Luis and his crew got our bathroom remodel done on schedule and it really came out nice. Old South construction was very easy to work with and responsive the entire project. Very happy with new remodel and would recommend this Old South to anyone looking for a contractor in Ellis county

Old South Construction did an amazing job flawlessly repairing a hole in our ceiling after a Spectrum tech accidentally stepped through. They were professional, quick, punctual, and handled everything—sheetrock repair, painting, and electrical—with top-notch quality. The ceiling and room with new paint looks perfect now. Will definitely use them again and highly recommend!

The entire staff felt like family. They were consistently checking in and updating me on the progress. I’m not a creative person and had trouble picking out things that would match or go well together and Katie was there every step of the way helping me. I can’t wait to work with them on additional remodels we will be doing in the future!

We had a major reno on our home that started with a slab leak. This reno took 4 1/2 months, and we thank our lucky stars we got Old South Construction to help us. From the demo to laying tile, painting, refurbishing and refinishing cabinets to new kitchen countertops, backsplash, laundry room and dry bar areas, this required an incredible amount of work and extensive coordination, expertise, and patience. If you are considering any level of renovation in your home and are looking for a contractor with superior knowledge, connections with people who have amazing craftsmanship, and who works with grace and integrity, look no further than Old South Construction.

If we could give a 10 star review we would.
We had a horrific event with our 65 year old bathroom cast-iron plumbing. The floor was covered in half an inch of you know what!
All of the sheet-rock from the vanity hallway and into the bathroom was mitigated at 20 inches high.
The Old South Construction team was the most professional crew we have ever seen and right down to every detail.
They even saved our precious 1959 original to the house Toothbrush Barn which made us very happy indeed.
Also Katie the coordinator and Ashtyn in billing were so patient with us old folks.
And William and Rachel - the owners let us know they would help in any way the could.
They even give a full year warranty on labor!
That’s icing on the cake !

In Feb-Mar 2025, my mother's home had a massive water leak in the primary bathroom that caused extensive water damage throughout the house, turning into an unexpected, major restoration project. Her insurance company (Travelers) recommended Old South Construction, and after seeing many positive reviews, we made the best decision by hiring them.

Katie/Katelyn, Ashtyn, Rachel, and Will were all phenomenal. Their constant communication and reassurance regarding project timeline, material selections, and collaborating with her insurance adjuster made the entire process smooth and hassle-free. From the construction crew to the front office, everyone single person we interacted with was kind, professional, and respectful.

The end result of my mom's home turned out INCREDIBLE. The level of care and attention to detail they put into the work, as if it were their own home, is unmatched by any construction company we've worked with before. We could not have asked for a better outcome. My sister was impressed after constantly hearing us praise about this experience, she ended up hiring them for her own kitchen remodel just a month later.

I will absolutely be reaching out to Old South Construction again in the future regarding my own home remodel in the future :)

    Horrible experience, do not use!
Way overcharged, tech was incredibly rude and aggressive, repair didn’t last 24 hours and they hung up on me. Avoid at all cost.

Called on a Tuesday and set up a repair Monday from 2-5pm. Right after realized I need the earlier window. Call everyday up till Friday. Got a call at 520 saying they were on their way. Told them no one was there so the would reschedule for Monday. Monday no one showed so I called. They sent someone the next day and said we needed a heating element and they would have to order. Left the dryer tore apart in the kitchen and said the part would be in on Thursday. So I paid for half. I finally fixed it myself but still no response. I did get someone to answer a could of days ago that said they would call me right back. This has been horrible. $249 for a $18 part.

I do not recommend this appliance repair. They gave a 2 hour window when they would arrive and they were almost an hour late. And he never attempted any repair on my washing machine, he turned it on then he looked underneath, said it was a bad bearing and said it would cost $600 to repair it. So I paid him $89 for his service call and he left. I got a different repair company out for a second opinion and they properly diagnosed the problem. New computer board and vibration censor. And the repair didn’t cost $600 like this first one quoted.
