Robert is great! He gave me my quote the same day I called. They started the work just 2 days later. They did an awsome job. They came and demoed the first day. They cleaned up before they left. The next day they finished the job. They cleaned up and it was great. Fransisco is wonderful, his crew did an amazing job, very professional!

It was difficult for me to choose a construction company for constructing my first house. I contacted various companies including Houston Remodeling Constructors. After the amazing results at the end I felt comfortable for choosing them. Great Job guys. I will be coming back for designing of my office.

Robert and his crew did a great job repairing the drywall/repainting in two spots in our house and fixed the flashing on our back window that was causing rain water to get in. Robert responded to my initial inquiry very quickly and had all of the work done within 72 hours. Would recommend and use again!

I requested a quote from Home Remodeling Contractors. Robert came to my house. He did a quick walk through but did not spend any time discussing details of what I wanted. (I've had other contractors spend more than an hour discussing details on their first visit.) Robert said he'd have to come back with more crew members to give me a quote. I was still interested in getting it from him so I sent the following message:

"Robert, Thank you for stopping by today. I have attached a list of the work we talked about. I also have attached the second floor before/after plan to remind you of what I want to be done up there. To keep my costs down, I'd like to purchase materials myself for you to pick up. Does that work for you? Also, do you have liability and worker's compensation insurance?"

My questions seemed reasonable to me. I never heard back from him. That was EXTREMELY unprofessional. All he had to do was answer me. A polite "no" would have sufficed. If the quality of his work is like his professionalism, I'm lucky I didn't hire him. Bad vibe. My advice: find someone else to work with.

Team Completed my bathroom remodel. It looks great and I am happy with the finished product. When originally getting quotes to do the job I liked the confidence that Robert spoke with that his team could handle what I had in mind. even showed me another Recent customers bathroom remodel similar to mine that looked great. Gave 5 stars because Robert made sure that his team turned over a product to me as the customer that is done right.

Great work! Robert and his team were very professional and did a great job. We’ve now used them twice, once to repair pocket doors (no one else could do it), and once to do a series of jobs (drywall repair/painting, installing a door, and building closet shelving). Both jobs produced quality work. Highly recommend them!

I just want to drop a quick testimonial and share my experience with HRC (Houston Remodeling Contractors). Robert's and his crew took care my kitchen remodeling project very well. He is one of the rare contractors who is truly passionate about his company and serious about taking care of his clients and that certainly reflected from their work. The cost is very reasonable and competitive, I would highly recommend Robert and his crew.

I have actually waited quite some time to post my review about the experience that I had with Houston Remodeling Contractors as initially I dd not want to adversely affect the professional opportunities available to a small African American owned and operated business. However, after having the pleasure of working with another small African American owned and operated remodeling company I have since learned that the experience that I had with Houston Remodeling Contractors was inappropriate, unprofessional, and a misrepresentation of the ethical and professional standards advertised via their website. Most importantly it does not represent the industry standards related to customer service and quality of work rendered.

Disclaimer: I am a young African American female, who admittingly doesn’t know much about in-home renovations. This lack of knowledge and eagerness to trust coupled with my desire to have my home remodeled unfortunately caused me to waste several months and thousands of dollars on substandard services yielded by Mr. Robert and his team of “professionals.” When approached about my areas of concern I was dismissed (I felt because I was a woman), disrespected, and overcharged by Mr. Robert. My professional relationship with Mr. Robert ultimately ended due to a lack of standard finishing that he refused to provide unless I paid additional monies. While the initial dissolution of our professional agreement was a huge let down as I had already invested thousands of dollars and wasted months working with him it was a strange blessing in disguise as I was introduced to the owner and operator of another company that was customer centered, professional, efficient, and THOROUGH! I literally don’t have one negative thing to say about them! While their prices were not the cheapest, they were fair and they offered me cost neutral breaks when possible.

Per a brief scan of Houston Remodeling Contractors current review ratings, it appears that my experience was an anomaly (and I hope for others sake that it was). However, I felt that it was only fair that I share a bit about my experience with Houston Remodeling Contractors. Needless to say, I will not be utilizing them for any future projects nor will I refer them to anyone in need of support.

I contacted Robert for a water damage repair project to my property resulted from a water heater leakage in the attic. The project was completed with great satisfaction and Robert did everything in his capacity to ensure the project is done on time, on budget. I would recommend Robert and Houston Remodeling Contractors for any home repair project.

Robert and his team did an amazing job. They were extremely professional and helped our family through a difficult time as we had a major issue on our hands due to a prior contractor mess up. He fixed the damaged, rotted wood area, stabilized our stairs and installed a new door. Had extremely fair pricing, kept us informed through out the whole process and was present on site everyday. Would 100% use him again and recommend this company to any friends and family. Thank you!!

I had a kitchen remodel with a few other things, like floors and paint. While it took a bit longer than I anticipated, I am pretty satisfied with the work. As is expected with a project like mine, there are a few details that have to be addressed and Robert has assured me that he will take care of them. Except for a glitch that is still pending for my floors, I am very, very happy with the workmanship. Pictures of my kitchen appear on this website already. I tell Robert that his workers make him look good!!

    UPDATE: October 2019
It has been a full year since I first handed Robert my initial payment to my remodel. Today, my house looks fabulous! The work Robert's crew has done for me has been great.
After about seven months of living in our RV, we were finally able to enjoy our home, but...there were a few issues. You know, you hear a lot of bad things about contractors, and therefore, I don't think you can be blame me for being concerned. The floor had to have some sort of filling, the baseboards seemed to need a second coat of paint, and some of my cabinets had cracks showing up. Was I concerned that Robert would not make good on his warranty? Yes, I was concerned! While it took a bit longer than I would have liked, the work has been done and to my approval. And, by the way, some of those cracks were just the paint cracking, probably due to the weather change.
I recommend Robert and his crew. You know you can always learn something from different experiences. I learned that if your project is big, you have to have some patience. Best of luck, Robert!

I give Houston Remodeling Contractors a 5 star because the great experience we had hiring Mr. Robert Campbell. From the first call he was very responsive, professional and work extra hours to come the same day to inspect our home during the February 2021 Texas Snow damages defects. With very high technology equipment, Mr. Campbell took his time to diagnose damages, and provide a plan to resolve the broken pipes, wet ceilings , wet walls and wet kitchen area. His team was scheduled to come and begin the repairs within the next business day. Mr. Campbell was in charge of being present making sure the team was in place, in time and checking at times the progress of the repairs. If you are looking for professional, effective and honest contractor do not hesitate to contact Robert, be ready to get things done.

Robert unlike many contractors in the business of renovating homes, is respectful, punctual, accommodating, and the main thing is that he executes quality workmanship and provides very competitive prices. I can tell you you will not find all qualities in 1 stop but you will with Robert. I would definitely refer more of my clients to him.

I worked with this company to have my mom's restroom remodeled at her house. The owner, Robert made it seem as if his workers were all in house and communicated that the restroom remodeling would take up to 2 weeks. Come to learn that he was contracting in workers who did a great job on the restroom but in terms of the deadline presented it took roughly 3-4 weeks. There was lack of communication on Robert's behalf and he lacked professionalism. To the point where the question was brought up on if he should continue on with the project. He even tried to force a tub of his choosing that was not signed off on to be installed. If we could have worked directly with the staff in which he hired in and not him, that would have been ideal.

In response to Robert's false accusations regarding my family. That is not TRUE as "my family" did not eliminate me from the project as I was still heavily involved just chose not to interact with him due to his lack of professionalism. If you read the reviews below, other people too have experienced the same working with him. My mom as well spoke on how unprofessional he is but she wanted to keep the peace. It's is not true to say that I wanted to sabotage the project considering I paid to have the project completed. Based off my experience working with Robert Campbell who even went as far as to ask what I do for a living during the first initial encounter which was inappropriate. He is very condescending and I do not recommend working with him nor his company and I can speak on behalf of my mom/my family who feels the same way and would not recommend this company.

In reference to my family dealing directly with him, it was my mom, who ran all communication passed me before decisions were made with ensuring Robert communicated to us all via a group message since he could not be trusted.

I hope that no one else has to experience what we experienced working with him.

I used Houston Remodeling Contractors after the freeze in 2021. This was my first experience going through something like this, and I'm happy that I found this company. The owner, Robert, was always available when I needed him, and he always came by my location to make sure the work was being done correctly. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional job done right.

Owner Robert Campbell and his crew did an amazing job with the repairs on my home! From the plumbing to the drywall/rebuild/painting. Mr. Campbell was very professional, knowledgeable, and prompt when addressing my home needs. I was always notified promptly, his team was very efficient and all of the repairs in my home look amazing. I highly recommend HRC, and will definitely use them in the future!!

Overall, one of the best experiences I've had with a remodeling contractor. Recommended. We're very excited about our remodeled bathroom.

Original issue. In the Full bath: Bathtub rusted through, and return on tub had leaked at some point. The plumbing was old too. The entire tub, surround, and plumbing needed replacement. Half Bath: leak from roof line caused water damage on drywall near bottom wall of the half bath. Required some new drywall, trim, and both bathrooms needed to be repainted.

Scope of work. Demo the tub and tile, remove and dispose of old tub. Install valve for local water shutoff. Install new plumbing behind wall, install new tub, drywall, trim, tile surround, and paint. In half bath: install replacement Drywall, trim, and paint.

Communicative. Robert answered calls and texts promptly, and was able to get back to me very readily. When a sub contractor was scheduled to arrive, he would always notify me of the date and estimated time. Sub contractors were generally on time. One or two were an hour to 1.5 hours late, but other than those, they were on time.

Flexible. Scheduling was easy to manage. When I had certain days around the holidays where I would be on vacation, these were scheduled around. Work was performed near the second half of december and into January. Even during this busy time of year, they were able to fit us in. Workers never came in on Sundays, which was good I guess. Gave us some time to recoup, especially if more work was going to be done Monday.

Worked efficiently. Sub contractors would stay into the evening as required, working as late as 7 or 8pm. This was to my preference as I knew they would be able to get the work done quicker, and have to spend less days per trade. Sub contractors worked quickly, but did not compromise the quality of work.

Used proper materials. Materials (from my very spare knowledge) were fairly good. Water resistant backer board was used, with a water protectant adhesive. Any wood structure that was installed was treated wood. Base (non-upgrade) options for paints were eggshell or semi-gloss, and we were allowed to pick any color for each room. New bathroom hardware was a matching set, which was nice, because we were later able to order matching towel bars.

Accomodating. When pointing out concerns or issues, Robert was able to not only understand the problem and the fix, but also suggest viable alternatives. For example, the tile alcove had rough edges, and the edges were unpainted. Not a huge issue, but Robert suggested a light sanding, and water resistant paint. This turned out to be a perfect fix. Also, for final touch up, there were a few areas that I realized were not fully caulked or caulked correctly, and these were resolved quickly and fully.

Went the extra mile. Plumbing was upgraded to PEX (flexible water supply tubing). Valves were installed to shutoff the plumbing before the shower / tub, and an access was added in the drywall (nice!). Painter also painted inside of our towel closet in the bathroom, which was previously a disgusting yellow color, is now a bright white. Glass Shower door and panel, for a really clean look.

Finished on time / early. Took them a few days shy of the 25 allocated to finish the job, and that was during the holidays.

English speaking. Every sub-contractor had at least one english speaking member, which made conveying concerns, problems, and asking questions fairly easy.

Dirty but clean (at the same time). With our bathroom being second story, I expected some dust, but over the course of the construction, the carpet on our stairs and landings (which, granted, was already stained in a few places), got pretty unclean, both from dirt patches, and few small construction adhesive patches. The painters were really good about covering up the floor and carpet while painting though. Robert, and his company are upstanding however, and refunded more than enough to compensate for this. I'll be scheduling a carpet cleaning here soon.

I've attached some pictures of the finished work.

This contractor was extremely unprofessional. Instead of addressing issues calmly, he became rude and confrontational. Simple questions were met with attitude, and accountability was nonexistent.

If you value professionalism and respectful communication, I suggest looking elsewhere.
