HVAC reviews in Fort Worth, Texas

I had the team today at my home installing A/C units. They were on time, very careful, professional, educational, complete, and left absolutely nothing negatives I can possibly think or even create about. Drew, Sam and the crews were just amazing guys. Probably the far best company and people to work with. There are many outstanding companies here in North Dallas area. But this one experience with them made me a believer of their service the years to come. Thanks guys!!

Wow, I thank Mike and his fantastic team for saving me from yet another week of no AC in this hot Texas heat!! Purchased the Trane XV18 and my house is cold now and I am so happy!! I would recommend Compass Air Services to everyone, we will be with Compass Air Services for a long time to come!! Compass Air Services will be installing insulation in our house in the very near future, which will help with the cost of electricity in addition to our new AC!!

Compass is the most professional and knowledgeable AC company out there. They’re always attentive to my questions and thoughts and respond quickly. They have now installed 2 units for me and their work is second to none. Drew and his crew are very friendly yet maintain high professionalism when installing and make sure every detail is done right. I’ll be a compass customer for life!

Very Disappointed. We had excellent experiences with Compass in the past, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. They replaced both of our units within the last 7 years. So when our upstairs unit stopped cooling, I didn't think twice to call them. We had no problem with the service technician who diagnosed the problem as the condenser leaking and needing to be replaced. It was still under warranty and he estimated ~$600 for labor and refrigerant. Also, the part would be in on Tuesday the following week.
After not hearing from Compass on Tuesday, I called and was told the part would be at least another week and that the job would cost ~$1600. I explained what we had been told by the service tech and that we were repeat customers, but with no effect. Bottom line, I shopped around, found a more competitive price, and used a different company that was able to pick up the condenser from a local warehouse in one day (under warranty). Not surprisingly, Compass never called us back to tell us the condenser was in and schedule an appt.
Unfortunately, it appears that Compass was not really interested in this "small job" and was trying to gouge us on price and fit the job in when it suited them, using the part availability as an excuse ...meanwhile leaving us in the heat! I'm not sure what happened with this once reputable company. If you still plan to use them, do yourself a favor and shop around!! -
I called to get service and left multiple messages. No calls back. We paid them to install 2 new units. That was fine. It’s when an issue came up with warranty that the company was completely unable to get in touch with and unresponsive. I reached out to another company and needed to verify if Compass filed the warranty upon install. To which I was cussed out and told I was being rude for asking for verification. I got hung up on by the owner and told I would need my husband to call. For a simple call to just ask if the warranty was filed with Trane. Wow. Don’t use this company if you want good customer service. I’ve never experienced anything like what I just received. Then they called my husband and acted as though I was the one cussing them out. I even asked if we could start the conversation over to just have a SIMPLE question answered and he said “absolutely not, you are being so rude. Jesus. You can have your husband call if you need me to look anything up”. The hypocrisy is astounding and that’s all he would have needed to do and said he couldn’t do for me at any point. I guess I’m rude for calling another company is July with a broken AC when this company can’t follow through.

Our sales rep, Jeremy, was very helpful and quick to answer/return my calls and concerns. He was patient to explain all of the details concerning the equipment, efficiency, and payment options. Our installation also went very smoothly, George was very helpful to answer my any of my mom's questions the day of. And the crew arrived on time and got right to work and finished in a timely manner. The installation at my home went great & so my mom also decided to do business with Compass. We had a great experience with them and highly recommend their services!

Compass Air was recommended to us. Jeremy was prompt and professional on his first visit. We liked his attitude and ease of explaining the process. His crew was prompt, clean and friendly. We love our new system and will recommend Compass Air to everyone we know that needs their services. Our Electric bill has already cut itself in half. It has been well worth the price and we should have done this years before.

Compass Air installed my system in April 2017. I was very happy with every facet of the installation. This past weekend, I had an issue with my unit. I called at 8:00pm on a Saturday and Shane called back within 30-45 minutes. We determined that my problem was not critical, and he scheduled me for Monday morning between 10:30-11:30am. Jeremy showed up at 10:20 and took care of my issue very quickly and explained the cause and ways to deal with it. I chose Compass Air for my installation because they had great reviews and were able to get to me quickly when my A/C was out, but after needing service and seeing how they took care of me, I know I made a good choice.

I have been using Compass Air for over 10 years. I should have written a review before this! Mike, Shane and my technician, Jeremy, have been amazing. Our motor went out recently and I received a call back within minutes. They were able to come out pretty much immediately and fix our AC. They've even responded instantly when it's just been for a simple service call. This week I referred Compass Air to my neighbor. She has had 2 other companies out and neither of them were able to access the problem much less fix it. She said that Jeremy was able to fix it during that same service call. I have found their integrity to be top notch. And, their pricing is more than fair. I refer everyone I know to Compass Air.

Have used Compass Air since 2004 when after another local company could not do the job right after 4 attempts. Mike and his guys have always been there when needed and repaired or replaced issues with my a/c in a timely matter. Highly recommend.
Edit Review: It's now 2024 and I suppose that this company like many others do not repair units any longer, only want to sell new unit installs. Never any issues with my unit installed by CA except a couple of capacitors replaced. This year back in June it was not cooling as it should, a tec came out, said yep it may be 1+ lbs low on freon, but it is 11 years old and is too old to repair. Also anyway we do not charge units with R22 any longer, too expensive and hard to get. Total lie! The cost are practically the same as R410 and there are millions of pounds still on the market enough to last the next 10-15 years for R22 units. Can't trust anyone these days, so dropped to 1 star review for the lie and lack of service. -
Exceptional experience from beginning to end. Drew, estimator/supervisor, honest, easy to work with, responsive.
After install, while trying to test system, encountered electrical deficiencies in my wiring that needed resolved.
Great guidance to get issue fixed by electrician. Compass Air was recommended to me by a trusted friend and I couldn’t be more pleased. Installed two units in a day, entire crew was professional and did all the little things well. Mike, the owner, worked with me to get the best deal possible. Don’t waste your time calling others, these folks are the best! -
We had a complete AC system installed on Monday, 9/14/2020. Installation was flawless, on time and professional. George, Alex and Ricardo (installation team) was knowledgeable, professional and with great manners. Drew Roden on 9/8/2020 provided estimate. He even double checked my system to make sure that I actually need one and provided his honest and expert recommendation. Due to Covid-19, TRANE unit was not available in whole country, Mike Prayor (Manager) worked diligently around the clock and secure on unit for me. The whole team at Compass Air is awesome. I will recommend them every time when some on need HVAC help.

We needed to get both of our air conditioners replaced and if possible I wanted to support a local business. I called six different companies to get prices so I could make a qualified decision. I called to make an appointment and Mike, the owner, answered and set up an appointment for me to meet with Drew. After I had gotten all my quotes I decided to go with Compass Air for several reasons. This was the only company that provided me with a comprehensive and detailed quote telling me exactly what was included. There was no high pressure sales pitch and they were the only company that gave an option for a lower price if you paid in full at the time of purchase. From start to finish I have never been more pleased and impressed with a company! The crew that came out for the installation was polite, prompt, hard working and so effective at teamwork that I wasn’t surprised by how quickly everything was done! When they were finished with the install we did a walk through and everything was explained to my satisfaction. My air conditioning units are performing wonderfully and I’m looking forward to seeing how much lower my bills will become in the future. I highly recommend Mike’s company and everyone involved with him, you can tell they all take a lot of pride in what they do and it shows in every aspect of the company!

**Review after installing a Trane HVAC : - I should have read former reviews from Yelp/Google and picked up the red flags about the rude and disrespectful behavior of the guy picking up calls.
Although the initial installation of Trane XR basic HVAC system by Compass Air went ok, my experience quickly soured. After just 4 months, the air conditioner stopped working, and despite reaching out to Compass Air for assistance, I received no response. I had to call a local HVAC technician to resolve the issue.
Then, after 7 months, it broke again. This time, in winter, The furnace does not start. I again had to call my local technician to diagnose the furnace. He said the system installed was defective and he will charge additional if he were to fix. He advised me to reach out to the dealer who installed it. It turned out the installed furnace wasn't even tested while it was installed in Summer. I don't blame them for defective unit installation, part of the blame applies to me as well, I did not bother testing furnace after installation in summer trusting the installer, neither did I research about the company more.
New system has failed 2 times in less than a year. It is still not working. At this point, I no longer trust Compass Air to provide reliable service let alone respond to service calls. The experience has soured, and it seems like once the HVAC system is installed, you are on your own. There was no quality control let alone any followups after installation. I wasted my 10,200$ for the defective Trane XR Hvac unit. At this point all I have is regrets because I rejected multiple lower quotes for new hvac installation considering situation like this but my fear transpired quickly into reality.
I had observed red flags with this company, not picking up calls, rude disrespectful guy picking up call, no follow ups, no quality control after installation, not replying to voice message, texts but I ignored all, now all I have is regrets. They claim one year of service after installation but good luck if they reply back if at all fix the issue.
I am stuck with the broken furnace the very first time I turned it ON in winter. I reached out to Trane directly if they can help me with the defective Unit, but Trane did not offer any help and advised me to reach out to dealer.
If anyone is considering installing an HVAC system with Compass Air, I would advise caution based on my experience. The installation of my unit was problematic, as it turned out to be defective. This issue caused delays and additional frustration, and resolving it is becoming nightmare. I suggest thoroughly researching their customer service, paying attention to calls, pay attention "if the guy who picks up call is rude & disrespectful or not" and support options before moving forward, as issues with installation can sometimes be more complex than expected. Also check reviews and potentially get a second opinion on the equipment before committing to any HVAC installation. The person who picks up calls is extremely disrespectful and rude, I wasn't even allowed to explain the situation and within a minute he threatened to hang up call the reason was because mid winter i called Trane for help because they did not pick up my call.
Here’s my star rating breakdown for Compass Air :

Just wanted to review Compass Air and wanted to let anyone who reads this to know that my new A/C and Heating System Installation went flawless yesterday. Mike and his installation team were prompt, professional, courteous and paid attention to detail. Based on my experience with Compass Air I would recommend them to do your installation. When they finished with their work you could not even tell that they had been at my house. Mike thank you and please tell your installation team thank you for me. Good Job.

Look no further. Compass Air can be trusted to be honest, fair in pricing and committed to customer satisfaction. Special hats off to our service technician today “Sam”. He went above and beyond what was expected of him and the company to insure our AC system was repaired on the hottest day of the year so far. Thanks to the entire company for a job well done!

Be sure when you get a new A/C and furnace from Compass to register it yourself , especially if Champion/York equipment.
The receipt Compass gives us 5/19/2020 says 10 year parts and 2 year labor warrantee. But you have no warranties unless it is registered. They don’t tell you that they do not register the work that they do.
the receipt implies that the warrantee is in effect. champion gives 90 days for the equipment to be registered. We do not get our Service from Compass. -
