I had my dishwasher serviced as part of my lowes warranty. Service was excellent and the response time was one day to the next. The tech was really friendly and explained everything. He ordered the part and came back 2 days later and installed it. I am very satisfied. I think these low reviews are due to having Home shield warranties on very old and obsolete appliances. You cannot blame repair techs for todays short life products.
Got assigned company through American home shield, the didn’t put all info in report so my claim got denied, I called AHS and they sent report back for this company to modify and they kept talking in circles and was a huge language barrier, worst experience I’ve ever had with a vendor for home warranty company where the person on phone can’t understand me or effectively communicate and then tells me there’s no one else I can talk to, wasted a lot of time and money
Like a lot of others they were assigned by my home warranty co (AHS). Great experience! The tech arrived on time, quickly figured out the problem with my oven and advised he needed to order the parts. Second visit he again showed up on time with the correct parts and got my oven working like new!!
I can’t tell you how bad this service was. It was almost identical to those reviews before me. AHS service call for our Whirlpool washer. ACT arrives, isn’t in our home for more than 3 minutes. Tech tells us the spyder is broken and he’ll put in a request to AHS. He states to continue to use the washer if we can because it’s in bad shape. AHS calls to tell us that nothing is coverage because the tech reported that we abused our machine. The machine is literally 20 years old in May. Washers and dryers don’t last 20 years if they are being abused. Just say it’s going to cost too much or too old to fix and bam, it would have been done. We paid this company their $100 for less than 3 minutes and they will never be allowed back into our home. Afterward, I read the reviews and just got even more angry. This poor business practice is apparently a habitual one. I would recommend asking for a different service company if you get saddled with ACT on a repair. They do not care anything about you or your circumstances only that they receive their payment and will use un-truths to get out of doing the service work. It’s in all in the reviews.
ACT Appliance has been incredibly difficult to work with. We were assigned to ACT Appliance through our home warranty company, American Home Shield, when we reported that our refrigerator was not cooling and the freezer was not freezing. A technician from ACT Appliance has come to my home 5 different times over the course of 45 days. I have reported that the refrigerator/freezer still is not working after the 5th visit and, after 2 days of my persistent following up, ACT Appliance has offered a SIXTH appointment. The problem is that ACT Appliance continues to report back to my warranty company that the unit is still repairable, even though they seem to be incapable of repairing it. And because ACT Appliance is saying it is repairable, the warranty company is not giving me any options - they trust the information provided by their vendors. Unfortunately, I would not call ACT Appliance a trustworthy business. I hope that ACT Appliance tries to make this right by reporting an accurate status to AHS, but I have very little faith based on my experience with them over the past month and a half. If you can avoid working with ACT Appliance, that would be my recommendation. If ACT Appliance reads this review, please call me back. I have reached out by phone, email, and text consistently this week.
ACT came out to fix my dishwasher last week, said they needed a part. The part came in and we didn’t receive a call, instead we had to call them to chase down a time. They came out today and needed to replace the control panel. The repair technician came out took some stuff apart. Ended up causing a water leak. He ended up leaving saying “you need a plumber I cannot fix your dishwasher today.” Needless to say ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THEM! Horrible experience!
