To sum up Beautiful Backyard Living in one word: Wow! Marcia and Austin were incredible to work with throughout the entire process. The finished product is stunning - The attention to detail is unmatched! I fully recommend Beautiful Backyard for your next project! (Don’t mind our temporary furniture!!)

Edit 1: The email referenced by the business is in response to a first draft sent to us regarding our project. We were told in the opening line of this email this is “a very rough draft”. It is more than understood from our dialog that revisions would be needed as the design provided is incomplete does not reflect everything requested during our free consultation. We then received a second revision for review two days later, which is the latest design to be provided and still did not fully address all the requirements.

Original Post:
I don’t understand why this company won’t do the work we PAID them for or return our money.

This is pretty straight forward:
1. We had them at our home
2. They provided a free cost estimate
3. We liked the estimate and discussed next steps. They informed us it’s to pay $600 to get a completed design. We asked them point blank if paying for the design is going to provide us a complete/finalized design and that it does not require us to move forward with this business. They said yes we will be provided a complete and finalized design and no we will not be required to contract with this business
4. We payed $600 and entered the design phase
5. During the first review of our design we provided them with defects in the design based on the specifications provided and new requests we wanted to add. We were told we would be provided the complete and accurate designs with the defects corrected and the new requests added.
6. They provided a second design iteration which also had design defects which do not align with or meet our original requests. They had failed to incorporate the additional asks which were told would be provided
7. During the design review phase we aligned this business isn’t an appropriate service partner for us to contract to build due to concerns we had with their contract. And requested the finalized design plan which had already been paid for.
8. This business, as a result of us not choosing to pay the $10K+ non-refundable to move to the next phase, is refusing to complete the designs we have already paid for.

It is ridiculous we are having to deal with this.

We had our patio extended to an amazing outdoor space! We can now spend most of the year outside. We LOVE our new patio and the care it took to make sure the area for our hot tub had the support and a dedicated breaker. SUSANDA ORTEGA was our project manager and she was with us each step of the way from design to job completion, ensuring excellence We highly recommend Susanda as a project manager and Beautiful Backyard Living!!, Our patio looks like it was built with the house. Thank you for creating this amazing space.

From the first phone call to the final payment working with Deann and Bobby was great, their crew were very good and responded to feedback as we went.

We had a patio cover that is integrated into the back of our house with an out door fan and lighting. It looks fantastic. I was great to have some outdoor living space that was usable during the summer.

The company is great to work with including the design phase. Be sure to note any tweaks during the design phase and have them signed of.

Beautiful Backyard Living did an amazing job with our backyard project. We extended the concrete on our patio, as well as added a second covered patio over a new hot tub. The design also included privacy walls and stone steps/bench for the hot tub.

We worked with Deanna and she was great. We gave her ideas and she created a beautiful design. She communicated with us every step of the way, and she was honest about timelines and cost. She took care of everything from design to permits/approval to scheduling the crew. She worked around the hot tub delivery schedule, making her juggle her various schedules. We even threw a few curve balls her way, and she was able to troubleshoot and find us the best solutions. We always felt like a priority, which we really appreciated.

The crews who did the installation were really fast and reliable. They cleaned up after themselves and were respectful of our property. They take pride in their high quality work to execute the design beautifully.

Overall , we are very happy with Beautiful Backyard Living. We highly recommend them for any backyard project.

First before anything I want to thank Susanda Ortega and Beautiful Backyard Living for an amazing experience from start to finish. After researching, planning, and saving the time finally came to get our cover outdoor kitchen added to the backyard. Susanda listen to what we wanted and put together a beautiful outdoor kitchen and patio cover in our budget. Susanda was a great project manager to work with - she was very communicative throughout the project. if I had any questions or concerns, She was very quick to address them. She is always here to make sure that everything goes as planned. Susanda loves to see customer’s happy and she strives for the best. We were so happy with the results, because our dream outdoor kitchen patio came true.

We are very happy with the final product. We had Bobby pour a patio and build the patio cover attached to the house. Bobby designed the patio cover and explained why certain aspects were designed as they were. When we had problems with our HOA, he met with our HOA and addressed their concerns. Bobby answered all of our questions throughout the build. He really went out of his way to ensure we were happy with our investment. We definitely recommend Beautiful Backyard Living for your patio and patio cover projects.

We had an amazing experience with Beautiful Backyard Living team. The team provided an excellent service in planning, execution, and delivery of the final project. We were in need of an extended patio cover to reduce sun exposure while in the yard. The final project was gorgeous and just what we needed for the summer time.

Our point of contact was Marcia, she was always quick to respond to any questions and concerns. Marcia also actively followed up with us to ensure we didn’t have questions or needed assistance.

Construction manager Austin was not on site most of the days but he was also quick to respond to any questions and meet up in person to discuss any concerns or resolve issues.

Beautiful Backyard Living is not the cheapest contractor team but they will deliver top notch quality work. The only thing you will regret is that you did not find them earlier to have your dreamed backyard started!

Susanda Ortega made purchasing a cabana from this company a wonderful experience! From day 1 we worked with her in the bidding process and then she became the Project Manager. Cost wise I would say BBL is competitive but Susanda is the reason we went with this company………I have owned a home for 30 years and have worked with many contractors and have to say that Susanda is the best. She met every contractor on-site when they would arrive and then inspected the work before they left. She was honest and very good at communicating during the project. Also, the punch list was cleared in record time…….before the cabana we had a pool built and I spent 9 months chasing the PM to find out what was happening next and also to identify problems…..So, working with Susanda was definitely a breath of fresh air!

I had a patio extension done by Beautiful Backyard Living a year ago so now it’s a good time to write this review. I had a great experience from the first consultation. Marcia was very transparent about costs and materials used and helped us decide what were the best options for what we wanted done. The construction went smoothly and followed the scheduled, the only delay we had was due to the city’s permits. The project was completely beautifully, the attention to detail was great. A year later, we still love our patio and the 2 minor issues we had over time, were fixed almost immediately after I brought them up because we were still under warranty. I would definitely go back to this company if I ever need another project in the future.

I was in the market for an upgrade to my backyard. I wanted to find a company that would be me a small storage building, but not just any storage building. I wanted it to be top quality materials and custom made. Not like the quality of the big box stores. After much research, I found Beautiful Backyard Living. Their reputation and reviews were second to none in the backyard living industry. I reached out to Bobby and Austin, and they took over from there. They designed a building based on my ideas and also kept within my HOA and city codes. By the way, they handled all that mess as well. They selected the best wood, siding, roofing materials and matched it perfectly to my existing house. I couldn't be more pleased. The quality of this structure is absolutely outstanding! It will last a life time. I was also very pleased with the professionalism of their crew. They were organized, clean and took great care of my property. We couldn't be happier with our new patio, outdoor kitchen, and fireplace. Austin's view for the project, attention to detail, and design are what made us choose BBL over other companies; even though they were the most expensive. The design that Austin came up with truly matched our vision for the project and even exceeded our initial expectations. Austin was able to suggest things that I hadn't thought of and other companies failed to address. He even came to our house to present his design whereas other companies just sent emails for us to look over.

Other than some weather delays and finding holes in the concrete team's schedule, the project was completed promptly. The contractors employed by BBL are professional and do some awesome work. Everyone that has seen the completed project comments on the workmanship. As great as the design was, the finished product looks even better.

Only one small change was needed in the middle of the project. Everything else was exactly as quoted.

We practically live outside now thanks to our dream patio. I highly recommend BBL and wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future if we want any other work done.

When my wife and I decided to build a covered patio we knew we wanted to go through a local company. Anytime you are going to spend a large amount of money you get very nervous about the quality of work and the things you hear about contracted companies. We had Deanna Townsend out from the very beginning she made us feel so much more comfortable. She worked us through the design process all the way through completion. Even with my busy schedule she kept me on point and on time, this alone is a difficult task LOL Deanna worked so hard to make sure we had the project completed in time for a family event. Everything about this was great, Deanna set us up with a website to communicate daily projects. You could view what was going to happen all the way through. If any issues did arise Deana was quick to answer and work through it with us. In addition the price quoted was the price we paid. All the additions were choices that we made. Bobby the owner was also out many times to inspect. He was honest and straightforward. He stayed on top of the crews and made sure everything was done with quality and to his satisfaction. We are loving our new backyard kitchen. Deanna came out to the house and discussed the details to know exactly how we wanted our kitchen to look. We also stayed in contact over the phone during that time period for questions and concerns. She was able to get everything customized to the way we wanted it to look. We had a pleasant experience with Beautiful Backyard Living. We had a full transformation project of our backyard. We installed artificial turf, concrete, outdoor structure, and built-in kitchen. Deanna was great to work with from the beginning of scoping out the project, design, and cost management. Austin was an outstanding onsite manager and very easy to work with. He addressed all of our concerns, and resolved all of our issues in a timely manner. The final result was amazing and we are still in awe of our backyard every day.
