American Leak detection Was great at finding the leak in our roof as well as in our toilet. They took care of looking at the entire Plumbing in our home. Give us a great sense of affection and comfort, knowing that everything else was good.

I had a really good experience with this company. Michael called when he was on his way, which is always very helpful to me. I could tell he was very experienced and knew exactly what he was doing. In other words, I had a lot of confidence in him. He found the leak when the first company I called could not find it. I am very pleased with ALD and Michael - he was really great to work with.

I will start by saying they were very quick to respond, get out to our home, and were kind people. However, the PVC pipe was not tightened properly when they finished their air test to detect the leak which caused additional water damage and leaking from an area that was unaffected originally. With insurance not paying out more than 5k total due to the leak being detected in the foundation we are already paying tens of thousands of dollars (that we don’t have) to fix our home and this just added to the problem and out of pocket expenses. To say I am unhappy with the way the pipe was left lose and leaking is an understatement. It won’t let me attach videos so I took screenshots of my videos to attach.

Carl was professional and communicated very well with regards to what he was doing and what he was checking for. Very happy with his level of service and I told him I hope i don't have to use their services again but if I do I'd be calling asking for Carl.

Marcus came out to today to assess the source of a nagging leak which has doubled our water bill. I discovered through the process he is a very knowledgeable and competent professional. Marcus calmly and methodically surveyed our site and listened my input. As a result, he determined it was not in the water line to the house that the last irrigation specialist had told me was the culprit. Turned out it was actually in the irrigation system itself. He gave me some good tips to trouble-shoot. And since he did not have to take any tools out of his truck and perform any tests on site, to my surprise there was no charge. It really shows this company is stand-up. American Leak Detection Company of Dallas is very fortunate to have the expertise of of people like Marcus. He represents them very well. In these days when most services are a hit-and- miss proposition, it is rare to find a service company that really is outstanding. I would recommend them at the highest level.

We hired American Leak Detection of Dallas for a residential leak investigation. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.

The technician, Curtis, caused unnecessary damage during the inspection and then attempted to charge us to repair damage he created himself. All of this is documented in the company’s own reports, photos, and invoices.

He cut open the upstairs bathroom ceiling and left debris and trash on the floor. During this process, he broke an angle stop valve inside a cabinet that had never been operated since the home was built. We were then presented with a $300 bill to replace the damaged valve—the valve was not the source of the leak.

After several hours of scanning the rest of the home, not near the damage at the site, and traveling to purchase the supplies to repair the damage upstairs, he then proceeded downstairs to cut two additional holes in the ceiling where the water was visibly dripping. At this point, the time it took him to locate and diagnose was less than 30 minutes. The issue was a small leak at a PEX T-joint.

We were quoted $700–$750 to repair that minor PEX leak. When we declined, we were still charged an additional $150 hourly fee, on top of the initial $395 (2 hour minimum charge), that included time spent eating lunch.

In total, we were billed $845, including charges related to unnecessary exploratory damage and travel for repair supplies, for an issue that should have taken less than 30 minutes to locate and diagnose.

This experience felt predatory rather than professional. I strongly advise homeowners to seek other opinions before allowing invasive work from this company.

I am very happy with the service that I received from American Leak Detection of Dallas. The technition, Elvis arrived on time as scheduled. He performed a very thorough evaluation of my issue and explained what might need to be done in order to solve the problem. I am awaiting the final assessment report and what will be recommended.

Dean came to the house a few days after we called. He diagnosed the problem quickly. A week later, the team came out and fixed the leak. The process took about 4 hours.
This was a longstanding, not too serious problem. Dean advised us that it was easily corrected and not a matter of urgency. We decided to go ahead and have it fixed.

These are some of the nicest most amazing people. I noticed a leak in my home on 12/30 later in the afternoon. I made a claim to my insurance on the 31st. Due to holiday times and the day the holiday landed most places are closed or are pushed until next week. These people found out I have 5 kids a husband with cancer and they made it a priority to make it to me today just so I can get my repairs done 3 days sooner. When I say these people care about everyday people like you and me just trying to make it I mean it. It makes me emotional thinking about how much they cared about us when we are struggling so much. ALD did an exceptional job locating the slab leak after two plumbers failed to find it. They promptly repaired it even during the busy Christmas season. Initially, I was hesitant to hire them for the slab repair because they didn’t have a method to scan for the post-tension cable before breaking the slab. I hope they can scan the slab before breaking it in the future. Overall, they did a great job locating the leak, and I’ll recommend them if they offer slab scanning for the repair in the future.

I would highly recommend ALD, but be aware. They used some high powered tools that tripped one of my breakers to the garage. They didn’t check that all breakers were back functioning and left my refrigerator in the garage turned off. I didn’t notice it right away. All the food in the refrigerator spoiled. When I contacted them about it, they were EXTREMELY nonchalant. Almost like a so what? I even sent a text message to the guy who was working on the home and he completely overlooked what I said about it. That’s my only complaint. Customer service is a little lacking but the work is solid.

They are thorough and worked hard to resolve the issue. I knew I had a leak, and despite another company being unable to find anything, American Leak Detection discovered the problem. Thank you for your diligence and thoroughness in what you do!

Love the work these guys do. They find a way to get you worked in when you have issues . Henry is awesome. He comes in and get the job done. He’s amazingly polite and I always feel like we’ve got a job. Well done when he leaves.
