Home Services reviews in Houston, Texas

Great service and when business is slow, there are enough employees. Need more succulent selections and infoor prayer plants. There is a high turn over employee rate. If they paid more than $11.50 phr and offered other I services such as profit sharing bonuses and good medical and dental insurances emoyees would stay in that unconfortable thankless job. :/

The worst customer service I have experienced in a while. No one says hi or asks if you need help looking for any plants. Do yourself a favor and just go somewhere else.

Was going through the aisles and thinking about my Dad's garden Cameroon 🇨🇲. It made me feel good.
They have good variety of plants and flowers and at a good price. The staff too is welcoming and helpful. -
BEWARE DO NOT BUY A CHRISTMAS TREE FROM HERE!!!!!! We bought a Tree in the beginning of the month and tree was invested with gnats!!! Our whole house was full of them they were on the walls the tree had so many eggs! It’s been the worst thing ever!!!! This is the first time and the last time we ever buy a tree from here! And to top it off it wasn’t cheap it was a $70 tree!! We always go to sams to buy it but we thought we should try somewhere else this yr biggest mistake ever! We went down to the nursery to tell them what happened and the man sure enough knew and said oh yeah they are in the water just empty it and they should go away.... nope we still have them even after doing that. So we just bought a tree for nothing not even Xmas and we need to go spend more money buying one! I’m so upset with this situation! I’m pretty sure we aren’t the only ones either! We need a refund for sure

Called for price of pallet of grass, as its not listed on their website, and was told they don't give prices over the phone, I need to drive 20 minutes down there for the price. I guess I'll buy from Cornelius.

Great place, love the sales. They don't have names on all the plants. I wanted to get more bushes to add to the ones I got last year and after being in the heat long enough all those bushes look similar. Needless to say I got the wrong ones and they have a no exchange or refund policy. 🤔

I called before I drove 8 miles to the location and they said they had the trees I wanted. I got there and not only did they not have them, they’d never heard of them! Good quality plants, etc, but not a single person there had any idea what was going on there, nor could they answer a single question!

They had a good selection considering the deep freeze we went through. They have a very welcoming gentleman that assists with mulch and soil. I normally hit this location a few times a year, as they rotate some interesting plants in and out

Went there to pick up vegetable plants. It was about 12:30 PM. No one there spoke English left without purchasing anything.

Purchased hundreds of dollars in plants. Most of what they sell at Houston Garden Centers doesn't have labels telling you anything about height, sun requirements, temperature range, perennial or annual or anything. So, I asked an employee to tell me more about the plant I was looking at. I explained my front yard and the application in which I was looking to plant. The employee guaranteed me that the plant I was looking at would work just fine. AFTER I paid for the plants, I noticed my receipt stated NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES. Once I got home, my husband further researched the plant to see how big it would get so we know how much room to give it when we were planting. When we looked it up we found that NOTHING the employee said was accurate. What we purchased was a HOUSEPLANT! It's tropical and cannot withstand Houston's temperatures and weather outdoors! Since it had only been 1 day and my purchase was predicated on their employee's knowledge and advice, I thought for sure there would be no problem with an exchange. WRONG!!! Even though the employee gave me an incorrect explanation and advice, they stood behind their no refunds or exchanges policy. I even called corporate where they were rude and unsympathetic even though I had spent over $300 and was only trying to exchange 2 bushes worth $40! I will absolutely never buy from them again. Everyone would be better off at Lowe's, Home Depot or the plethora of independent nurseries around town that are more professional and stand behind their advice and plants! It had literally only been 1 day and the employee admitted they gave wrong information!

EXTREMELY PREJUDICE...as soon as I walked up for assistance the manager walked away and started whispering something to the cashier....they both looked up at me....I asked a male employee about starter plants and he waved his hands and said "we have them all over"... they were looking at me like I was out of place...I can't believe they are allowed to act like that.. I guess they didn't speak English.....I couldn't believe how uncomfortable they made me feel....I always wanted to go there and now I will never go back.....I guess if you don't have a "business account" or if your not looking like "money" and if your black.....they won't deal with you....THEY DO NOT WANT BLACK PEOPLE TO SHOP THERE!!!!!!

Went there picked out all the plants I needed for the day got to the counter and they don't accept hundred-dollar bills even though I had $80 worth of plans don't bother going there unless you have small bills for them

Cashier was extremely rude and just lost our business. We needed several hundred dollars worth of plants/trees etc and she said she didn't care because she wanted to close the store. Mind you, the delay was partially that she didn't know what kind of tree we wanted to purchase and my husband had to run and look for a tagged tree to find out. The garden ridge in Katy has much better service and they aren't in such a rush to shove someone out the door and risk losing a big sale. We will spend our money where it's appreciated.

Bought some plants here but left the store with some unanswered questions. I already planted them and they ate doing great though so no biggie until bow with those plants. Maybe just a little bit more training to the staff will help. Good place to get your plants though, the prices seem very reasonable to me.

Great place to shop! Right now almost everything is half off

NEVER BUY HERE. THEIR POLICY IS NO RETURNS EVER. I bought bushes that included no growth info. Later that day I learn they grow up to 10 feet. I tried to return or exchange but I was denied. I called corporate and they declined also. I asked her to name 1 retailer that has a no return policy, she couldn’t do it.

I purchased Sod. When I got home to unload it I realized all the sod was dead. All sales are final.

My family and I went to this location to purchase a Christmas tree ( like we have previously) when we got home I noticed the needles were falling off, I didn’t think too much into it. The second week the bottom half of the tree is just branches and completely bare. We drove back to that Houston garden center thinking we could exchange, or get a new tree seeing as we paid $75 for it. We had a copy of the receipt and pictures to prove this. The customer service had a lack of empathy and was unprofessional. They seemed to blow us off and tell us to call corporate. Our whole life we have NEVER had a tree like this, we had no intentions of ripping anyone off. Also at this point being so close to Christmas they dropped down the price to $35. We we’re low on money this year, but we wanted to buy a nice tree and spent the extra money. We ended up calling corporate and speaking with Cindy. At first she told us no, but I thought maybe we could do something if she saw how badly the tree looks. We emailed the pictures and receipt, she and her boss decided not to help us at all. Refused to help. Absolute b__ch, you can read in between the lines. She was the grinch who stole Christmas. The worst customer service of my life. She didn’t care AT ALL. I honestly hope she gets fired. I was shocked with her lack of respect and empathy. Honestly if she’s okay with this type of customer service and whomever is in charge she really needs to reevaluate her sense of dignity and morals. This was just sad. Merry Christmas!

False advertising, or bait and switch: During the big half price sale, on my way home from an errand, I stooped to look for a big plastic pot for a small tree. Found one on the shelf that had a sign saying 50% off the price marked; I chose one that had a price sticker with $79.99 but no bar code. The girls wouldn't sell it to me without a bar code; they asked me to wait for the manager and said they couldn't call him because he had told them not to call. Ten minutes later, the manager finally showed up, and after some discussion found the same pot on a half price shelf way on the other side of the store. He scanned the code and told me $70. I said it should be $35. He said no, $70 is already half price, and regular price is $120. I said half of 120 is $60, not $70; but it should be $40 because the sticker said $79.99. He said it's old stock. I didn't tell him that old stock is normally what goes on sale. I told him if he doesn't honor the sale price of half the sticker price, it's false advertising and illegal. He said he would change the sticker. In the end I asked him directly if he would sell it for $40, He refused to honor the sale price of half off the sticker. Never again will I shop there.

I went their last week to pick out my Christmas 🎄. They had their 6-8 ft. blue spruce on sale for 69.95. Their selections were horrible. Big gaps in the trees and some were already turning brown. I ended up purchasing one not on sale for 90.00. This place is a total rip off. I will never go there again. Would give 0 stars if I could.
