I can’t say enough positive things about our experience w New Roots. Our front yard started as a sad swamp and their design and installation transformed it and the entire curb appeal of
our home. They listened to our aesthetic preferences and came up w creative solutions for our drainage issues. So many of my neighbors have come by to tell me how great it looks. We will definitely be using them for future projects and would recommend them to anyone.

I had a fantastic experience working with New Roots. Jim and his team did a complete overhaul of my yard with black star gravel and a beautiful bed filled with brightly colored and happy plants. They did all of this in 2 days and the price was very realistic. Over the past few months, they have been responsive and helpful with providing tips and advice for me to keep everything alive and beautiful. They've gone above and beyond as I'm sure I email and call far too much. If you're looking for someone with a boatload of knowledge and experience that will turn your yard into a place you actually want to spend time in, consider New Roots.

Great experience working with the team at New Roots Landscaping. We received a couple bids and deciding between 2 competitive contractors we went New Roots for the design and we really like the finished product! We appreciated the attention to the design, thoughtfulness and responsiveness throughout the process. Gabriella and Jim really did a good job and the team doing the electrical, planting and sprinklers followed suit. They were on time, cleaned up and very professional. When some of the plants didn’t take, they scheduled time to come replace. Thanks for all the hard work. We are enjoying our new fountain and bench on the front porch!

Can't say enough good things about how my yard turned out. I was very nervous through the whole process, but Jim and Gabrielle held my annoying hand every step of the way. I have worked with 3 other companies that kept putting band aids on my poor drainage and soil problems. Jim and Gabriella came up with a plan, it was a bit like having your pipes redone at first, very expensive for things I thought I wouldn't really see but we were sick of replacing sod annually and watering all summer for the grass to die anyways. The team came in and took several layers of clay off the top of my yard, regraded the entire yard and added some amazing fertilizers, compost and other organic stuff before planting a beautiful ground cover that is much more drought tolerant than grass and better roots to keep all my new dirt in place. They cleaned and replanted all my beds and found me the perfect tree and boy am I picky! They added pavers all around my yard and pool creating a really beautiful natural looking area that is functional and stunning. I can't tell you how happy I am and have high hopes that I will have a beautiful yard for years to come instead of having to sink time and money into it every year to patch problems. I very much appreciate their expertise and their team's execution. The end result is better than I could have ever imagined.

It was wonderful to work with New Roots Landscaping to overhaul our backyard space. After meeting with 5 other landscapers, I felt pretty stressed about what to do. When meeting with Jim and Gabriella from New Roots, their knowledge, quick ability to survey the area and make recommendations, put me at ease. In a matter of ~an hour they had taken measurements of the space and sketched a plan that I loved based on my style and needs. The work was done carefully but efficiently. We LOVE the end result. It’s beautiful and functional for our family! Highly recommend!

Love this place the staff is always helpful and full of great tips so don’t be shy and ask. If you want a nursery with a more personal experience that’s also reasonably priced go ahead and check it out. I’ve bought over 20 plants here and it actually gave me my magical never ending pepper plant haha anyway here’s a baby monsters and I forgot the name of the other that I got from there

Thank you to the New Roots team: Jim and Gabriella, landscape designers; Jaime, master stone artist; and Danny, Jose, and Victor, who worked hard in the Houston heat and humidity to bring our new landscape into fruition. Twenty-one years ago, we hired Jim, Jaime, and company to build our first landscape project, and it was now time for a refresh. The new plan, plus hard work, has been a total success! The design is unique and fits the environment perfectly. The stonework is amazing! The plant selection is perfect. Jim and Gabriella listened to my ideas, incorporating them into the grand design. My husband and I decided to give this project to each other in celebration of our 55th wedding anniversary. We are so glad we did! We highly recommend New Roots for all of your landscaping needs.

I simply cannot say enough kind things about my experience with New Roots Landscaping. From the initial contact and quotation until the follow up visit after the project, both Jim and Gabriela were accommodating and so easy with which to work. This was a huge project - including installation of a new backyard patio, new fencing, installation of an irrigation system and a complete re-vamp of our existing landscaping in both our front and back yards. New Roots offered a design nicer than I could have possibly imagined. In addition, the work crews were prompt and completed the job faster than I thought possible. I am so proud of our new look! I would highly recommend these guys to anyone considering landscaping projects!

Aaron and his team went above and beyond my expecations. He delivered on time, on budget and with excellent skills and top notch customer service. I cannot reccomend this company enough! He installed artifical turf in my side yard and plants, mulch and trellises in my backyard. Just did a super job, very tidy and could not have been more helpful.

I legitimately find my plants from New Roots to be significantly healthier than other places. Look at all the new growth on this string of pearls after just a couple weeks of bringing it home! And it was a big one priced super well.
They also have a lot of unusual varieties of plants and their inventory is always changing, I love going to see what they have. If you’re looking for a specific thing, they’re a small nursery and they may or may not have it. But every time I go there are really unique and interesting plants, priced much better than competitors, that are always super healthy and ready to thrive when I get them home. My favorite little nursery in Houston.

Its been awhile since Ive been back here. Brought my husband here and fell in love with all the new beautiful plants. Jessica was amazing as soon as we walked in she assisted us and answered questions quickly. She helped us find what we were looking for. Very kind and welcoming. Sorry we came 30 minutes before closing.... but we will definitely return. Loved the pig plaque 🐖.

The easiest five star review in awhile! We stopped by more on a reconnaissance mission as our planting area was not prepared yet. This lovely place is like a little garden oasis amidst a concrete jungle. The city kind of disappeared for a few minutes with a lovely & well kept variety of choices sprinkled with garden decor here & there and bees and butterflies busy at work. The staff gave us time to browse then mentioned the 20% sale on most items. We ended up purchasing two climbing plants we had not intended to buy today because of the wonderful service. We love this neighborhood gem & look forward to going back for the rest of the project.

I spent 30 mins driving here in rush hour traffic on a Friday because my cousin recommended it. I thought they closed at 6, but upon pulling into the parking lot noticed they were locking up at 4:59. I rolled down my window to ask, and Erica notified me that they close at 5 during the fall. I thanked her and went to leave but she stopped me and invited me in. I promised to be quick, but she encouraged me to take my time. She was warm, friendly, made a point to learn my name, ask me questions, and provide recommendations. This kind of service is hard to come by today. I am beyond impressed, and was bestowed the same kind, friendly demeanor by every other employee. The plants were STUNNING and well cared for, not to mention well priced. And they have so many unique plants that you will not find elsewhere. A sincere and genuine thanks - not only will I be back, I will rant and rave about you all over Houston!

New Roots is my go to plant nursery with perfect plants for the Houston area, and excellent advice any time I’ve needed it.

They stand by their products and the few times I had an issue with my care of a plant, someone was always available by phone to help me troubleshoot.

In addition to good indoor and outdoor plant selection, they carry everything you need in the way of soil, mulch, compost, fertilizer, etc. and some selection of pots. Great prices too, especially for the Heights.

I love this little Heights nursery! They also offer landscaping, hence the name. I've shopped at New Roots dozens of times and all of my plants from them have been healthy and pest free. The prices are super fair, they have a great selection of everything from succulents to herbs and pollinator-friendly plants. Even the pots, birdbaths, and other doodads are very reasonably priced. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. I love the hand written info signs and how when I say 'see you later' to the main caretaker, she replies 'See you tomorrow!' 😂First time she said that I said, 'Oh, you know me so well already!'

A great big shoutout to Gabriela, Jim, Chano and Chrissy at New Roots for the amazing job they did with my front yard!

My yard began as only dirt and 2 great trees. This allowed dirt to runoff when raining or using the sprinklers.

They were able to reimagine it using stone, greenery, plants, and my swing. Turning it into a beautiful, usable, welcoming space greater than I ever imagined.

Please note that my neighbors greatly appreciate the change also.

I have been to a few nurseries during lockdown. This was my favourite. The service is super. The selection good 1.50 herbs 300$ lawn ornaments.
Wide selection of native plants. Service that puts you at ease,there’s is ample parking, and super con isn’t off North. Main. A first choice in are that has several nurseries

helped . Jessica helped me chose some native plants that brighten my yard while being low maintenance and resultant. The customer service is out standing reasonably priced and continently lp located, this a first choice

We had a basic strip of grass on the side of our house and wanted to put in raised beds. New Roots came by and helped us set the vision and execute it beautifully. We are in love with the space now!! They also helped us fix an old irrigation system for about $5k less than we thought. They were incredibly thoughtful, smart, and professional. Would absolutely recommend them and looking forward to working with them again in the future.

Extremely happy with the results. The team did an excellent job with drainage, plant selection, overall design, and they left the property clean when finished.
