Reviews of local pros in Porter, Texas

I called Summerlin Landscape , to get some flower bed design in my front yard. Sean came out and laid out a design and mentioned a few plants that he would put in to accentuate the front of the house. I wasn't sure at first , but he sounded like a good ole country boy that knew what he was talking about, so I let him do his thing . Well long story short , my neabors loved it , and I kinda do also . His work is top of the line. If your planning on getting some landscaping done , you can't go wrong with Sean and his quality work.

I was searching for someone to help us pull off the backyard we had envisioned in our minds and Sean beat that expectation by a long way. From the moment he came by to do the estimate to the day they completed the work, Sean showed great passion for my project. A breath of fresh air really. What I really enjoyed was not only was he very active in communicating with us on timelines and product availabilities, but he also got in there and got dirty with the crew. On top of his hands on approach, the way he treated everyone on the project showed me that I was lucky to have found the right man for the job! Great work, fantastic communication, and short timelines. I mean, what more can you want?!

WOW! We cannot say enough about Sean at Summerlin. A true landscaping artist! Sean is so reasonably priced and incredibly easy to work with. He took our blank canvas of a yard and created something so beautiful and practical. We are so happy with his work, and we would highly recommend him!

My wife reached out to Sean late last month about potentially coming in and sprucing up our backyard a bit. He came over in the first week of February to take a look at the backyard, hear out our ideas and figure out how to best to fix our backyard while staying within our budget. Sean did a fantastic job at bringing our backyard to life while staying right in our budget. On top of that, he managed to complete our job in two days.

We can't wait to work with Sean again.

We used Summerlin Landscaping for two projects: 1) to redo a bed where we had a large tree removed and 2) for our fence. We are extremely pleased with both. Sean is on time, thorough, and stands by his work. I feel like I am doing business with someone who is trustworthy. We have used other landscape companies in the past who never came when they said they would or did not stand by their warranties without constant hounding. We will continue to use Sean for all of our landscaping needs. He is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with!

Sean was very courteous and professional throughout our backyard landscaping project. His knowledge of plants and landscape architecture was invaluable. Even though there were multiple issues that will keep Sean from getting that fifth star, he worked hard to make us happy and I would recommend him to my friends.

From reading reviews, I felt Sean Summerlin might be the expert I needed for my front yard renovation. After I met him and heard his ideas I was excited to see what would happen, however, he exceeded my expectations!!! He transformed my muddy, barren, unloved front yard into a beautiful place. It will stay green and have color year round with minimal maintenance. Thank you Sean!! I highly recommend you call Sean Summerlin for any landscape design you need.

Sean responded quickly to an email inquiry and gave us an estimate to landscape our back yard that was considerably less than one we had received from another landscaping company. He and his crew arrived exactly when they said they would. Sean was also very helpful with plant selection/placement, in repositioning sprinkler heads as needed, and in creating a beautiful layout. We could not be happier with the outcome! Our yard has been completely transformed! We highly recommend Sean and his crew and are already planning our next outdoor project with him.

You will not be disappointed by using Sean to design and plant all your shrubs, trees, even landscape lighting. He finished my yard yesterday and I couldn't be more happy. Sean listened and took notes of how I wanted the yard to look; and he nailed it. He's very attentive and listens to every word. When you work with Sean, you'll get the yard you want. We would definitely use him again.

I have used Sean Summerlin since 2015 just after purchasing my home. The grounds were very lush to begin with having multiple palm trees, sago palms, oleanders, roses, bird of paradise, multiple shrubs, fruit trees, a vegetable garden and a water feature. Sean assisted me in creating a simplified vision for the yard. He removed some plants and incorporated others to bring harmony to the space and each year he has fresh ideas to continue to bring beauty to the yard. Sean is very knowledgeable about plants, trees and irrigation systems. I enjoy working with Sean and his team.

Sean did an excellant job redoing our flowerbeds, creating new ones and installing the landscape lighting. He fixed the drainage issue we had on the side of our house. He was prompt, courteous and very reasonably priced. The job was completed on time. The lighting he created really accents the yard. I would highly recommend Sean and will definitely use him in the future. Debbie K.

I had Sean install a drain, flowerbed, and re-sodded after the drought/freeze killed our yard. He was very accommodating and gave us a few different options. He and his crew were able to get everything finished up in one day! He was on time, did it right, and was very reasonably priced. Next landscaping project we have, I will be giving him a call!

My experience with this contractor was nothing short of terrible.

The contract was to install the landscape which include 5 flowerbeds, minor grading, bordering borders for the fences, and build a 12 x 15 deck with one custom angle and four 6 x 6 posts (upgraded from 4x4 in which Mr Summerlin said it would be ok at no extra cost) for the future installation of a pergola. However, Sean Summerlin did a horrible job for building the deck. They built my deck without proper measuring with string-line which caused the deck to have the back side against the house shorter than the opposing side. This is now no longer a rectangular deck. The four 6x6 posts were also put in without proper alignment with each other. The overall construction of the frame of the deck was not up to standard neither as he used no joint braces and proper supports. I again raised a concern with him and tell him that we need a serious discussion of the issue. Instead of offering an apology and telling me how he will fix it, he decided that he needed to leave and tell his crews to clean up and go. Later on today, he did offer me a new condition stating that either I downgrade to a 4x4 posts and he will fix the deck or he will charge me more if I tried to keep the 6x6 posts that he messed up. Without an apology and an offer to own up to his mistakes, he offer me a new contract in which if I keep the original posts, I would have to pay more. He did asked me how he could put his crews through the hassles of fixing the original posts. So this only meant that he chose to rather have his customer paid more for the project than telling his crews to fix his mistakes. I decided to move on with another contractor for professionalism, ethics, and better service.

Let the pictures speak for themselves! Check out our before and after backyard photos! Sean with Summerlin Landscaping did a fantastic job on our backyard. He talked us through every step of the way, made recommendations and put his own spin on every detail. He would also get our approval throughout the job before locking anything in which made us feel very comfortable. Also, he was sure to consider our ideas as well. We highly recommend Summerlin Landscaping for all your landscaping needs.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Mazzie and the crew at Custom Landscaping & Design did an excellent job expanding our patio and landscaping around it. We'll definitely be using them for future projects. Thanks!

I recommend Custom Landscape and Design. We worked with Mazzie, the owner. Prices are fair and my yard looks great! We had major drainage put it in throughout our backyard because of so much standing water after each hard rain. We added dirt and re-sod the entire yard. The guys working kept the area clean and did a fantastic job. We will definitely be using them again for future projects.

Mazzie and her crew did an amazing job and I would highly recommend them!! They did all the landscaping for my new house build. When they start it was just a muddy mess and they turn it into a beautiful yard!! Not only did they do the grass and flowerbeds but they also built a flagstone patio with steps and two retaining walls. Everything turned out great and we love it!!! We will definitely use them for any future landscaping needs!!

Mazzie and her crew are fantastic! My yard was a complete disaster and now its a peaceful oasis! They took out all of the flagstone pavers, artificial grass carpet, and large concrete pavers, created new walk ways, a cool deck, new paver patios, regraded the yard, created a beautiful bench around our oak tree, installed drainage and a sprinkler system. She had a vision and worked closely with us to ensure our satisfaction. Will definitely recommend this team and will work with them again.
