Garden Goat was awesome… They were very professional and very knowledgeable. Could not ask for a better experience.

Nicholas and his team were a pleasure to work with on our side and in our backyard. They removed a huge slab of exposed aggregate and installed lueders and pea gravel. We also had some drainage problems when it rained that they were able to address/fix the issues. We have had several heavy rains since the French drain was installed, and it works beautifully.

I've worked with Garden Goat twice now and have been delighted both times. Really easy to work with, communicative and punctual, no hassles and really great work. Will definitely have them back any time we need landscaping or irrigation work in the future!

As time goes by we realize just how comparatively expensive this uncaring multi-area hardscape and landscape job was. Garden Goat did mostly hardscaping for us last Spring and it was hit or miss but ultimately we are left with a bad taste from the experience. If this was the last outfit in town, I absolutely would not use Garden Goat again. He subcontracts out everything except for his 'design' and the minimal light installation. He barely instructed his crews and was always in a rush and not managing what was proposed and planned, not organized and careful. Our Spanish is almost nonexistent. One must always oversee landscape work carefully because so much unskilled labor is relied uponbut also so much of skilled labor also does not speak English. In the case of Garden Goat I felt like we had unskilled management. There was almost no oversight of the crews by Nic with Nic even being out of town for part of it. He was always in a hurry and we tried hard to be patient and make sure that he was listening. From the mess that resulted from their work in 2 irrigations zones that to this day cannot be figured out and has resulted in extraordinary usage of water there. Any leaks disappear under our West Austin geology so I am still hand watering those areas. Garden Goat somehow left us with not 2 separate zones in the area but 2 zones combined that run off either number, and a major leak. Whatever is going on, it is under huge planters so digging that area up is impossible. We will keep trying. Meanwhile, I am hand watering that area still. We did not call Nic back to handle any messes. He was not conscientous. He was easily defensive. He did not monitor or communicate carefully what was expected to his subs. I had to pick up trash and boxes that were blowing out of our yard from the low voltage lighting part of the project which was the only part that Nic himself did. He was in a hurry for every interaction and that seemed to take priority over dong things well or carefully. His proposals look so professional. The management is not. There are many 'landscape' businesses now that put up a website, call around for subs, and use good software for proposals and invoicing. Beware, they are not truly professional landscapers with the depth of knowledge and management skills or enough experience to professionally and conscientously execute a plan for a quality result for the customer. It felt like pulling teeth to get heard or get what was expected. He called one morning and asked what lighting we wanted from a supplier. He'd never even bought it and I had provided specific features to himand numbers and types many weeks before. We ended up just driving to S Austin and buying it ourselves. It was exasperating. How last minute was that!? It became too hard to bear so we just kind of wished for the end of having to deal with Nic. He did not seem to care about the customer. His welder sub showed up without notice to work the weekend with a very small piece of paper with the drawing poorly printed. It turned out OK enough because we had the common sense to adjust the plan after he had built boxes not to spec and they were lopsidededly positioned in the space but we changed out one planter and it looks fine becasue form the street there are plants in front. Thank you, google translate, because Nic was out of town! The landscape company that we used for years in the central ATX area has moved toward the suburbs and growth areas, leaving Austin due to the traffic congestion. Many reliable outfits have and others pop up. Since our sour experience with Garden Goat, we have found a team that is responsive to pleasing the client and directly employs their crews so we just had a huge new installation of most of our landscape by them.

My husband and I hired Garden Goat to refresh our old landscaping that was in the front and side of our home, and we couldn't be happier! Nicholas and his crew installed all new sod in the front yard with a beautiful peach and pear tree and mulched the whole side of the house for our chicken coop. They installed an irrigation system that has worked great and all the grass and trees are growing wonderfully. They also installed a metal garden box for cacti that looks amazing and is makes the whole front porch stand out. Nicholas was very responsive and helped us with any ideas that we had and had great suggestions. We will continue to work with Nicholas and highly recommend him to anyone that is needing landscaping!

I had seen all the great reviews and work that Nicholas and his team does so I was ecstatic to have him come out and envision what would be our backyard refresh. I appreciated that he offered very reasonable solutions and ideas. However, that was months ago and we didn't get an estimate of the work we discussed. I followed up via text and got a response that we would get it soon, but after months we have not 😞. We would have loved to have worked with Garden Goat as they came highly recommended.

Top notch experience from beginning to end. I was in touch with the owner/operator and he was both knowledgeable and humble in his expertise. He asked good questions and made suggestions which helped me clarify my answers. I was actually gone the day they came to do the work, but everything was done exactly how it was planned and we loved how it all looked!

The Garden Goat crew have been a GREAT FIND! Nicolas and his super hard working crew are fantastic! Great communication. Show up when they say they’re going to. The guys truly get that each job will change a little as you start and help you tweak things as needed on the fly. They pivot really well. My neighbor and I hired Garden Goat to put some stone and rocks between our houses where nothing has can seem to grow in the shade. There's also a lot of water run-off in the area which didn't help either.

Nicolas showed up on time every time we met and for the work. He knows what he's doing and had some great suggestions. They were able to cap several sprinkler heads in the midst of the project which was very helpful.

Price was reasonable and I'm so pleased with the results that I'm having a few other areas in my yard worked on by this great company. The staff who showed up to do the work were professional, courteous and did a marvelous job. Highly recommended.

I hired Garden Goat to install turf and irrigation in my backyard. In the beginning Matt was great with getting us an accurate estimate and was super helpful with the design. He answered any and all questions and has the experience with these types of projects. Once we agreed to the job Nicolas contacted me and set up the install date. I had my fence replaced by GardenGOAT and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the process was smooth and stress-free. Nicholas was professional, friendly, and easy to work with and his crew were great. The pricing was very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. The new fence looks fantastic and really transforms my yard. Will use GardenGOAT again in the future!

We asked Garden Goat to come out to refresh our yard, tidy up a few things that had gotten out of control, add some new plants to replace previous winter freeze casualties, MOVE SOME LARGE GARDEN BEDS AND THEIR IRRIGATION (no small feat), fix some gates that no longer closed well, check on the sprinkler system, add mulch, add rocks to gravel areas, plant a mountain laurel,… the list goes on.

Not only was it all done well but it was affordable and prompt. I have included a few images (which were taken during an eclipse and with Halloween decorations up, so the odd light and skeletons are not their doing 😂) but in particular note the gravel area was from where the team moved the raised garden beds and relocated the irrigation.

I keep walking around after completion in awe, the work is amazing. Nicolas and team were great to work with and highly recommend them.
