleanups for me to keep the landscaping looking its best. Kirk and his crew are extremely friendly and professional!!!

EDIT 2: After just another 4 months of using Wellspring after giving them another chance and I am going back to my original 1-star review and will NEVER use them again. After days of not receiving service with no communication, I reached out to see what was going on. Leigh told me that my service was delayed a day due to the holiday, which was fine. The next day, nothing. So I reached out again and Leigh told me that they couldn’t make it and would definitely be there tomorrow. Well guess what? It’s tomorrow and there has been no communication and no one has shown up. I’m done and will be looking for a more consistent service with better communication.

EDIT: They reached out after this review and asked to fix the issue. Within a couple of days (it was the weekend) I had a new quote and they came out and performed the services within a few days of that. The cleanup/landscaping work they did was all good - no complaints there. The tree-trimming they did was ok, except I'm not sure they have much experience with fruit trees as they did not trim any of the new growth or tall branches on the peach trees, just pruned it for canopy.

I’ve been using Wellspring for about a year now. Their regular, basic lawn service is reliable and affordable, and the quality is fine.

However, I would not recommend any additional services. I requested landscape cleanup and tree trimming services from them. It took them weeks to even send someone out to be able to provide an estimate. Then after they finally came out, they kept saying the would provide an estimate “tomorrow” but never did. I finally told them to forget about it, and Daisy sent back a kind of snotty reply. It seems clear that they are simply another Austin lawn and landscape company that has more business than they can handle and aren’t interested in growing any more.

We've been using Wellspring Landscape Services for a few months for lawn care. They are a fantastic, responsive service company with excellent communication. After the week of unprecedented cold & snow, many of our plants needed pruning, and our yard needed clean up. We reached out to Wellspring for help, and I couldn't be happier! The process started with Dixie's thorough assessment of every plant on our property. She came out to the house, walked the property, and provided education and recommendations for getting our landscaping looking healthy again and ready for spring! We were promptly added to the schedule and, on the day of the job, David and Travis showed up right on time, worked hard, and left the yard and landscaping looking great! Highly recommended!

Really can't gives enough kudos here for these folks. The services are affordable, and my lawn always looks immaculate after the Wellspring guys in green stop by. On the rare occasion that my lawn care service will be late, due to weather or other natural occurrences, they always inform me before I even remember I'm due. And Leigh, the exceptionally lovely admin, is kind, always pleasant to chat with, and incredibly attentive.

Seriously, if you want a lawn service that is top quality and won't add any stress to your life, hire Wellspring.

Wellspring is a great company to work with. We have a large yard that does not need to be mowed a lot. We have a schedule with Wellspring, but they have always been accommodating and easy to work with when we have not needed service. They are thorough in the mowing and edging. They have also done good work cleaning up our yard (like after freezes). I am comfortable with the communication with the main office, if any issues did arise.

When Greener Pastures sold (who were excellent communicators and punctual - I miss them) Wellspring took over their clientele. The communication with Wellspring was poor and the billing and notice of services was inconsistent. I reached out to customer service to shed light on the issues and cancel my service and the CS representative did not even attempt to acknowledge the errors that were made.

On a positive note, the Wellspring crew does excellent work on landscaping and pruning. I wish the communication and billing had been better but alas this company did not meet my expectations.

Wellspring has done a fantastic job. The team is very dependable, and if something goes awry and they need to reschedule, I hear about it well in advance. What used to take me easily 2 hours by myself is done in less than 30 minutes, and is a far nicer and neater job than I could ever do myself. I only wish I could have worked with this team sooner. Thank you for great service and great communication!

We have been very satisfied with Wellspring Landscape Services. After being unsatisfied after using other yard companies in the past, it's very refreshing to finally have a company that shows up on time, has fair prices, and does a fabulous job. They are very easy to communicate with over email and by phone and are incredibly responsive to any needs that arise. Our yard always looks wonderful and the crew is always very diligent and hard working while they are here. I would highly recommend Wellspring to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy lawn company!

I have tried so many landscaping services throughout my time here in Austin...none of which I would ever recommend! Wellspring Landscape Services was a true God send! They work extremely hard on my large property, respect the integrity of the community, and they provide unbelievable personal support from their customer service. Only the best work with the best as I always say! Will is one of the coordinators at their home office. He is super kind, knowledgeable, and quick to get back to you! The best part of this company is having the ability to speak with Kirk Slack, the owner and founder of the company. He is available to discuss any of your landscaping concerns. He has done amazing work on my property and has even communicated with our HOA on my behalf to ensure a successfully approved project. He is one of the nicest guys I know here in Austin and he is very reasonable and considers his clients and their pets like family. If you are looking for a company that actually caters to their customers and want what’s best for them in their busy lives...look no further.

I would be wary of using their services. On two separate occasions, my sprinkler line has been cut by their machines. Even though she offered to have them come and look at it to make sure that it was their fault, I had already had it replaced. And then, their weedeater literally ripped off four branches of my hibiscus plant. Normally, that wouldn’t be a big deal, however, I’m not a plant person and I have been able to keep that plant alive for over a year. It’s very disappointing.

***Changed to three stars thanks to Will for calling me and advocating for change to be done for the business. I’m hoping to try this company out again soon.

It makes me sad to give a one star rating to a company that is spoken so highly of, I looked forward to having services completed by Wellspring but from the start it’s been nothing but stressful and miscommunication. They discussed with me weeding services and mowing. The weeds in my backyard were grown very high and my husband and I needed someone to come out and pull them and treat our yard. On the phone they took my card info and address and signed me up for weeding services, I never heard back about scheduling so I reached out again and was told I couldn’t do just weeding services, I had to have their mowing services included too. So I said fine and figured it would work out in the long run because I will need mowers in the spring. They also had someone come out to my house who asked me if I wanted my flower beds done. I said I would consider it but mentioned once again, my only concern is the weeds in my backyard. I talked to three different people, one woman and two men about wanting the weeds in my backyard done so I was very upfront from the start. They send their guys out to my house, they mow the front yard and leave. Don’t even come into my backyard. I called them, the man on the phone said they came out to mow and do the weeding in my front flower bed, there was only grass in the flower bed not weeds and I said I would consider that service, not that I wanted it. So that was where more miscommunication happened. They tried to help and sent their guys back out to me and then they mowed my backyard and cut down the weeds but did not pull them or clean up their clippings. So now my yard still has weeds everywhere in the ground, clippings all over my yard, and a lawn mowed that didn’t really need to be mowed. I called frustrated again and the first person to ever say this to me was that they “only treat weeds in flower beds.” Well nice to know now. Never would’ve contacted the business in the first place. I have never seen a more disorganized business and lack of understanding for consumers needs. Sad to not have the experience others had. at least I got 50% off on the charge for the weeding services for the inconvenience and miscommunication. Definitely taking my business elsewhere.
