Plumbing reviews in Katy, Texas

My AC unit was causing a clog in my upstairs sink. After some tinkering with it myself, I decided to call in a professional. I called Clinton plumbing and they were here in under 30 minutes. The price was fair, and the service was great. Randy was professional and informative. He explained everything he was doing and even gave tips for preventative maintenance. I'd definitely recommend this company and hire them again if ever the need.

Extremely impressed with this company. We contacted them this morning about an upstairs bathtub leak and Randy & Avery both arrived promptly in the timeframe we were communicated. They quickly identified the issue, gave us a reasonable price, and returned shortly after with the parts needed for the fix. All told everything we needed (including adding a safety valve to our water heater, which we didn't mention on the original call) was done in just a few hours. Randy was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and gave us some very helpful tips as new homeowners. Will definitely be calling this company back if we have any future plumbing issues. Strongly recommend!

A 2 star mainly because 1 or 5 is too cliche. I dont like when I read most negative reviews of places because they're typically over silly things. That said, I felt a negative review was in order here unfortunately.
I called CR Plumbing out to fix a leak outside my house near my meter. Water was filling up my box and making a mess with mud and water in front of my house. I wanted it fixed. The crew who came were great. It was a tough job, no doubt. They spent all day there and finally found my meter to be running when they isolated pipe under my driveway. They did the work and I assumed it was done. Expensive, but it was hard work. So far so good.
Then the leak did NOT go away. I called and asked for someone to go out and check and to call me when they got there to discuss. A few days later the owner went out and called me after leaving to tell we everything looked good. I said, no, everything does not look good. Did you see the water and mud? He clarified that he meant what his crew had done was holding. I asked how he knew that. He said your meter isnt running. I asked if he turned the valve at the meter back on. He said, oh, that was off? I had had an irrigation guy out a couple days earlier looking at things and asked him to turn the water off at meter and bail the water out so the plumber could troubleshoot easier. How did he not notice? Anyway, he proceeded to tell me it was my french drain pipe most likely because it's perforated and they can really put out a lot of water. I said, but when your crew dug up the lines, the three of us saw that the french drain pipe was cut underground and was not connected to any drain in the backyard, it was open to dirt. He said, well then it must be your irrigation system. I said, but that valve has been closed for over 3 weeks exactly because of that concern and when your crew isolated segments of my water pipe, they ruled out the segment with my irrigation valve, so apparently you think my irrigation valve is holding. I asked if he could please do actual tests on my line instead of a visual inspection. I told him I'd pay for it. He said that wouldn't be necessary, he'd do it because he stands by his work.
A few days later they came out. They removed my meter, drained my water line, filled with pressurized air, then tested for pressure drop. They saw no pressure drop. The owner called me and said my water line is definitely not leaking, it's most likely my irrigation system. So I asked him if he closed the irrigation valve. He said they didn't touch anything on my irrigation system. I had turned my sprinklers back on a day or so earlier because after 4 weeks of no sprinklers grass was looking bad and clearly they were not the source of new water that kept appearing after bailing the water out of my meter box multiple times since. I told him if he said the line showed no pressure drop, then he just proved that the irrigation line is fine because I had opened that valve and he said he didn't close it. He said, okay, maybe up to the vacuum breaker, but it could be a sprinkler head leaking. I said, but the vacuum breaker is open. If there was a leak in a sprinkler head, wouldn't the air push the water downstream of the vac breaker through the leaky head and wouldn't that cause pressure drop on your test that you said showed no pressure drop? That was the end of our conversation. He told me he stands by his work and that his work is holding.
I'm sorry to have felt the need to post this review. I really am. However, paying $3500 to address a clearly visible leak only to have someone offer bad explanations for the cause and ultimately wash their hands of me after running out of excuses is just a bad showing. -
They came to assess my plumbing problems. They gave me different alternatives to fix my problems. They clearly explained each alternative and the cost of repair. The technician suggested the least expensive but most effective alternative. I truly thank them for their honesty and professionalism. The best and exceptionally honest plumbing service.
