We highly recommend Austin Creative Landscaping. Abey Bruce, the owner, was willing to come on to our rather large project that had been abandoned by another contractor. Abey and his team of very polite and hardworking guys proceeded to fix the poorly constructed deck and railing, clean out a lot of junk rock and cement that the other company left in our yard, construct beautiful stone retaining walls, construct a terraced, steel walkway, create a flat gravel area and flat lawn area with artificial turf, landscape the front, back and side including a gorgeous 10' steel trellis that Abey designed and suggested, and tear out and rework our driveway to be able to capture more pervious cover. They also tore out a concrete walkway and created a beautiful stone patio and walkway. The work included a beautiful lighting design and new irrigation. They took our extreme mess and totally transformed it all and made it beautiful in about 6 short weeks. Thank you Austin Creative Landscaping!

These people are wonderful. We recently hired them to make and implement a major residential landscaping plan for us. Marshall came out and really listened to what we had in mind. He then came back to us with a plan that incorporated all of our wishes and greatly exceeded what we thought was possible. His crew was great, and we are delighted with the landscape work they did. Marshall and Abey were very responsive to our questions and concerns. We could not be happier. We would highly recommend this company for anyone's landscaping needs.

We had a great experience with Austin Creative Landscaping. Abey helped us preserve the contemporary lines of our landscaping while making the necessary changes. The work was done in a timely fashion and when the weather caused delays, we were notified as to when work could resume. We were happy with the appearance of our backyard, but needed better drainage to prevent water from collecting under the house. We added french drains, adjusted the heavy steel edging, made the adjustments in the sprinkler system, and raised the contour of our yard to direct water in a different direction. The system is now working perfectly after being tested by two heavy rains. We are very pleased with the improvement in water flow and would recommend Austin Creative Landscaping without reservation.

Abey came out and did some general landscaping for us a few months after we moved into our home in Southwest Austin back in the summer of 2016. He and his crew cleaned up a lot of growth, trimmed the trees, and generally made our yard look great, just the way it was. I spoke to him about a plan for our back yard, which he was of course open to, but wisely gave me the advice to "wait a little while. Live in your house for six months or so, see how you use the space, and then let's design something that works." WOW. Someone not wanting my business at the expense of my long-term satisfaction?! You've got me. So, I was happy off the bat. Also, he was right! We needed to live here for a while to know our flow and desires.
Fast forward to now, we are one week into a month-long project with Austin Creative Landscaping! Abey has designed a great plan for our front yard, including an extended porch/sitting area. We live on a cul-de-sac, life happens out front, and we're happily going with it! In the back yard, grass won't grow, so we're doing a combination of pea gravel to house a play structure, and also artificial turf. We will leave a lot of our shade plants as-are, and he'll incorporate a few new things to make it more green and less mud. Finally, we're removing the deck, and adding a ground-level flagstone patio. We already discovered one carcass under the old deck, so are glad to have something that won't house the wildlife anymore!
Finally, I have to say that I truly feel like Abey is a steward of the earth. He is innovative, and creative, AND works with what's there. And with what's meant to be there. I love that he walks around, feels leaves, sticks his hands in the dirt, and knows instantly what's happening with the entire yard/soil/ecosystem. I don't want to overstate his knowledge, but I just think he really knows our area, and works hard to be good to it. His crew is extremely professional, clean, and communicative, even when Abey isn't there with them. I have enjoyed getting to know them, as well.
I'll post pics, if I can, of the before and afters. I wanted to write this review now, though, because I've been meaning to for over a year, and don't want another day to get away from me. Call Abey!

We could not have been happier with Abey and his crew at Austin Creative Landscaping. We were very hesitant about choosing our landscaper, as a large part of the work to be done was to fix structural issues from a recent landscaping job that didn't go well. We had no reason to worry. Abey delivered a beautiful plan for the backyard - he spent time making sure he understood exactly what issues we were having and how the yard would be used, and that it needed to support two high energy dogs He also sat with the space and really evaluated what was necessary and how to get the most out of our space. We ended up with a gorgeous space - it's incredibly functional (xeriscaping, artifical turf, as we requested), it's attractive - his eye for materials, scale, and layout are spot on - and, it has that little bit "extra". In our case, he recognized the happy bird habitat, and made sure our friendly family of cardinals would hang out with his friends. We were so happy with his plan for the backyard, that we expanded the project to include work in the front as well. He was patient with our numerous questions and concerns, and he repeatedly provided clear and rational answers and recommendations. Highly, highly recommend Abey and Austin Creative Landscaping!

Abey and his team deliver top quality results. They have done two projects for me. First, they did a lawn redo with a deck, large retaining wall, and new fence. Second, they did a shaded section of a side yard with astro turf. Both were done well and have made those spaces much more usable.

Working with Austin Creative Landscape was clear and easy. I was inspired by the photos on the website, and my project turned out even better! Abey has a beautiful sense of how to use space and make it beautiful. Very affordable as well! He kindly quoted different parts of the project, so now we can financially prepare for our next project phase in the front yard. I am recommending Austin Creative Landscaping to everyone!

We looked around for a while and feel we made a terrific choose by going with ACL. They listened to what we wanted and came up with a beautiful design, which we felt great about because their pricing was extremely fair/competitive. They tore up our old stuff and installed custom large steel planters in one day and came back the next day to put in our array of plants, rocks and mulch. The owner was on site throughout the project and seemed very invested in our happiness with the result. Their work speaks for itself but the rest of the process was great as well! We are already looking at using them for our backyard as well because we are so happy with the results!

A couple of years ago we hired Abey Bruce (Austin Creative Landscaping) to do some landscape work at our house. We were so pleased with the work that he and his crew did, that we recently employed him to do some beds at the front of our house. I gave him a basic idea of what we wanted, then he drew up some plans and presented them to us for our opinion of the layout and choice of plants. We were pleased with Abey's suggestions for a native rock garden.

The actual work was completed a week ago and we are so pleased with it. There is a variety of rock or boulders used in the beds and colorful perennials as well as native grass. He also added rock drainage at our downspouts and that was an amazing improvement. It is all truly 'creative' and so beautiful. I have driven by the front of our house a number of times just to look at it and I keep telling my husband how much I like it! A neighbor drove by the house recently while my husband was working in the yard and gave him a “thumbs up”... so nice that our neighbors are pleased too!

Abey and his crew did an amazing job on our yard! Everyone in the neighborhood gives compliments and asked who did the work so they can use him as well.

We worked closely together on the design and it turned out even better than I hoped. I'm a very picky and detailed person, so this was no small task.

They came and finished the whole job in 5 days for a very fair price that was lower than other well rated places I contacted.

Now, my girlfriend and I have a wonderful yard to enjoy and we couldn't be happier.

ACL completed a job for us on our back yard in May 2017 that included correcting a big erosion problem we had, some stonework, installing a flagstone patio, and some new plants to soften the appearance around the back of our house. Their bid was competitive with the other bids I received. We are very, very pleased with their work. Abey is a great communicator (rare for contractors). They did the job on time, with great care, and did some extra touches that we really appreciated. I will use them again and I highly recommend Abey and his crew at ACL!

Austin Creative Landscaping did a fantastic job transforming my backyard. Abey is very knowledgable about what your yard needs, and he did an excellent job listening to my ideas and executing them in the best possible way! The staff who put everything together were very professional and cleaned up their tools at the end of each day. Their work is top-notch and I highly recommend.

One thing that is important to me when the job is finished, they clean up the job site and the end result looks great!

We just had our second project completed by Austin Creative Landscaping and we couldn't be happier. Abbey and the crew were on time, cleaned up nicely each evening and did a fabulous job. Our once blank canvas of a yard is now a serene and beautiful place to see and relax in. The native plants and limestone structures were exquisitely designed and has made our yard an oasis.

Abey and team are awesome! He put together a comprehensive plan for my front and backyard that allowed me to pick and choose what we moved forward with, and I am super happy with the results!
