I was referred to RND Technology by a friend to install security system and smart homes appliances. It went well and everything was installed within one visit (about 3-4 hours). The experience was great and smooth. RND Tech’s staff, Bill came and quickly informed me which apps to be installed on my phone while he’s installing all equipments around the house. He also made sure to test all devices and educate me on them. Bill is very knowledgeable, patient and had great sense of humor. It wasn’t an awkward moment to watch over his work as we could converse lightly. I was glad RND sent Bill and definitely recommend others to request Bill to assist you. If you haven’t have any security/alarm system installed or configured any smart home appliances, I would recommend contacting RND technology for one-stop company to consider. When outfitting our home in Afton Oaks, we looked at several bids from low voltage companies. There was a lot of variability in the pricing and brands used. Each of the companies we looked at expressed bias one way or another, except for RND, whose quote was also the lowest.

I was especially turned off by the dealers and installers who pushed the really expensive brands like Crestron, Control4, and Savant. Those bids were each in excess of $17k and required $100/hr programmers to make any changes at all. On top of that, the remotes looked like technology from the 90's, lacking touch screens and color displays.

Blake carefully explained all of the options to us in an unbiased way and emphasized value. I really liked the Sonos system for it's iPhone integration and other consumer product offerings. Blake integrated the Sonos in a way that utilized our existing receiver which helped us save even more.

We listened to several sets of in-ceiling and in-wall speakers, RND took the time to set these up and audition them with us. Since we installed 12 pairs, we picked some good value drivers throughout the home and some high end drivers for the living areas.

RND did a first class job installing these. The units were carefully aligned in the ceiling and balanced with equal distances from our existing can lighting and ceiling fans. This was especially important in our modern home because there isn't any trim or texture to hide a sloppy install.

We also wanted the technology hidden out of the way where possible. RND did a great job on this.

The wiring was carefully managed and terminated. I'm an Engineer by trade and this was important to me.

Lastly, the universal remotes that Blake installed and configured were first rate. It had a color touchscreen LCD panel and was much more modern than the Crestron units at a fraction of the cost. Best of all, it was really easy for my wife to use. Blank and the RND team really take the time to make the user experience intuitive. Thank you!
