I set up a free estimate, and Ben came to the house. He started off by saying that the concrete flooring was still wet, and that he could call his own mitigation people out to take a look. This was a strange thing to say, considering I JUST had Servpro take their equipment away the same day, and they are an incredibly large and reputable company. I declined his offer, saying I would speak with my mitigation company first.

At the end, he suggested again he call his mitigation company. I finally asked who it was, and lo and behold! It is Your Home Expert/Restoration Experts, which was the company that completely took advantage of me last year! I knew there was something fishy, when he kept pushing me to call out another company and asking for the insurance estimate.

I have a review on all platforms about my experience with YHE/ER. They are a slimy company that takes advantage of people in distress. Any company that recommends them should be ashamed of themselves. By association, they must also be in the business to make money, not take care of people. They even use the exact same estimate/document platform (joistapp).

To tie it all together, the estimate from Novastar came in at over $8,000 (NOT including materials), whereas the FOUR other quotes I requested all fell within $3-5000.

I can’t believe this is my kitchen now! Novastar took my old, outdated kitchen and turned it into a dream space. Adam worked with us to design the layout, and their team knocked it out of the park. REALLY grateful for the experience we had with Ben and his team. We had older doors upstairs that started to leak when it rained, and they completely replaces them and made them look like they were the original doors. Ben was great with communication, followed through with his word, and we are planning to use this company for future projects.

Extraordinary company. From the first phone call, to the very end when the project was completed, Ben and his contractors took exceptional care of every detail. This company provides professional painters. Not guys that occasionally paint. The prep was masterful, and I watched Michael painstakingly mask, fix cracks, sand, and caulk seams before any painting ever began. You would think that would be standard when you have a new door painted, but it turns out it's just not. I had previously hired who I thought was a professional painter, and when he didn't mask my beautiful new hinges, and didn't remove any of the door hardware, and didn't even lay down any plastic on the wood floor, and then started using a brush instead of spraying, I had to stop that person in their tracks and invite them to leave my house. This will not be your experience with Novastar . And when have you ever had contractors show up on time? Ben would call when he was on his way, arrived promptly, followed up - it's really quite refreshing to see this kind of service and quality craftsmanship. Recommend HIGHLY.
