Adriana was so nice and helpful. My daughter had a very vague idea on what she wanted and Adriana went out of her way to help her find the perfect item!

We went here a few days ago and were intrigued by their 40% off sale and everything. We planned to go back over the weekend. We tried to go on Sept. 9th after the rain stopped. We knew they were open everyday until 6pm. We arrived right at 4 as we knew what we wanted to purchase. Unfortunately they were closed. So make sure to call to see if they are open if it is raining that morning. We ended up going down the street to Rainbow Gardens and bought everything we wanted. I know the weather can cause closures, but it was disappointing after driving nearly 45 min when we know they were open til 6pm.

    I can now say something that I had began to think might not be true of a major retail plant-seller in San Antonio in my lifetime;
THESE PEOPLE DO NOT SELL NANDINA DOMESTICA. THANK GOD THERE IS FINALLY ONE MAJOR STORE WHERE OWNERS VALUE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN MORE THAN A PITIFUL FEW DOLLARS!
    THANK YOU!
THANK YOU for stopping the cyanide poisoning of birds, dogs, cats, human children and even deer with Nandina domestica berries! You have shown how to be truly American and not killing each other with foreign poisons.
So why I is this not a 5-star retail center? There are so many contrasts, and indeed room for improvements.
They don't sell cyanide (Nandina domestica) but they have a few invasive plants, including one (I can hardly bear to typé this) variety of Ligustrum. The English ivy (in photo) is the worst-looking plant in the place, and so possibly it will work itself out of being selected and invading a home.
They also sell Asían jasmine. Yes, the State of Texas still has not listed Asían jasmine as "invasive" because it is not as bad in Dallas and the Legislature doesn't care whether San Antonio gets covered with weeds. But anyone who sell it KNOWS.

The investment the owners have made in their business is impressive. The grounds are thoughtfully planned and laid out. The displays are well-developed in regard to plant heights, visibility and room for customers. There are multiple paths to get through and between sections. There is sime sensibility to the layout, and there has been clear attention to prevent hazardous situations even with the obvious challenges of operating a business in a location divided by an ephemeral waterway.
It is refreshing to see retail garden center that invests in maintaining and upgrading its physical facilities, evidences professionalism in the way it facilitates the employees' work without creating hazards for customers.
This retail center is easily the most accessible for people with mobility limitations, various other physical disabilities and cognitive disabilities. Clearly understandable signage of designated spaces such as "cart corral" and "Plants sold" are best practices fot all garden center's to communicate expectations to customers.
Combining these characteristics with whimsy are faded signs indicating a speed limit of 5 mph for "Gardeners crossing" ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
And so there is no business less likely to not provide a protected space for drivers to offload their wheelchairs; yet this business does not have one.
By contrast, every other place that sells plants in the greater San Antonio area has designated parking spots for drivers with state-issued placards for mobility limitations. Yet there is not a one of them where a person using a wheelchair to have mobility, can travel from the vehicle or bus stop through the business either at all or without encountering many hazards.
This is indeed a study of psychological and practical contrasts.

Just as welcoming as the otherwise sensible and clear layout is one employee (orange hair, yellow cart in photo). Anything you need to ask, she will either know or locate the answer with extraordinary professional courtesy!

I came in looking to purchase a Tuscarora Crepe Myrtle, found one, and looked to pickup the tree the day of or the following day. Upon pickup, the tree was not properly placed by an associate into the vehicle, hence causing some of the branches to break. The folks at The Garden Center addressed my concern with this, and offered for me to select another tree at no additional cost. They helped me unload the old tree and ensured proper placement of the new one. I'm happy with the tree and appreciate the good customer service! I will be coming back sometime in the future, and would recommend to others.

I picked up a tropical plant from this garden center, and I’m honestly so impressed with the quality! The plant was healthy and clearly well cared for before I brought it home.

The staff helped me choose the right plant for my space and gave great tips on light and watering, which I really appreciated.

Just started my plant journey and a lot of people I know recommended the Garden Center. So I took the chance drove out and found some good prices and learned some good tips. Had my son with me and they offered him a popsicle so he was happy to be walking around enjoying himself while I got to shop. I found a great deal on the pride of Barbados. When I bought it they didn’t have flowers yet but about a week later they started sprouting flowers. They are so beautiful and so happy I got 4 of them so they can grow together. The garden center employees were very nice and provided me information on different areas to plant. They rang me up and even gave me a list of things to plant during certain seasons. I def. will be going back.

First of all we'd like to thank everyone at The Garden Center for helping us in our purchase of 5 beautiful trees.

We were shopping around and they had the best quality and sized trees in the San Antonio area, oh, and the prices are unbeatable.

They came out and planted our trees and gave us precise instructions on how to take care of them. Thank you for educating us on everything we need to do.
And for taking care of the beautiful cats!

They offer warranties on their trees up to one year, and they have lots of other neat things from wind chimes to fountains

I just started planting again and heard how great the customer service/selection is at the garden center. Not only did I find what I needed in a timely manner but the owner took personal satisfaction in making sure my experience was nothing short of amazing. It’s like an event going to the garden center. Get a nice coffee and walk through all of the areas. Pricing and customer service is unmatched! Seriously you’re missing out if you don’t shop here!

The staff helped me pick the best potting mix for my container vegetable garden and helped guide me through the process. The FoxFarm potting mix was way cheaper than other online stores!! They lifted all my purchases into my car for me. They said I could call and ask for any gardening help any time! They also have the cutest friendly cat!

Jason was super nice and knowledgable. I planned to have my entire backyard xeriscaped and Jason shared his ideas on thoughts on what would work along with discussing what I was looking for. Initially things went great, Jason was timely, responsive and in general just a pleasant guy. 4 months later the work is still not complete. I've been told several times he'd be out "later this week" to complete the work, later this week comes and goes with Jason not showing up and not communicating.

They did a great job on my front xeriscape area & my back. I had my bushes trimmed, mulch service, a few plants added, & weeds pulled & sprayed. They did exactly what I asked & were on time & friendly. I found nd them very affordable. Their communication was top tier. I’ll be using them again for sure.

Great service and communication! They came out and revamped our backyard. They recommended which grass to use for best results. They added a fire pit area and a flagstone walkway from the pool to the back deck. Our backyard is now a peaceful space we want to be in.
