I wish I had a before picture, but I didn’t think I would be making a review. I had large bare spots in my yard. My sprinkler guy who works in irrigation at the City of Houston suggested I take pictures and visit Southwest Fertilizers. I was greeted by Josh who knew exactly what I needed to do. I followed his yard prep instructions, applied fertilizer monthly, and watered as recommended. So here we are nearly three months later. The bare spots are nearly gone and my yard is thriving. Thank you for your sound advice. My yard is turning out beautifully. I’ve told all my neighbors and they’ll be stopping by soon!

I didn’t know this place existed until today. They have a HUGE SELECTION of quality lawn care materials/tools, EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE staff, and SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE…While browsing, I legit had 3-4 of their employees happily ask me if I need help with anything.

I would highly recommend them if you have any concerns regarding your lawn/garden. I will be sure to come here again.

I found this place just a couple of months ago as I decided I wanted to get into gardening. I went in with absolutely no clue what I was doing. Mr. Alex helped me figure everything out from container to soil. He is a customer service treasure and the main reason I keep going back. Aside from that they have a great supply of products, carrying a TON of different seeds, soils, fertilizers, and equipment. I really love the intimate nature of a smaller store and more personable staff/friendly faces. Additionally they've got a couple of shop cats that you can find sleeping on the shelves. I do not go to any other store unless there's something that Southwest Fertilizer doesn't have (which is rare). 10/10 I love this place!

This review is for echo service area. Came twice to honor the warranty for 2 faulty echo batteries. Guy was rude, unprofessional and very uncooperative. He tried to do everything but not help. Echo itself tried to do everything in order not to honor their warranty. They told me to give away my batteries, charger and tool in order to test the batteries! How am I supposed to work? They should learn from Milwaukee service center which is way better organized. Echo has worst customer service in USA. Disgraceful.

GARDENERS, they have a huge selection of plants, bulk seeds and trellises for great prices!! The crew always helps loads compost/soil into my car without me asking. My garden is beautiful thanks to this store!

Best bulk seeds in town. I have around a 98% germination rate with the seeds from here. Their potted plants are healthy and vigorous, not like the big box stores. My potted jalapeño lasted years and was very productive, with minimal care. Lots of good quality gardening tools, dirts, and other stuff your garden needs. This year I’m trying sugar snap peas, soybeans, and spinach for the first time. All have sprouted and are flourishing!

Just found out about here, I cannot believe I ever went to Home Depot or Houston Garden, both with awful service and sporadic inventory.

Come here!!!! They have everything for gardening on top of that, everyone is very friendly and know what they’re talking about. Will never return to HD.

I love this place! Great staff and super friendly as well as helpful. This is a true gem in Houston and they have everything you need for whatever type of gardening you do.

I went to this store many years ago for dog food, my dog was a very picky eater and we found him something he liked here. I went just for the dog food and never looked around at the place and I drive pass it all the time. After all this rain , my plants took a beating and plenty of new pests were eating all my plants. After careful reading, I found a product to solve all my problems, only problem was i could not find it anywhere. Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, where do I go next. I was about to go home and order on Amazon, when I said , somewhere in Houston they have this stuff!!! Sitting in the Home Depot parking lot on 610 South Loop, i had a total recall of Southwest Fertilizer!! So off I went, I had no idea how cool this place is, they have Everything for your garden!! I found what I needed the second I walked in the door and I spoke to Josh , this dude knows all there is to know about everything he sells and every problem you may be having with your lawn and garden, he's got a solution,! Pet accessories, tools, they have everything. I love this store, I wondered around and found so many things I didn't need but wanted! Also I found a cute gray kitty cat next to the sprinklers, just snoozing away. If you've had it with plant consuming worms and pests, this place can help you find the stuff to get rid of it. If you think your green thumb is on vacation , there is a return ticket at Southwest Fertilizer! Peace out! Stay safe!

I always have a good experience here. Even when I choose to go in between freeze weekends and the plants are scarce, I'm sure to find something I want for the garden! And I did! The employees are always helpful, kind and easy to be found for assistance (unlike in the big box stores). They're always going to be my number one garden store pick!

Love this place. Nice prices and helpful staff. I like having my soil carried to my car, and I like to tip the carriers. That seems kinda old timey. Anyway, I have fun picking out plants (I got the very most I can fit in my outdoor space) here and will return.
Tip- Tiny bag of expanded shale is only $1 less than the 40lb bag. Get the big one! Unless you really only want a little bit.

Loved the varierity being offered. I studied a lot my plants needs, different npk to use, microlife, seeds and this place had the prpduct I knew I needed but did not know were available in store. I will stop coming Homdepot or Lowes for this place.
On product I got yesterday was 40% cheaper than some where else in Amazon. A must place to visit if you are a garden lover.
Also got help to load items in my car.

Great local business to support. Bought all my backyard garden soil there plus seeds, seed potatoes, fertilizers, seedlings, amendments. Employees are extremely knowledgeable and helpful (except for one). Will continue to be a customer here.
