Reviews of local pros in Dickinson, Texas

Stephen and his crew were such a breeze to work with. Contender was priced reasonably and the work was done quickly and efficiently! Highly recommend for excellent quality of work and communication. Made the whole process of repairing our siding simple and painless!

Completely and totally impressed!

If you’re in the need of a new roof or roof repair, call Stephen Box. He will assess, tell you your options, and get you taken care of.

He and his crew came to a flip house on Monday, and completed the same day. They did an incredible job!

I suggest Contender to a coworker and he was happy with how communicative Stephen was. He was happy he chose them to do his roof, too.

Thank you, Stephen!

Nearly my entire home was redone by Contender Construction, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Cabinetry, backsplash, shelves, floors, fireplace accent wall, bathrooms, etc. Stephen is very friendly and communicative and helped us navigate this massive project. The work was done quickly and I really felt like everyone who came through from his team was respectful of my space. It has been about a year and a half since the work was done and everything has held up beautifully. I even had an exterminator comment on how well constructed the cabinets are.

I highly recommend Contender for any work you need to have done!

Stephen Box and Contender Construction are our "go-to" to almost everything for our house and our rental property. He has provided new roofs, including a flat roof (which other contractors previously made a mess of but now looks great and slopes slightly in the right direction!), laminate flooring,, a new concrete driveway, external house painting and Hardie plank replacement of rotting wooden siding. The work is top notch and communications are always excellent. Unlike some other contractors we have dealt with Stephen has worked with us to come up with the most economic solutions rather than trying to upsell his services.

I’ve used Contender Construction on two occasions. They replaced my roof and did a flooring installation. The roofing project involved an insurance claim, and Stephen handled that process smoothly and professionally, which made the experience stress-free. He was fast, communicative, and delivered high-quality work on both projects. I’m very happy with the results and would confidently recommend Contender Construction to anyone looking for a reliable, professional contractor.

Miguel is highly professional and customer service oriented. He goes above and beyond to get a job done. Miguel was over to diagnostic my LG refrigerator for no cooling symptoms. It was determined bad compressor and went getting a warranty replacement. After replacing the compressor, the refrigerator doesn't cool down to the temperature setting point. I informed him, he came to update the software on the main board and added more refrigerant. My LG refrigerator is now working very good and making ice as it should. He is highly recommended. Miguel, you are rock.

Miguel was very efficient at diagnosing my dryer problem and fixed it in record time. I'll definitely call him again for any appliance repair.

Answered the phone. Came the same day. Fixed it right away. Great service!

Giving a one star and he really don't deserve that. Didn't finish a job..

They are the best, fast, friendly, and professional. I will always use them, I recommend you do the same.

Excellent, quick, and professional service from Miguel! First time hiring him but will definitely continue to use his business for my families future needs.

Came to fix my refrigerator, Very friendly and professional. Miguel definitely knows what he is doing, I was told he’s been fixing appliances for years.

Miguel came out and fixed our washing machine. Courteous and professional. Will definitely use him for any future repairs. Excellent!

Miguel is very knowledgeable, dependable and courteous. He fixed my washing machine. I will definitely contact him again in the future when I have other appliances needing repair.

Miguel was very courtesy and professional. He fix my Maytag washer machine in great time. Highly recommended!

We had a refrigerator fail at our vacation rental and Miguel was able to come the next day to look at the fridge. The best part - he was even prepared with the part he believed wasn't working and fixed the refrigerator same day. On top of that, Miguel was extremely professional, courteous, and timely with the repair. If you are in need of a QUALITY and trust-worthy appliance repair company - we highly recommend Gearhead Appliance Repair. Thank you Miguel!

Miguel is excellent. Fast & Professional. I will use him always in the future for repairs 👍👍👍

I couldn’t be happier with the service I received with Gearhead. I had a washing machine that needed repair through a Lowe’s Extended Warranty. One company was supposed to come twice but did not show up. Another company was supposed to come and also didn’t show up. Gearhead, on the other hand, not only showed up, but called me the very next day to let me know they had availability a day earlier. Miguel came and fixed the washer in no time. I also needed to replace a broken agitator. Miguel ordered the part and delivered it a couple of days later. From now on when I need an appliance repaired through Lowe’s warranty this is the company I will request. Miguel was thorough, professional, and kind. So happy I have found a great local company, versus two national companies that didn’t even bother to show up. You have definitely earned my business Gearhead.

Miguel is an amazing technician always helpful, efficient, and reliable. Truly the best tech ever!

Miguel worked on our older model Whirlpool washing machine and was an absolute life saver! The part had to be ordered and it was a genuine Whirlpool part. His price was very reasonable and he works so quickly and efficiently. Miguel definitely knows what he's doing and has been working on appliances for a long time. He is able to fix any appliance. I highly recommend and would definitely call for any other appliances that need to be fixed.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service provided by Miguel from Gear Head Appliance Repair. He efficiently diagnosed and repaired my refrigerator, completing the entire process—including ordering and replacing the necessary parts—within just two working days.

In contrast, my previous experience with Allure Appliance Repair was frustrating, as they took two months and were ultimately unable to resolve the issue, citing difficulties in obtaining the required part.

Gear Head Appliance Repair demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and efficiency, and I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of appliance repairs. Thank you again, Miguel, for your excellent work!
