New Roots designed and installed our front beds. We were unsure what we wanted beyond a cottage style garden. They met with us a few times to discuss our needs and options and we decided on a stack stone raised bed. They paid a lot of attention to the style of our home with regard to how to shape the beds and the type of plants to include. They were personable, professional, timely, and responsive. The finished product is beyond what we could have imagined. They did what was needed without nickel and diming us when a new need arose( e.g., some extra gravel for driveway). They balanced consideration of our needs with their own artistry. We will continue to do business with them in the future, and I know we will love the time spent on our front porch even more as we watch our garden grow. Highly recommend!

New Roots totally revamped our backyard. They listened to what I was hoping for and wanted and presented a beautiful design. The installation team was professional and courteous. Could not be more pleased with the service and results.

New Roots turned my barren, boring backyard into a beautiful oasis! The stone patio and.beds a designed perfectly for the size and scale of our yard. They also solved some drainage issues. They did all the work in less than a week with minimal disruption. Great job, loved working with Jim on the design, and love the results!

I called Jim and Gabriela at New Roots after a near-flooding disaster during Imelda at my home in Garden Oaks to get help with drainage and landscaping. They came on time and gave a lot of thought to the best way to improve drainage and solve a few landscaping issues left over from the building of the home. Jim made appropriate recommendations, and their team came within a few days. They added rot boards under the existing fencing, re-graded the property, re-covered with black star gravel, uncovered drainage the builder had negligently covered over, and then re-planted parts of the landscape that had been poorly installed. I was very impressed with the timeliness, the work and the creativity they showed for problem-solving. I would definitely recommend them to other homeowners.

These guys were great — I asked them to help fix my messed up yard, and they did, with good advice, nice design, great crews, and lovely plants, all accomplished quickly and at a fair price. Would definitely recommend Jim & Gabriela and their team.

My yard used to be the worst on the block. Now total strangers stop and tell me how great it looks. Jim and Gabriela really listened to my unconventional ideas and executed them perfectly. The men doing the work were timely, responsive and professional. They were even nice to my dogs. The whole experience was excellent.

What a great, quirky plant store! The employees were incredibly helpful and kind and provided valuable information. There was a huge selection of very healthy plants that grow well in Houston, including several unusual varieties! I bought a plant I had never seen before and I rarely get to have that happen with all the plant babies I own! So fun to come across something new! This store is a gem!! Definitely will be back!

Jim and Gabriela from New Roots did a great job with our front yard landscaping. We had a small space that had undergone several face-lifts and we finally committed to a full overhaul when we saw their design. Their design was creative and brought the skill and eye we needed to bring our space to life. It is truly beautiful.

We had a wonderful experience with New Roots Landscaping. Jeff and Gabriela were very responsive and great to work with. They came up with the perfect design for our backyard sanctuary and executed it almost immediately. We highly recommend them.

I used New Roots over a year ago to build a fence to hide my AC units. They also planted Star Jasmine along the fence. The Jasmine have taken off and look great. They strung the wires so the vines grew in properly. The other person I hired to do my long fences made a mess. It pays to have someone like Jim do your yard. The herb pots they planted for me last summer, froze during the winter but have come back to life. Jim's great! Will hire him to landscape my next house once I sell.

Jim and Gabriela were great to work with. They really listened to my ideas and plant preferences to design a garden I was very excited to have. They were able to adjust their design several times to align with my vision and budget. I’ll probably be calling on them again for future projects.

We enjoyed our experience this past fall with New Roots Landscaping. They listened to our ideas and were able to incorporate some of our existing plants into the design. They also added some hand cut rock work that really made the whole design come together. Gabriella incorporated all Texas natives that attract bees and butterflies. They completed the work quickly and even came back to replace a few plants and stepping stones that weren’t to our liking. Now we are just waiting to win yard of the month!

This review is a little overdue, but boy do I love New Roots! They did the landscaping on our front yard and we're absolutely thrilled with what they did. Gabriela and Jim definitely know what they're doing, and they're both very friendly and professional. Highly recommend them!

A+ experience! I have used New Roots twice now. The first time they got a house ready for me to sell and it added a ton of value and was done beautifully.
This go around they came for a couple of projects I’ve been wanting to do for awhile. Complete re-do of my front yard and courtyard. *THEIR CREW WAS AWESOME* They were all so nice and courteous and really worked to do a job to be proud of. The other thing I was pleased with is the quality of plants they used. Everything was picked out for what I wanted to focus on: *butterflies* *bees* and *birds*. There was a lot of thought put into how it was designed and what to use.
I will absolutely be using this company in the future. I love two spaces I previously dreaded. Thank you for the beautiful work!

If I was asked to describe New Roots Landscaping in one word I would use “extreme”

Extremely professional- I contacted several landscapers to complete a project in my yard and they were the only ones to respond. Understanding that all landscapers were busy they explained their time constraints. We set on an agreed upon time and they continued to follow up.

Extremely creative - I provided Gabrielle with little to no direction and she designed an outstanding plan that met all of my “wants”.

Extremely knowledgeable- Similar to design, I had no idea on plants. Again. Perfect.

Extremely thorough- Recognizing the limitations of my yard and challenges with its current state they discussed what was required to modify to be able to support the design.

I highly endorse New Roots Landscaping.

Jim and Gabriela put in some beautiful landscaping for us. Our backyard was looking pretty drab and I wanted to have a fuller garden. They were booked out pretty far when I called but I wasn’t in a hurry. If anything, I thought it was a sign they did good work and were popular. Our work eventually got delayed even more due to ridiculous amounts of rain but that’s pretty unavoidable in Houston. The end result was worth it. Jim and Gabriela were great to work with and were very responsive whenever I messaged/called them. Gabriela especially was very detailed and made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it, while also offering her own expertise and advice. A few plants had an issue taking after planting and they actually came back to replant a few smaller things. Not being a gardener myself, I look forward to using them going forward to cultivate my garden.

We can’t say enough good things about New Roots. We love our new landscaping for our home in the Heights. They spent quality time to ensure a design that met our needs and even helped to ensure during the Christmas freeze we did not lose any plants. I would highly recommend.
