Landscaping reviews in Houston, Texas

Love Wabash and love saying hi to Challis (the parrot) every time we visit!
Just brought home our Christmas Tree, second year purchasing from Wabash. -
My plants have been LOVING Jacey’s worm elixir. My garden is thriving and I have more blooms than ever. I love that the organic formula can give my garden all the micronutrients they need without about altering my NPK levels or worrying about leaf or root burn. I’m on my second bottle and fully plan on repurchasing often! Jacey is such a gem and the reason I look forward to coming to wabash.

Great place to buy starter plants. Nice and friendly staff!
The staff are VERY helpful .. bring all of your questions! -
Great place for Saturday afternoon, plants, dog food and feed. Fresh eggs for sale.

Greatest place in town for everything you need for the honey bees. This place often has free class on how to start having a beehive. Some regular staff have great knowledge on beehive products and ready to help just in case you need a 'super' or 'foundation' for the bees.

This is such a fun store! They have animal feed and garden stuff, as advertised. They also have bee-keeping supplies, bird feeders, books, chickens, ducks, and other small livestock. The owner and her staff are very knowledgable and helpful.

I have been a loyal customer of Wabash Feed and Garden on North Shepherd for years, always appreciating their wide selection and friendly service. Even when I noticed items infested with fungus gnats, including open compost bags out back, I chose to steer clear of those products and continued to recommend the store.
However, during my recent visit on March 11, 2025, I encountered a troubling experience. At checkout, after making a custom purchase exceeding $175, I was unexpectedly asked for my ID—a first in all my years shopping here. Without seeking my consent, the clerk used an "encrypted" phone to photograph both my ID and receipt, citing issues with customers disputing charges with their credit companies. When I raised concerns, the manager assured me that the images would be deleted after the charge processed.
This practice raises significant privacy issues. While Texas law may not explicitly prohibit businesses from photographing customer IDs without consent, such actions can infringe upon individual privacy rights. I am currently consulting legal counsel to address this matter.
Additionally, I observed a decline in employee demeanor; a couple of staff members were borderline hostile during my visit. This shift might be linked to the company's low Indeed employer rating of 2.3 as of March 12, 2025.
I caution future customers to be aware of these concerning practices and the potential implications for their personal information. To safeguard your privacy in an age where data breaches are common, you may want to limit purchases to under $175 to avoid this invasive ID photographing policy. -
Hi! I recently bought two baby chickens and they genuinely have been the best things to ever pop into my life. The cashier and worker (guy with glasses and a hispanic guy) were really kind and even gave me a paper with instructions on how to care for the babies properly. i love my babies so much! highly recommend this place if you’re in need of beautiful baby chickens. thank you so much again! everyone here is so friendly

I went today to ask for help on a matter I thought they could help with. I was told to get off the property if I wasn’t there to buy anything. I found the employee very hostile and I was shook. I was not a thief in the area. In the past, I have gone there with my dog and bought things for him. I was considering doing the same today after making the request/seeing if they could help me. After multiple hostile interactions with the employees, I will make sure to take my money somewhere.
And after reading reviews of the awful attitude of the employees, I’m not surprised at my treatment. -
Such a beautiful place! I bought a chicken here and the nice worker with the glasses helped us out. He was very sweet with chickens, you can tell he loves his work! Thank you! I highly recommend coming here for any feed, plants, soil or chickens! It was also not expensive.

We decided to go pick up some pies at flying saucers pies for the 4th of July weekend. On the way to the pie house we took East Shepard we noticed a plant place . Beautiful and very clean . My wife took off to look for a special plant she has been looking for .
She kept looking for her plant called white
Portulaca. Me I look for antiques and yard
decorations. To my surprise I found this medium sized plant
Cart . I checked it out and it looked very sturdy . Was welded by a professional. The cart was a bit expensive , but I haven't seen one this size . It was perfect for our yard . So , I bought it . Wabash plant place is small but very well equipped
Supplies for your yard
Pet feed , plants and decorations for your yard . They do NOT offer military or senior citizens discounts . Parking is very small but they do have handicap parking. Will be visiting again .
This is my home with my wife's new planter cart . -
The store looks fantastic. Workers are very helpful. I bought four hens, and one had a respiratory infection. Chickens are nonrefundable, so I took her to the vet and got a $320 bill. Three meds and a correction to her beak as it was very damaged, causing her not to eat well. Be careful and thoroughly inspect.

They've lost me as a customer thanks to sales person named Chris. Prices on product was clearly marked $22, I purchased 2 along with other items. After he rung everthing up I noticed he had charged me the wrong price$24 each. I walked him back to the shelf to show him it was cheaper than he charged be (because of course he didn't believe me). After seeing the price, he told me that they were in the process of raising prices and that I had to pay the higher price. Then tried to shame me by saying, "my god its only $4, if you don't like it you can bring you reciept back and complain to somebody else!".... I work hard for my money. I've been a customer since before they moved from downtown. And I've spent a lot of money at this store, now I'd rather go somewhere else that treats me as a valued customer & person!!

I love this place, I have been here twice now and will go back again and again and again. Never enough time for me to just look around, maybe that is a good thing for me😁. Reminds me of when I was a kid and we went to the feed stores back home in Louisiana. I highly recommend!!!! I had a problem and sent them an email and Rhondda was very prompt in returning the email and helping resolve the issue. PLUS !!, she gave me details on the problem, so helpful and very good customer service. They carry products that you just can't find in the big box stores. Customer service is awesome as are the knowledgeable staff. If you looking for a down home atmosphere in the city, this is it. Experience it for yourself. You will be glad you did.

The first place in North Houston that looks just like they're online pics 🥰😍
They sell almost everything for plant nature lovers from; car decals, shirts, garden decorations, farm feed and keepsakes! Indoor plants is a midsize selection but lovely. Thanks Wabash -
New location is much nicer and roomy. Service was better, even though items aren't separately priced still. Fresh farm eggs and cute 2 puppies and kittens.
Describe it as an Upscale Feed Store, with higher prices. -
The staff at Wabash is always friendly and willing to answer all my gardening and yard related questions. Trust me, I need all the help I can get! Love supporting local small business too.

Shopping at Wabash is all about the customer service experience! Couldn’t find a more competent, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind staff anywhere. From gardening, to healthy pet supplies and a wide assortment of carefully curated retail
items, Wabash has a little of everything for everyone. It’s also a one-stop-shop for laying hens, feed, and other farm birds/animals. Not to mention, very fair prices on dog food. They carry items that Natural Pawz no longer has in stock (Fromm, No Hide Chews, Orijen, & Stella & Chewys) which is vital for my dog’s needs. Make sure to say hello to Chivas, the resident Macaw. 🦜 -
Great place but they lose a star because it's a safety hazard everytime you exit the parking lot because they created a blind spot with their landscaping.
Otherwise amazing store. I'll update my review if they fix. -
Fantastic place, Friendly staff, Healthy stock. Highly recommended

We came here on a trip to Houston and my sister wanted to buy some chickens before we went home. Never did we think we would buy an Ayam Cemani!! We got this sweet boy, a Guinea fowl, and some other chicks of different breeds. The guy helping us was very helpful and kind, we’re keeping our promise of taking care of his beloved rooster and we definitely will come back the next time:) the rooster is named Bartholomew and he came all the way from Texas to his new home in Alabama:)
