Kevin arrived as scheduled and did a great job quickly identifying the electrical problem and fixing it.

We were in an emergency situation, we called around and finally called Texas Star Services at 5:30 on a Friday night. Kevin said he was on a job, but could be there around 7 pm. Right at 7 pm he showed up. Kevin checked a few things, then went straight to our garage panel, after a quick test he told us to call Oncor immediately. We didn't have an electrically problem in the home but somewhere with the wires underground. HE WAS RIGHT, at 4:30 am we had full power again. Most electricians would have raked us over the coals for a call out a 7 pm, but Kevin charged us a minimal trip fee and left. Thanks, Kevin we will be calling you again.

Kevin Nguyen brought so much more than licensed electrical competence. He solved a challenging issue in our kitchen that required an array of skills, that clearly came from him having had a career as a home builder. We had a malfunctioning microwave in an enclosure with custom trim. The replacement we purchased was not designed to be a replacement. He constructed and improvised a fantastic solution. It fits and looks perfect!

He clearly has a hard work ethic, and he will be my electrician until he decides to hang it up.

Kevin came out 3 years ago to put coolant in our ac hence the 2 stars in this review. Well our ac needed more coolant and so we reached back out to Kevin again, but this time he told us Irving is too far. Dude, you came here 3 yrs ago!!! Then his next line was "Well I'm booked til next week." Really?! Then why'd you call us right back?? Baker Brothers it is!!

Called Kevin at 6pm on Friday night after I messed up putting in a switch. He was promptly at my house Satuday morning. He reviewed my mistake. Found the problem and educated me on how to do the work myself in the future. Kevin is AWESOME! Figured out my problem and fixed it quickly. He is now my go to guy!

Read the reviews on google and thought I would give Kevin a try. Sent him the inspection report items with pictures a day in advance. He said would come at 9:00 am and did not show up until 10:00 am. It was the first sign something was not right. Physically walked him through the items needed fixed or reviewed. He quoted me $590 I told him that seemed high and I only had budgeted $400, he told me if I pay cash he would accept the $400. He left to pick up a $20 breaker at Home Depot.

When he returned I went through the inspection report again with him because their was an item not discussed. I kept asking him for a solution to the problem on the inspection report and in return, he kept explaining the problem. I knew the problem, I just wanted a solution. I'm not a certified electrician, that is why I was planning on paying him. He began to talk down to me like I'm a child. He used the phrase "let me explain it to you again for the second time." I have a wife, 4 kids and a Finance degree. Although I may be ignorant in the area of electricity, I'm not a incompetent person. I stop him immediately and said I don't appreciate his tone or attitude with me, I'm a customer and need to be treated with respect.

At that point, I asked myself do I really want to have this guy working on my house. I told him I appreciate him coming and asked him to leave. He left promptly. I then called Coopers Electric Service to fix my problem. The Lady on the phone said they could come the next day at 9:00 am. The two gentlemen showed up on time and resolved all the issues on the inspection report for $225. Wow what a difference in service and price. My experience with Kevin (Texas Star service) was not a good one. Poor customer service and poor pricing. I hope he changes or else he will be out of business. Kevin is an excellent electrician. He explained the issue and fixed them. He educated on the reasons behind our electrical issues in a understanding way. He also gave advice on future house projects. We plan to use him again for more electrician work. Excellent !!

I had an HVAC company out to look for a problem with my Air Conditioner. They not only misdiagnosed the problem but they tried to sell me on a lot of other things I didn't need for thousands of dollars.
I called Kevin at Texas Star Services, and he came that very afternoon, quickly diagnosed the problem with was just a shorted wire. A couple of wire nuts, later, my system ran as good as new. Don't get scammed by the fancy guys that advertise on the radio!

Kevin came on Saturday morning, as I could not be home during his regular hours. He was friendly, cheerful, and efficient. He did everything I needed and proposed several things to save me money. I will definitely use Kevin for all my electrical work.
