I understand why these guys have such positive reviews! I had Daniel and his crew out earlier today to clean up a few oak trees on my property. The entire crew worked very hard, and were respectful of my property. I was very pleased with the end result. Would definitely recommend!

Our third time using Sid Mourning for our tree service. They are phenomenal. They came to work. Did an amazing job and left everything spotless. I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.

We had extensive trimming and a large tree removal done by Sid Mourning. They did a fantastic job, very thorough and responsive, and did it all at an incredibly competitive price. Highly recommend.

I haven't called around for bids for years. I learned, and now just always go with Sid and his team. He is fair with me and I am fair with him. Before my most recent tree removal this week, last fall I had my old Southern Ash removed while I was on a work trip. I occasionally watched them on the cameras (in fear since they climb, cut, and lower via rope—it's very scary to me) and they called me when had questions or wanted clarifications. Recently, due to the huge rains and the fact our very large Hackberry is past prime had them cut down this week. In prior years I had them come out every couple years or so to trim so that this very large tree would stay healthy and would have less of a chance of falling on mine or my neighbors home. Looking at the cuts of the trunk the last couple of days we were surprised at how healthy the tree was in parts, albeit some very bad spots. Anyway, Pedro and his team did more than I what we asked, cutting some small branches away from our power lines. Frankly, I wouldn't trust anyone else. They know me, my property and my trees and I know them.

They are THE BEST. I had a giant hackberry looming over my house & backyard which really needed to come down. Sid and his crew artfully decommissioned them without disturbing a thing. Excellent price for how much work was done! Love y’all!

Sid Mourning came and cleaned up our tree canopy and removed two trees. Great work done quickly. We had some remaining tree damage from the ice storm and it helped us to further limit potential damage from wild fire risk from cedar trees as well.

Sid Mourning always does a terrific job, no matter what the project. I have had them do everything from remove a tree to trim a tree, and lots in between. They are fast, professional, conscientious (they always take care not to damage my garden flowers and shrubs), and they do a super clean-up afterwards. I'm sure there are other companies that are cheaper, but I have found you get what you pay for -- and with Sid Mourning Tree Service you get good service AND peace of mind that the job will be done well.

Mariano and team did an exceptional job trimming up multiple trees and removing one large fallen branch from another tree. Highly recommend. Entire team and staff were super friendly.

They did excellent work and cleaned everything up.

They shaped the ice storm damaged trees to maintain their beauty and cleaned the mess off of the roof some of which was there before they came.

Very pleased with the work! Will use again and recommend!

Update: The manager, Kristy, contacted me to offer a full refund of our job. She was very attentive and apologetic and I greatly appreciated the level of customer service after this experience. While I can't speak if my situation was a one time issue with the quality of their work, I can attest that they will go above and beyond to resolve any issues!

Original post: Do not trust this company to prune your oak trees!!! They initially sent an arborist to discuss/quote my project, however, the crew that arrives is not led by an arborist OR properly trained in trimming the trees. I have attached a picture of just one of the examples of what we were left with after a hefty $700 minimum fee for storm damage cleanup. I have learned from my arborist (second opinion - since i no longer trust this company) that this is a flesh cut (way too close to trunk - not proper) instead of a proper branch cut. Essentially, they cut the branch collar which is important for a healthy tree. This is extremely upsetting as they are not only one of the highest rated companies, but also the most expensive option. I trusted them to do quality work and they were unable to provide it. The only positive I have to say about this company is the hard working guys that came out to try to help me get my money's worth on the ridiculous $700 minimum fee. (they went above and beyond to fill the allotted 3 hr minimum with extra landscaping tasks) However, the company does not seem to provide their employees the proper training or tools with the oaks! I never write reviews, but I have great concern that this company shows up as one of the highest rated in Austin but provides such poor quality of work. I hope others also speak up to also hold this company accountable!!

Honestly I was skeptical but their quote was considerably less than the others we had received.
Sid arrived (he’s a character) and spent about 20 minutes telling us what was gonna happen and what his crews were going to do and then just like that he was off after a handshake and a card.
This evening after all the work I don’t think my trees have ever looked this good. We’ve had work done before but nothing like this.
They were faster.
They were better.
They were less expensive
And
The yard was clean when they left AND they hauled off the Xmas tree on the side of the house!

Always a great experience. Very responsive and good with communicating updates, including scheduling. The crew assigned also does a great job.

Sid Mourning and team is incredible. I had a HUGE pecan tree that we build our house around. Well it got struck by lightning, and died. Sid and team gave a great price and had a wonderful team remove the tree.
We are so sorry to see the tree go but so happy we had Sid and team do our work.

Alex and his crew did an excellent job. They were on time, clean, and Alex was careful to go over the work being done. If I need tree work in the future, I will go with Sid Mourning.

I've attached some pictures. I would like to note that one tree looks very sparse. This is because the tree already had major issues and I'm trying to save it, they did the best they could and I'm hopeful the tree will recover.

I had a great experience with Sid Mourning Tree Service Inc. It started with a prompt, friendly, and informative arborist visit to assess a problem tree whose roots had damaged my sewer line. The quote was very reasonable, and they were able to coordinate the service within the short time frame I had to get my sewer line repaired.

The crew showed up the same day as the plumbers and got everything done: tree removal, stump grinding, and pruning trees overlapping my home and fence, so the sewer work could begin without delay. The crew was fantastic! Hardworking, efficient, and well organized. The foreman walked me through the completed work to ensure I was satisfied and didn’t need anything else before they left. I even noticed they shaped up my back shrubs, which was a thoughtful and much appreciated touch. Everything looks great! I’m very happy with the results.

From the quote to the completed job, the process was smooth and fast. They were responsive, professional, and easy to work with. I’ll definitely use them again for future tree services.

I'm very satisfied with the tree trimming Sid Mourning tree service did today. Joaquin and 3 fellow workers came early and confirmed what was to be done. They worked continuously until lunch then back at it until completed. They cleaned up great and took everything away in a trailer. I wish I would have taken before and after photos because there is a huge difference. The entire team from the office staff to the arborist were all professional. I highly recommend Sid Mourning Tree Service.

Great folks to do business with! Both the crew and office staff were pleasant to work with. They kept us informed at every turn. Had to reschedule due to weather. They took care of us and did a great job!

These people are incompetent. I tried to get an estimate for work at one of my properties, but was stood up. The window for their call 30 minutes before the estimator was to arrive was wide, but they never called. This ruined my whole day's plans, but they apologized and rescheduled. Again, I was to meet the estimator to specify what I wanted done. Nope. Stood up again. Screw these guys. Then, a month later, I get an invoice. ? I never even specified what work! I simply ignored the invoice, but the next day I get a voicemail saying the crew has arrived and is starting work. What? Now I waste more time trying to figure out what is going on. They claim someone approved the invoice, but I never even opened it. They can't tell me what is going on, but say they'll call me back. I'm not holding my breath. Avoid these people at all costs.

They did a quick and efficient job of trimming our huge Cedar Elm and asked if there was anything else I would want trimmed off of it before they left, which I appreciated. However, they did destroy half of one of our newly planted bushes and didn't tell me. It would have been nice if they just acknowledged it and apologized. I would have been understanding since I imagine it's hard to control where the giant tree branches fall. Overall though, they did well!

Excellent tree trimming service. They showed up on the morning promised, gave me a workable quote and had the guys doing the job at my house within a couple of hours.
They were professional, methodical & they cleaned up after themselves.
Highly recommend them!

Just had my two large oaks trimmed in my front yard. Daniel and his crew were superb! They arrived early and got to work quickly. Finished the job in less than two hours. My trees look so much better! They took the limbs back that were hanging over my garage and my neighbors house and the street. There is so much more light and space within the canopy. The entire crew was friendly and fast. They took great care not to smash or destroy my plants on the ground and cleaned up everything perfectly. I can't say enough good things about them or their work.
