Protex is very professional and does a great job landscaping. I had a problem with HOA and they knew the Agency, called on my behalf and didnt get fined. The yard got mowed and all is well. I recomend Protex.

The short version is... steer clear of this company at all costs!!

The long version... In the summer of '24 Protex was referred to me, and I called them for some dirt work and sod replacement on my yard.
The first issue was their inability to adhere to the agreed start schedule.

Once they did start, the first thing they did was pull up a brick paver walkway that wasn't part of the project scope and had never been talked about. While they did put it back without charge, they didn't put it back correctly as the resulting walkway was not level.

The primary part of the job was to regrade the property to allow for proper drainage from the backyard to the street. This included the removal of two brick retaining walls on either side of the driveway.

I was attentive to the job progress the entire time and never did Protex bother to take any grade measurements to ensure proper drainage slope from back to front. The final result is that the backyard STILL does not drain properly.

Cleanup of the brick retaining walls didn't go smoothly either as they left 2 large piles of brick pieces in a side area strip of grass, perfect to be picked up by a lawn mower and thrown into car or house windows.
I contacted Protex twice about returning to clean up their mess, but they never did, and I finally did it myself.
This project cost me a nice chunk of change and didn't come close to addressing the drainage issue.

I do NOT recommend this company.

Edit: the company's response, while disappointing, is not particularly surprising considering the job they did. There was zero issue with payment. They received half the payment for the job on the day the job was started, and the second half of the payment was made according to their arrangements they after the job was completed.

In the end, their response to my review only reinforces my belief that Protex does subpar work and doesn't care about their customers.

Protex does excellent work. We use them for lawn maintenance and we love the way the lawn looks when the job is finished. I would recommend recommend them to my friends and family.

From quotation to execution, Matt and his team really take their time do do it right. They took time to go over the project, provide examples and make recommendations. This is our first project with the company, won’t be our last.

I couldn't find anyone in my local area that I just moved to. I was lucky to run in into one of these workers, he gave me the phone number and they answered quickly and we're very professional. They came out for free to give me a quote, the quote was at a very reasonable and fair price they were out that very same week to do the job. I have almost half an acre and these guys did amazing!

Highly recommend Protex Landscaping! They just completed a very long stamped concrete walkway and patio area in our backyard and it turned out fabulous! We are extremely pleased with the results as well as the entire experience. Will definitely contact Protex Landscaping again for any future landscape projects!

Replaced front area plants, reworked border, applied fertilizer and mulch. Overall, great job. Provided a drawing with the estimate. Excellent landscaping crew. Job complete by 1 PM. Price was very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Texas Landscaping completed a landscape design last fall and, per our request, completed the final parts of the installation this spring. Justin was easy to work with and managed the crew expertly. He was especially helpful when I wanted to make changes to the plan, which he accomodated quickly and with no issues. I would highly recommend them.

Justin and his crew at Texas Landscape & Design are great to work with! They are very conscientious and take great pride in their work. They come every week to maintain my landscaping in The Woodlands and always ask if everything is okay or do I need them to do anything else. I would highly recommend them!

These guys put in a sprinkler system plus a drain that runs from my backyard to the front street that will help with some standing water I had during the rain. I couldn't have asked for a better job. From the owner to the crew, they were professional, hard working and ensured the job was done right. Great job all the way around! Thank you!

They had great communication and worked with us to get the right plants and design.

I have worked with this company for a couple years now and always had good results. Owner emphasized creek beds and boulder accents to help remove excess water from our flower beds. He also replaced older over grown shrubs with new dwarf plants that will not get over grown after a few years. I would recommend this company for new landscape design because they will recommend plants that will last and not just look good for the first year or two.

We used the company to redo some old flower beds and fix our drainage problem. Owner was very professional and was on the jobsite the majority of the time. They installed a dry creek bed around our foundation with a pipe and ran the water out to the curb. They took out our old shrubs and installed new plants that are low maintenance and do well in this area. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a good residential company with excellent customer service.
