Reviews of local pros in Sachse, Texas

Decathlon gave us the most positive home improvement / home repair experience we have ever had. Decathlon built us a beautiful patio structure with rough wood and concrete. They were very accommodating with some of our customization desires, including the need for a different kind of wood considering my wife's allergy. Their price was extremely fair, yet they delivered a level of quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that should have cost twice as much. The team was quick to respond, operated with swiftness and accuracy, and everyone was highly respectful of our home, including keeping the space clean and ensuring we were totally satisfied every step of the way. All my thanks and praise to Decathlon for giving us the outdoor space we have wanted for years.

Decathlon Construction is perhaps one of the best construction companies in the Country! They built a beautiful stand alone carport over our driveway. What stands out about Decathlon is the attention to detail. Their work crews are meticulous! I’ve never seen a work crew work so well together and take such pride in their work. From day one when they dug the four 3.5 foot deep holes for the cedar beams and set them in cement I knew this outfit was different. The only areas disturbed were the holes and everything around them was undisturbed and clean. After allowing the cement to cure, they returned and in a matter of days the structure was built. I was impressed with their efficiency, the attention to detail, and how at the end of each day the job site was clean!

Jerry & April, owners of Decathlon are so easy to work with - Jerry Is the one who initially meets with potential Clients sets up the job. From there a detailed contract Is agreed upon, and then April stays on top of everything (i.e. timing, arrival of crew, what to expect each day, etc.) and does a great job! Communication between April and myself was always timely and pleasant! I know with Google reviews you can only give up to five stars. I’m telling you this company is stellar and deserves a 5+ star!! Someday we will probably use them again to build a pergola. Not so much that we really need one, but because a pergola built by Decathalon will add greater appeal and value to our home! We heard about Decathalon from a couple of friends who hired them to build patio covers …they pretty much said the same thing I’ve said! Decathalon is the best!

One year later. Decathlon added a patio cover to my shop over a year ago. My wife and I had just completely redone our 1979 home and added a 2nd master bathroom on the master. The cover came last. Fortunately, it restored my faith in contractors. I had worked with several "contractors" over the preceding year and I was at my wits end.
Jerry and I had worked on my plans and thoughts for a couple of weeks and we had gotten it where we both understood the scope and work to be done. They showed up on time in vehicles that showed they were proud of their work and I told my wife we were going to enjoy working with professionals. There were at least two foreman quality workers at the job each day with at least two additional helpers which was perfect for the scope of the work. I could go on, but just wanted to give them a one-year later review. The finished product is still perfect. I can't thank them enough for keeping an old man from going insane. I worked in Real Estate for 40 years and I would recommend them to any of my clients. Thanks Jerry and April and the gang at Decathlon Construction!

I cannot say enough good things about Jerry and his team at Decathlon Construction. They installed a concrete patio and installed 3 new doors in my house, including a set of french doors where a wall used to be. Jerry helped me decide what to build that was within my budget and then his crew was absolutely amazing implementing it. They showed up when they said they would and got the work done quickly. And it's beautiful! I love, love, love my patio. After all the recent rains, the doors swelled a bit and they came the very next day after I called to fix it. Truly a wonderful experience!

We were referred by friends who had a great experience and they did not disappoint! We had a great experience as well. April and Jerry were very responsive and addressed any questions we had along the way. We had our back porch totally redone and it’s like a whole new living and dining space. We absolutely love it!!

Decathlon Construction built our patio cover. Terry and April were very professional and quick to respond to questions. I was impressed with all of their crews that worked on our project. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Decathlon Construction and their team did an awesome job with my patio project. Everyone was very professional and provided quality service. They answered all of my questions and kept me updated on everything. Very impressive. I highly recommend this company. I appreciate all of their work and effort.

Amazing work and quality. Great team at Decathlon, communication was great and vision of what is possible, gave us great ideas to make the best decisions. Super happy with them and especially our patio and outside kitchen. Now we have an extra room and can enjoy being outside in the Texas heat. Thanks Decathlon

We had a huge outdoor project that included demolishing our current patio including the concrete, pouring / stamping / staining the new patio, an outdoor kitchen, a fireplace that could be accessed from both sides and a pergola. We interviewed 3 different companies and asked them to provide a bid and discuss our vision. Jerry was the most knowledgeable and realistic about our expectations. I believe his price was very fair for the quality and craftsmanship put in to our project. We were very specific about the design and wanting it to match the house we purchased 15 years ago. As we designed and moved forward with specifics, Jerry and his crew provided us with their own ideas - many of which we integrated to get a perfect outdoor space. Some of my favorite pieces - such as the island that we can eat at were changes that we made from the original design - Jerry and his mason guys were involved in the size and placement of this piece and I am thrilled with it. The guys Jerry used were top-notch and they and Jerry helped us to understand why and how things needed to be a certain way while trying to achieve my style preferences. For example, I was not completely happy with how the first set of stairs looked. We restarted the stairs after Jerry, his concrete team, his mason team and we discussed what I wanted to see visually and the best way to make it happen. The stairs were redone and are a favorite piece of this project. I cannot say enough great things about Jerry and his team. As one might expect, there were unanticipated hiccups but these were all taken seriously, thoughtfully addressed and taken care of to more than our satisfaction. We use our outdoor space every day and have no regrets. I would not hesitate to use them again - in fact, if we ever move or build another home, I will definitely be calling them.

We selected Decathlon in a thorough bidding process. We liked the recommendations and they submitted a competitive bid for our pergola and patio extension projects. Their work exceeded our expectations. The project was on time and on budget, with consistent communication. The on-site crews were professional and cleaned up every day. Construction quality was high. We had some small issues with one subcontractor and Decathlon was on it immediately and everything was corrected and checked. The pergola is more substantial than I had expected and is absolutely beautiful.

After researching various construction companies, I chose Decathlon because they were upfront and honest with my requests. They didn’t promise what they knew they couldn’t deliver. For additional items and customizations they were very accommodating with design and cost estimates. Very responsive to my questions and quick to resolve any issues. We are very satisfied with the new living space. Highly recommend that you consider building with Decathlon.

Jerry and April were great. Jerry's crew exceeded my expectations every day they came to work. The attention to detail was really something. I now have a really nice space that looks great and makes me and my family happy. Thanks again to all the folks at Decathlon

DC as a Patio builder should be chosen for 3 reasons, quality of the end product, flexibility to listen to you and get closest to your requirements, and professional ownership of the job. DC has a task force that is passionate about what they do and that is why you don’t have to oversee them. Integrity is one of their prime values. You need to employ them to see their craftsmanship ( don’t judge by pictures). They will not push you to buy or pay….and most importantly, they are flexible for their partners to do additional work for you without them being in the middle. It was a very comfortable journey for our backyard living space building with them and we are spending a lot of time there…..go with them but be nice :)

We had gotten quotes from several companies for a patio cover and decathlon gave us the biggest bang for our buck.

They were easy to work with, communicated well, and the final project was great!

Definitely would recommend!

We did a lot of research before we had our patio completed and made the right choice choosing Decathlon. They were professional, efficient, and fairly priced.

They were in constant communication with us throughout the process and we are definitely happy with our new patio cover!

We had an incredible experience with Decathlon Construction. We had absolutely nothing in our backyard except a small concrete pad and no protection from the scorching Texas sun. Decathlon built us a backyard Oasis that we absolutely love. Each step of the process was laid out for us and the communication was constant and so appreciated. The stone mason would even text us when he went to lunch so we could let our dogs out for a bit. That kind of consideration is rare and just a part of what made the experience so easy and this company so delightful to work with. We have an HOA with rules that can be complicated to work with if you don't know what you're doing. But Decathlon handled it all for us and made it look easy! If I had questions, they answered quickly and I never had to worry about anything. I HIGHLY recommend them!

I have been enjoying my patio cover since September of 2022. Decathlon is a top notch contractor. Jerry the owner met with me and went over several options and gave me a detailed estimate including breakdown pricing on all the options. He was very professional and on time. I went back and forth with them trying to make up my mind on what I wanted and could afford. They were very responsive and helpful in suggesting the best bang for the buck upgrades. April kept me informed of the day, time and name of the crew Forman during every step of the construction. The crews showed up on time and worked diligently throughout the day. I have had issues with every contractor I have worked with in the past. It was quite refreshing to work with Decathlon. There high quality construction and completion on time ( except some minor delays do to weather ) has restored my faith that there are still honest contractors that deliver what they promised. I highly recommend Decathlon construction and would not hesitate to use them again.

Decathlon Construction recently completed the extension of our patio and we couldn’t be more happier! Jerry and April were very responsive and gave us some great ideas to get started. Their workmanship was incredible and of great quality and at a very reasonable price range. In addition, all city inspections were met and taken care of which was comforting to see. April was especially good at updating us every step along the way. Thank you to the most incredible team for your professionalism, perseverance and integrity. We will definitely use you again as well as recommend you to all our friends!

Decathlon added a porch/outdoor living space and did an amazing job. They sent weekly emails detailing work to be done that week. From their carpentry team, concrete, electrical, gutter subs; every aspect was top notch.

They did beautiful work and did not cut corners. The communication was excellent throughout the whole process.

I highly recommend Decathlon for a porch install. I couldn’t be more pleased.

We are so pleased with our experience with Decathlon Construction! Our completed patio has added so much to our home. We love entertaining family and friends outside. They are always complimenting our new patio and the excellent construction. Everyone we dealt with throughout the project was very skilled and helpful. Decathlon does a great job of communicating throughout and helping us get the most out of our budget. We highly recommend Decathlon Construction!

Decathlon is a family-owned and operated local business. They recently built a large, beautiful carport over our garage entrance that matches our existing property appointments. They are absolutely the best contractor we’ve ever worked with. They handled every detail, from drawing up a design concept with quote options, laying out the construction details, filing for permits, managing the time frame and subcontractors, all the way to the final inspection. It was a much better experience than we we’ve had in the past. They go above and beyond to make certain you get exactly what you want and follow it from start to finish. April keeps you apprised at the end of each week as to what to expect the following week. The workmanship and attention to detail is superb. They tied the roof line into the existing roof seamlessly. You can’t go wrong having Decathlon build your outdoor structure.
