We have used Barney's Electric for the past 19 years! His service has always been excellent. Yesterday he came out to "fix" some outlets that weren't working. When he got here he and his assistant quickly determined it was a "reset button" issue. Although he could have (and should have) charged a trip charge to us, he didn't. Said "he couldn't charge us for that". We appreciate Barney's electrical knowledge, work ethic, his fun personality... and overall just being a great guy!!

I contacted Barney with very little notice to address some lighting issues at a family members home. Barney was extremely proactive and squeezed the service in on the same day.
I would highly recommend Barney to anyone that wants to get things done quickly, efficiently and reasonably priced.

Barney's service is outstanding. Always punctual and provides great communication. We have used his service in our personal home and for rental properties, and it is a great relief to me to have someone I trust to be able to reach out to when there is a problem. I have always been happy with the work performed, and its always at a fair price. If you have an electrical need, Barney should be your first call!

Barney's Electric is awesome...I would HIGHLY recommend using him for all your electrical needs/issues. I have used Barney's Electric 3 times in the past few weeks, the first 2 times was right before Christmas when I lost power in my island right after the last freeze. I was worried that being so close to Christmas I would not be able to find anybody willing to come out. Barney answered the phone immediately and was very willing to come help, he arrived at my house within an hour of me calling and was able to correctly fix my issue. I lost power again on Christmas eve and again Barney was willing to come out and help, again he arrived at my house within minutes of me calling and this was on Christmas eve...in my book this was unbelievable and the sign of a true professional. I used Barney for the 3rd time right after the first of the year to install new recessed lighting in my living area and again Barney (and Steve) were on time, professional and got the job done within a couple of hours. I can't be happier with Barney's Electric and would HIGHLY recommend him for any electrical work that needs to be done.

Barney (yes, the owner) and Ryan added a 20amp circuit and outlet for an appliance in my home. Another company quoted just over $1400. Barney quoted and charged $675. They showed up on a Saturday morning and were in and out in under an hour. When I would call Barney to figure out scheduling, he even answered the phone! And yes, *he answered the phone. Not staff. Not a call center. The actual guy doing the work answered the phone. I thought I must have tripped and fell through a time warp back 20 or 30 years when men who do work at reasonable prices communicated directly with customers. If you’re in the general Rockwall area, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t at least have him come bid the project. What’s going on in the trades today is that companies are being bought out with massive debt. The new guys come in and double the prices and layer on a bunch of special technology (the iPads!) and “complimentary” services like inspecting everything that moves and doesn’t move in your home. They’re well dressed and well spoken and they want to be paid for it, after all, this is America and someone’s got to pay for all that debt! You can get caught up in that if you want. Or, if you’re not against lower prices and efficient service, maybe consider Barney.

As a first time homeowner I had an issue w an outside outlet I didn't know how to fix. I called Barney to come out and take a look and instead he walked me through fixing it over the phone FOR FREE. He could have easily charged me but instead earned a customer for life as ill go to him for all needs moving forward. Highly recommend this honest small business

I've used Barney in the past and he was super nice, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. Called him about helping with a ceiling fan that I thought I improperly installed, and he walked me through all the steps over the phone very quickly to determine that I hadn't put batteries in the remote!!! Barney's Electric did an amazing job installing pendant light fixtures throughout my home. They are easy to work with and will give you a fair/honest price for the work needing to be preformed. I would highly recommend Barney's service. I definitely plan on using them again.

I had Barney come over when we first bought our house to fix our breaker box & he did such a great job. When we had issues with some of our outlets today (me, like an idiot, had my space heater connected to a power strip) turning off he came over & kindly asked me not to use my space heater anymore as it’s a fire hazard. He was so courteous & helpful. I will always use him for any electrical problems. I highly recommend his services.

We had an issue with several lights and plugs not working. Barney's Electric diagnosed and repaired the main issue and replaced a switch for a different issue, all in about an hour at a very reasonable rate. We booked online, electrician showed up exactly on time and we will certainly use them for all our electrical repairs.

Called Barney (yes, the owner answers the phone and still does the work) to fixed some non-compliant issues at the house (GFCI and open wire splices in the attic). He came and looked at the job to give me an accurate estimate and didn't charge for the trip.

Barney was easy to talk to and very communicative. He called when he said he would call. He showed up when he said he will show up. He finished the work and cleaned up - didn't leave a trace that he was there. He even fixed a GFIC plug that the inspector missed.

Highly recommend! Courteous, fast, efficient, quality work. Barney informs you of each step along the repair process, always with a focus on safety and also mindful of a customer's budget. Barney has completed several projects for us through the years, and his work has always stood the test of time.

Barney arrived to do some breaker work for us when our new HVAC was installed.
He is the electrician the HVAC company hired and he pointed out a few issues within the breaker box.
We are very pleased with his work, the information he provided & he is reasonably priced.

We had an issue with the outlets in our garage and Barney was able to make it out to our place within a couple hours of calling and quickly repair the issue. Barney and his team were friendly and professional and interacted well with my curious 4-year-old son. Would highly recommend Barney for any electrical needs.

I requested service from Barney's yesterday and got service today. Barney handles all service calls himself - prompt and fixed my electric outlet issues quickly. Also fair price. Plus he noticed that my 88 year old mother used a solace heater and advised to stop using that immediately. He may have saved us from a fire.

some electrical problems and was referred to Barney’s by my air conditioning company, and I am very happy they did.

I found him to be very responsive at a super fair price. I will definitely use him again.

Wanted to update this review as I used Barney again. He and his grandson Ryan did an excellent job installing more recessed lights and dimmers throughout my house. Could ask for a better job and price.

Will definitely use him and his team again. Make Barney your first and last call!
