Texas Engineered Solar completed the installation of my 9.2 kw solar photovoltaic system. Jeff Butler was professional throughout the entire process, which includes product review, proposals, selection, design, financing, installation, city inspection, monitoring, and closeout. Let me tell you, you want honesty, Jeff is the man you want. He came in, diagnosed the problem, chatted with the representative, got everything ordered to the house and installed all the parts in a week. He is a no fluff kind of guy. He is patient, answered all my questions and now is my solar system maintainer. I am at peace with him in charge.

We had to get a new roof, and along with that, the solar panels had to be taken down and put back up. Not only did they do that, but Jeff found 3 faulty panels and replaced them, and he replaced our 3G service that connected our panels to the app with wifi. A tree on our property was rubbing up against the solar panel, so not only did he do the things I just said, but he cut those branches off, too. He was informative in every step, too, and educated us on the mistakes the prior solar installer did and how he corrected them.

I want to thank Jeff and Monica for all of their help in getting my solar system operational. After the previous company I contracted with did a horrible job made many false promises and then went bankrupt, Monica and Jeff and Texas Engineered Solar stepped in and took over and completed the steps necessary to make my system operational. They analyzed what was needed, kept me informed as to what was needed and took the necessary steps to complete my system in a timely and efficient manner. I highly recommend Jeff Butler and Texas Engineered Solar. You have direct contact to Jeff, no middle man. He is very knowledgeable and explained all questions completely without hesitation. He even answered the phone to discuss our project while he was out of town! What a novel idea.

I had two solar system problems. First, production stopped on our PV system. I suspected our system inverter had failed. He worked with the manufacturer to test system and handled the warranty claim directly with them.

The second issue required the removal and replacement of our 24 solar panels from the roof so that we could install new fiberglass shingle due to hail damage. Jeff showed up promptly early in the morning as promised to remove the panels and rail system. He was finished by noon. He coordinated with me to determine when the roofing contractor would replace the shingle and re-installed the panels the day after the contractor completed the roof work.

Because of his preplanning with inverter manufacturer, our new inverter arrived one day later which he promptly installed and helped me sign on to the app so that we can monitor PV production.

Jeff performed a solar panel inspection and replaced our inverter for us after we purchased our new home and he did a great job! He showed up on time for each of our appointments, communicated very clearly, and explained how to set up monitoring through the app. He was also very honest and polite and didn’t try to sell us anything we didn’t need, which I especially appreciate. Absolutely the best experience. I am an electrical engineer myself and I sat thru several sales pitches from different solar companies. They all had the basic same pitch and I always felt they were repeating talking points they had learned in training but had no real mastery of solar. Just sales people trying to make a commission. That was until I met Jeff; he provided the facts, a fair price and did not try to upsell. He had obvious mastery of solar and actual installation experience, because he does most of the work himself.

Jeff kept me informed every step of the process, which was seamless. The finished product looked and performed as advertised. Jeff’s attention to detail was impressive, going as far as color matching the conduit to the roof, siding and trim. An unexpected treat was receiving a folder with photos of every phase of the installation from beginning to end including video taken from a drone, just awesome!

In addition to the solar system, Jeff installed a generator receptacle and replaced the main panel so that I could connect my generator to the house as backup power in the event of a power outage. He even measured the current consumption of my house including the 240V appliances (AC compressor and Dryer) to ensure the breaker he was installing for the generator was the correct size. Even after completion of the project, Jeff has been quick to respond to any questions I have asked. It has been about three months now and the system has performed flawlessly. I have and will continue to recommend Texas Engineered Solar to everyone interested in installing solar panels for their home.
