They have been the official wood provider for Double M Barbecue since 2014, and I can't think of any other place to get cooking wood.

Simply put, it was good work, but I don't like how it was handled. I had originally submitted a request on their website and never heard back, so I followed up with a call. The person I spoke with apologized for not getting it and said that sometimes they receive the online requests, sometimes they don't. Anyways, I told them to come out there and give me an estimate for everything and mentioned a few specific items I wanted to make sure they included. I got the estimate the next day ($800) and it only included two items (from the list of items they performed for me, they left a number of things off). So I called them up the next day and mentioned all these other items they left off and they came back out to get me another estimate ($1,250). I thought for $1,250 ($450 more than the first) that it was a pretty good deal for everything that I needed done and I called them the next day and got them scheduled. The estimate is actually labeled as a "contract - proposal" and I was going to sign and scan in, but they told me that wasn't necessary.
They came out on time and got everything cut and trimmed (with the exception of a few branches that were missed between the neighbor’s house; not enough to raise a fuss about) and was quite happy with how everything looked. It was to my surprise, and this is where my displeasure comes from, when I later received an invoice for $2,050 plus tax.
I called up Tom Lindsey and explained that I was confused by the higher amount and he told me that it was two separate estimates and that I needed to add them together. The handwriting on the estimates are hard to read and it was never explained that they were two separate estimates (why they couldn't add the total from the other estimate and show a grand total on the new estimate is beyond me). I explained my confusion further and that I had tried to sign and was going to send the contract proposal for what I wanted done, and he said that they hardly ever receive those. So the one document that I was going to send in that showed just the $1,250 that would have cleared up this mess before it started, I was told not to by his Company.
I'm not going to say that I still wouldn't have ended up going with them at the $2,050, but I would have gotten more than the two estimates that I had, andit would have been nice to know going in how much it was going to be and not surprised later. Tom could have taken a couple hundred off the total as compensation for the mix up, but I could tell from his tone that he didn't care and all he wanted was his money for this service, whether or not it jeopardized any future service.
Just make sure you know what you are agreeing to before telling them to come out. -
Nice folks. Good selection of wood for smoking. 14inch or 21 inch pieces. Pecan, hickory, oak, others. Competitive prices w other suppliers.

Lindsey Tree Service is the best company to handle your tree needs. Especially here in the Lake Highlands area. We have used them several times, they are family run and the treatment of their customers reflects that. I would 100% recommend Lindsey Tree Company!!

Lindsey Tree Service is the "go to" place for cooking wood. We love to smoke meats and they have a wonderful selection of cooking woods, including fruit woods. Their staff is very friendly and will answer questions you have if you are exploring other woods to try.

My husband bought wood here last week and the wood was bad. Today 6/23 he went back and complained. The lady working was very rude. She told my husband that it was his fault that he didn't choose the right wood. She also stated that he didn't know what he was doing and that all cooks use that specific wood. The night we used the bad wood, my husband had to stay up all night because the wood would not burn correctly. We will not use this company again.

For the store review only - Great selection of cooking wood everything from pecan, apple, cherry, oak, hickory, mesquite, peach they have it all. They have logs which are about 15 inches long to chips to chunks. Only downside is the hours that they are open during the work week. Upset that they aren't open on Saturdays from 9-12 but prices are good and will be getting my smoking wood from here in the future. Staff is super friendly and nice.

Knocked out powe for neighbors and house. 100 degree temperatures. Don't trust them not to do major damage to the area.

Robert and Javier were highly recommended for trimming and cutting down trees. I was out of town when they did the job so upon my return noticed several dead limbs that were not cut down. I called and asked if they could fix it, there was a conversation of an additional charge because whatever was written on the job order was all the team would do. When I stated they were the tree experts and all they needed to do was call me to approve yet they didn't, he agreed to come back at no cost. One back tree had to be cut down which hosted my backyard lights and part of the light strand had been taken down while they were here. So a week later I went to restring my outdoor lights. When I went to restring them I noticed the light string had been cut in two places and not usable. When I asked Robert by text why he didn't say anything - he stated I was accusing him of being a liar and that his team would not have done that. So when I sent the pictures (it's been less than ten days since they had completed the job) I was told that no one was near the lights so it had to be me. When I told them the only person who had been here was the pool cleaner, they then accused him. He then called and proceeded to argue with me and tell me I must be in the wrong - he is a pastor and reads the bible. When I told him I too read the bible but that did not fix the problem. I finally realized we would continue to argue the truth and ended with "Let's agree to disagree on this one" and "You have lost a customer". I am in sales and customer service and NEVER would I take this tone with anyone much less a scenario where you are not 100% sure you are right. As I told him, I was bringing the issue to his attention and his first comment back was "they were old lights". Maybe I caught him on a bad day but all I know is you don't win customers by yelling at them or accusing them of lying. I wish them the best of luck in what they do and put this down as a learning lesson.

You don’t find Great customer service and good people like this anymore. I actually waved them down driving down my street because I had two over grown trees behind my backyard that didn’t allow any sun to come in and dry up after the rain and blocked the sunshine during the summer, ~ I was given a very fair rate, considering my neighbors paid three as much as I did, and they did a wonderful job only taking a few hours. They cleaned up everything perfectly. I will definitely be using them in the future. Thank you so much Mario You’re a 10 star business and I will be recommending you to all of my friends, family and neighbors I highly recommend this company living in Rockwall for over 20 years I have found that a lot of companies over charge but this one is a gem.
So glad I had those two cut down as they leaned on my fence and saved it after this last storm -
Mario and his crew were fantastic. This is the second time we’ve used them; their company was a referral from a neighbor.
They’ve trimmed two huge live oaks, taken down junky hackberry trees, trimmed myrtles properly, a laurel, and a red oak. Stump grinding with clean up included.
I am so thrilled to have found my “tree guy”.
They are friendly, professional, good at what they do, reasonably priced, communicative, and efficient.
I could go on!
Mario also does little things like trim branches on trees that he didn’t charge for. He is very kind and this type of practice is hard to come by these days. I am so thankful for the referral!
(I believe these negative reviews are for another company with the same name. There is no Robert or Javier here…but I’m east in the metroplex and still use this company.) -
very professional team if you need tree service this is the best option
