Sean with Good Guys was a huge help in identifying some non-issue fungus growing on our Mexican sycamore. Super friendly service and great recommendations on how to keep the tree growing healthy for many years to come. Will definitely recommend him for anyone needing a certified Arborist!

Highly recommend this business! Jose was incredibly knowledgeable of what I needed, understood my concerns and listened to my input on how I wanted the trees to turn out; the execution of it was very easy, the team was very polite and overall did a phenomenal job! My trees look great, are healthy, and the trimming is encouraging them to grow.

We used Good Guys Tree Service in March to take down a tree that had the roots exposed due to the drought the last few years & being too close to the driveway. They guys were very efficient & cleaned up everything after. A separate guy came to do the stump removal a few days later. We ended up calling Sean @ Good Guys again at the beginning of April for another trimming in the back yard for a tree that was way over our property line causing issues with our Crepe Myrtle’s. They again did a great job! Sean even took the time to go over tips for the new tree we planted to replace the one in the front yard. Both jobs were fairly priced & he even gave us a military discount. I would use them again for any future needs.

The Good Guys Tree Service did an amazing job! They were professional, friendly, and really took the time to make sure everything was done safely and neatly. My yard looks fantastic, and they cleaned up so well you’d never know there had been any tree work done. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and honest tree service!

They did a good job and would use them again. The only reason I gave a 4 and not a 5. I was told they would bill me and I had 30 days to pay. And not even a week later Someone called and told me I hadn't paid yet. And I told him what I was told and he was not too happy about it. I could've paid right then in there but because of that phone call, I decided to wait till about the 28th day pay. Other than that, I still had a good experience and would use them again. This was several years ago that I used them.

Great work. 3 large trees (20 year) needed clean up and raising of canopy, as well as 3 additional full tree removals. Work was completed as estimated and at the price proposed. The scheduler called 1 day in advance, as previously explained, and on date of visit workers verified the work, completed all assigned work and cleaned up extremely well to where there was minimal to no debris remaining. Very impressed. Additionally, I had lots of surrounding landscaping and the crew worked very carefully to work around all landscaping. Again very impressed. I would definitely recommend Mr. Don Boyd and his team. They were quick, professional looking, knew exactly what each team member was suppose to do and everyone did it well. Overall price appears to have been a bargain when compared to 3 other well named companies. The other estimators that visited were not as professional or knowledgeable. Don answered all my questions, being very knowledgeable about trees, types of tree cuts etc. I have a follow up work to mom's south Austin, 150+ year old tall oak trees for pruning. They did that good of a job.

I gathered several quotes because I take the health of my trees very seriously. I contacted Good Guys Tree Service and was immediately greeted with enthusiasm, professionalism, excellent price PLUS an ISA Certified Arborist (Sean Hager). Sean came to my home, listened to my concerns, walked my yard and respected what I wanted. Everyone that I spoke to from Sean, to the office, to the guys working the job are professional, friendly and diligently hard working people. I feel comfortable with the time and high quality care that they took with my trees.

Don Boyd and his crews are great! Don came out to give us a quote on some trimming work and the removal of a dead tree. He was thorough in his explanation of what we needed and got a crew out to do the work within a few days. The crew was professional and friendly and did a great job with clean up. We then had a tree limb come down on our house, necessitating the removal of that tree. He came out immediately and had the work again scheduled very quickly. Excellent business and we will absolutely use them again.

The beloved tree company called Good Guys Tree Service was recently purchased by a national company called "Tree Guardians" who is buying up local tree service companies all over the U.S. so they can outbid the local businesses and put them out of business. When they bought "Good Guys", part of the contract was to keep the buyout secret so that the former customers wouldn't know. This is corporate greed at it's worst. I recently attempted to procure their services but they were so rude and unaccomodating that I went with a different tree service. Being a true "local" company, they were much nicer, more knowledgeable, more professional and far less greed driven than the current version of "Good Guys". Please don't give this greedy national corporation your money. There are plenty of local businesses and individuals who can offer better service with much friendlier business practices that don't harm local economies!

Sean the arborist came out initially. Told me what should be done and why. Very professional and knowledgeable. Crew showed up on time . Did the excellent trimming job cleaned up very nicely and finished very quickly. Will use these folks again and refer to all my friends. Special thanks to Sean. All crew members very nice also. Could not be happier with Good Guys Tree Service from start to finish. They came highly recommended from a friend who has used them for years on many homes and they didn’t disappoint.

From Michael’s first visit, he was on time, professional, explained everything well, worked with us to meet our budget and answered every question. On removal day they showed up and put on a show. 8 guys showed up with Michael and a supervisor to do a walk through and make sure we were all on the same page. In only one hour they removed a 12” cedar elm, trimmed 3 large trees over our roof, hauled everything off and cleaned up everything on the ground. We couldn’t believe how fast and efficient they were. We just sat in the window and watched in awe.

If you need your trees trimmed or removed, there’s no other company you should look at. Worth the money.

We used them back in June for our house in RR for a small job in our back yard. Then again for another home we own in the area given how impressed we were with Jose (Meza). Jose knows his stuff…from trees (types), to bushes to vines; he is the most knowledgeable arborist I’ve ever come across! Not only did we feel good about the whys of removing certain trees/limbs, but also what trees are good to those that aren’t and the need to remove them so that the ones that you want to survive do!

After taking to Jose, the service is booked rather quickly and they get their teams engaged ASAP. Our most recent experience with them, we met with Jose on a Tuesday and the crew was out on Friday the same week. We had A TON of trees/branches removed (the yard hadn’t been kept up in over 8 years), and Good Guys had this knocked out in under 4 hours. It was nothing short of amazing!

They make sure you are happy with the work before closing the job. You walk around the property with them and if there is anything else you would like/need removed, they do it on the spot.

We can’t say enough about the company/service we have received and we have no doubt that you are in very capable hands with Good Guys!! We will use them for all of our work in the future!

We used Good Guys tree service for trimming three large pecans and a deep fertilization of some new trees we recently planted. The crew did an amazing job and they worked so fast! They arrived when I wasn't home but waited a few minutes for me to arrive so we could look at a few things and were so kind to take care of a few more trimmings. We worked with Sean to get our estimate and I really appreciated his knowledge and thorough explanation of what they were going to do. Sean shared some additional things we could consider but I never felt pressured to add any services. You get a discount if you book directly with Sean and another discount if you mention a crew leader. We had Trey Harris as our crew leader and he was amazing! He had a great repertoire with his team and was lovely to work with from the client side. Our trees look extra lovely, nicely shaped, and healthier than ever - Thanks to the good guys!

Good Guys Tree Service are awesome! I had an emergency situation that needed to be addressed as soon as possible, and Melanie was very courteous and accommodating when I called. She arranged for an arborist to come out within hours of my call. I really appreciate all the kind help and her willingness to work around my concerns. Melanie is the type of person you want on the other side of the phone—so nice and helpful.
I was also able to discuss my concerns with Sean, the arborist, before his visit. After exchanging a few photos and talking about the tree species, we realized that my "emergency" concern about the tree's health was actually just a normal part of the tree's cycle. Sean was very patient with all of my questions and carefully reviewed and researched my situation. He was able to put our minds at ease that the tree should be just fine.

I obtained five quotes for this project—two on the low end and three significantly higher, with the highest nearly three times the lowest. I ultimately selected the highest bid, Good Guys, and I would make the same decision again without hesitation.

The scope of work included removal of one very large Cedar Elm, removal of one side of two bifurcated Cedar Elms, additional pruning, grinding of one stump, and complete cleanup and haul-away. The original six-person crew was supplemented by three additional workers, and the entire job (excluding stump grinding) was completed in just 2½ hours. The stump grinding was performed later the same day and took approximately 30 minutes.

Everything that was promised—including providing insurance documentation naming me as an additional insured—was delivered exactly as agreed. The crew was professional, efficient, and courteous throughout the process. I am confident I made the right decision in engaging Good Guys and would recommend them without reservation.

I recently had Sean and his crew come out to do a fairly extensive amount of work, including cutting away some live oaks that had grown and begun making contact with the roof of the house, as well as do some shaded fire-break work to several cedars on the property. His crew arrived, let me know they were ready to go, and immediately got to work. Sean arrived shortly after they began, and we walked the property together. He was both (i) incredibly knowledgeable (as one might expect from an expert arborist), and (ii) friendly, professional, and flexible.

As we walked the property and discussed options, we decided to do a few things we hadn't previously discussed, and he happily had his crew execute the couple of additional items on the spot. I had a great time getting to know him and learning a few things along the way.

We are very pleased with the work on our trees by Good Guys tree service and we worked with Sean Hager regarding our needs. Sean was very helpful in explaining our options and how we might help trees still recovering from the freezes a couple years ago. I knew of their wonderful work along the LCRA property on Lake Austin Blvd. And this made the choice selecting them for the job very easy.

The work was completed quickly and clean up was a breeze. We are very happy with the results. I’m sharing pictures of my trees and in 60-90 days will update my review to show the progress on trees when they leaf out.

Chris and his crew from Good Guys Tree Service were great. Chris provided a clear, detailed, and well-explained estimate, including proof of insurance. Today, a large, well-coordinated crew arrived and worked incredibly efficiently. They completed the job much faster than I expected.
