Be aware of this company, they have another lawn company also called ‘San Antonio Landscaping Concepts’. They quoted me $50 to mow the lawn at the duplex I own and only did half of the backyard leaving the other half un-mowed. When I reached out asking why my tenant is saying their half of the yard wasn’t mowed, Lili was very unprofessional and rude, she said the I was being ‘abusive’ and demanded me to send the payment. Now I am left with half of the lawn unmowed and overgrown and need to pay for someone else to come out and mow.

Horrible service, unreliable, rude. The first two times they did not trim the bushes or do any edging. They schedule us for Saturdays, then when we call on Friday (after receiving a "confirmation" that day for the next day's service) to reschedule future appointments after that next day, they cancel us the next day and say they will be there on Monday. Thinking they clearly did not comprehend what was discussed we called back to confirm they would be there Saturday, as they had scheduled. We were then told they did not have anyone to do the lawn on Sat or Sunday and could not service us because they do not provide service those days...?
Complete flakes, they just do whatever they feel like and they do not do a decent job when they actually show or attempt to do anything.

Armando's team of 3 guys were able to add two zones of sprinklers to my existing system. This was a tricky job since the two zones were across a terrace that was 10 feet high and spread across my entire back yard. The guys were polite and hard working. Did it all in one day. They did exactly as Armando planned from the sprinkler head placement to adding a new master control to help with water pressure. They also moved about 150 sq ft of limestone rocks and boulders across the terrace- not an easy job and I'm glad to say I did not have to do it. In addition, Armando noticed a massive brush pile on the side yard and was able to clear that away for us for a nominal fee. Very satisfied and received a polite follow up call from Armando to check with our satisfaction. I feel sure that if we have any future issues he will be professional and responsive to our issues. Couldn't ask for more.

Sadly, I hadn't checked the Google ratings prior to calling...apparently, this company has a habit of no-calling-no-showing. As most of us are, I am very busy, and arranged my schedule based on the appointment that Armando -- the owner -- had set with me over a week ago.

I've called and left two messages, and still no call back. Any contractor, despite their level of education or marketing prowess, who doesn't respect others' time in the form of a simple phone call to indicate they need to reschedule is definitely not someone that I will ever work with.

If you are looking for someone to arrive and actually do work, look elsewhere...

UPDATE: Since writing this review, I have received a call from Armando, who proceeded to apologize and say, "Well, I left a 'note' in the office for someone to call you, because it was raining, but apparently, they didn't do that."

Some may interpret this as an apology, but my take is a justification and not taking responsibility as a business-owner/manager.

I have used A-Affordable Lawn & Tree Company for several years now on various jobs at our home. We live in an upscale neighborhood with several lawn services working it. I have bid out jobs on several occasions with various companies and A-Affordable is always priced on the lower end or the cheapest. And, they do a great job at the low price quoted! What I really like about them is that they won't tell you one price and then write another on the bill like most (I hate that). They communicate with me if they see something that needs attention that will cost more BEFORE doing the work and expecting to get paid. I really like their expertise on our tress and large bushes/red tips etc. They service my lawn but they have also fixed my sprinkler system and cleared some major brush in the rear of our home. I honestly doubt you can beat these guys when you have small to major landscaping projects. I've tried in the past. Now, I just call A-Affordable Lawn & Tree first and find their prices to be fair so I just go with what I know is going to be good service at a great price! I don't waste any more of my time getting bids, they hardly ever beat them and if so it's only a few bucks to work with people I'm not familiar with. To me it's worth having the same guys whenever possible because I trust the service and know that the owner will correct anything that isn't exactly to my liking. I'm picky! :-)

****WARNING****STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS****

The business owner, Armando, will overcharge and do a poor job. He promised a landscape design and didn't deliver. We asked him for the design plan and his excuse was that he had been busy taking care of some personal business. As a result, we were dissatisfied with the end result and product. This was our first experience hiring a landscape contractor and we missed all the red flags. We felt that since he was accredited by the Better Business Bureau, that he would provide a professional service. We were so wrong. It was a costly lesson.
He left us with a broken sprinkler system and a mess in our front yard. The two workers he sent to do the job were incompetent. They kept breaking our sprinklers and even cut an underground utility line. Armando was present during some of these incidents. It amazes me how he can hold any kind of license as a landscaper. He did not return for any repairs and never returned our phone calls.
There are other complaints for this business in the Better Business Bureau website.

DON'T TAKE A RISK WITH THIS BUSINESS!

I called this company after looking for a company to perform lawn maintenance but also transform and beautify my garden. I called other companies and everyone tried to overcharge me, or push products that I didn't need. I spoke with Armando and he came and personally inspected my yard and I explained to him what I had in mind, and he told me exactly what I needed, and how much, without any additional or hidden costs. He was punctual (arrived earlier than what we scheduled!) , polite and was very knowledgeable in everything I asked, he wound up saving me a lot of money and was very thorough on explaining the project. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone who is looking for a reliable and highly skilled landscaping professional !!!! I loved the price and customer service I received! The quality of the work they have done is amazing! We will be using them from now on!

BEWARE! I used this company to improve our curb appeal. He wanted half up front. Sent one worker to do the job, which was an elderly gentleman that I felt so bad for, and Armando only came to collect the check to start the job and drop off materials. When the job was almost complete, Armando started calling for the remainder of the money. I let him know there were things in the front yard that needed to still be complete, but he assured me they wouldn't be done until I was satisfied with the job. 2 days later Armando called to collect, and expected me to give it to his worker at the end of the day. I let him know plants still needed to be planted but he said he would need time to go get them from God knows where. That was the last day I saw them. I called several times but he never returned my call. I left a few messages, but finally stopped. They did most of the job, and it looked okay, but those touches that were important to me were never taken care of. If you use this company, BEWARE, don't pay until he's completely finished!!!

We recently moved into the area and were delighted when we discovered A-Affordable Lawn and Tree Co. Armando was very prompt in responding to our request for an appointment. He carefully listened to our desires and concerns, and prepared a plan during the first meeting that fully captured our vision and met our expectations. His crew was professional and completed the work very quickly and without problems. We truly appreciated Armando's knowledge of species best suited for the area and his sensitivity to our specific desire for an easy maintenance yard that is still eye catching and colorful. He and his crew achieved all this while delivering a great value for our investment.

After a bad rain storm that caused water damage inside the home, I got estimates from several companies on how to steer the water away from the house. Armando from A Affordable offered the best service at the right price, and he guaranteed his work for life. I checked with several references and they all had good things to say. His crew worked all day and installed a French drain which looked nice and kept the rain from my home. He personally came out to inspect the work and he even offered extra work at no charge in my yard. After several bad rain storms, no water came into the house. Armando personally called me to check on whether the French drain worked after these storms. Great job, great service. I plan to use him again.

Armando's guys were incredibly professional, effective, and quick. We were quoted same-day & on-site, and the crew was on our property at 9am sharp the next day. They fully removed 9 three-story tall Douglas Firs from a very narrow space between our house and hour neighbor's house. They got it done in an even 5 hours, including a thorough sweeping of our roof and leaf-blowing of our yard. I'll definitely be hiring them for all future tree trimming & removal!

Never received a quote after initial visit.

Great company to work with. Very professional, and the design turned my drab yard into a more drought tolerant, good looking, and enjoyable yard. I'm really proud of it. If you are in SA and are looking for a company to design and implement something cool for your landscape definitely give them a call. Added bonus is the pricing is very reasonable, communication was perfect, and from design to finished implementation was, in my opinion, very fast.

Chuck recently completed a full landscaping project both in the front of my house and the rear around my pool. He is knowledgeable, punctual, comes up with pleasing to the eye and sophisticated designs. He is a pleasure to work with.
His pricing is fair and his workers are organized and very hard working.

Chuck was was a pleasure to work with. Showed up when he said he would, done on time and for the quoted price. The landscaping completely changed the front of the house. Loved working with Chuck!! My husband and I happened to find him through a Google search and we are so glad we did. We had a new house that needed a completely new front and back yard. Chuck really understood what we were going for (natural look with things that are native to the area and climate) and created two very cool and different spaces in each. He has an amazing knowledge of plants and was also able to source some things we weren't sure we would be able to get. I would highly recommend working with him and we plan on calling him again for our "phase 2" of lighting and paver/patio design!

We are nearing completion on the renovation of our new home. Landscaping was a Big Messy Challenge! I researched around and narrowed it down to 3 companies for bids. Luckily I hired Leifeste Landscaping. Like myself Chuck had a 40 year career in Marketing/Media and PR but I had never worked with him. I knew he had a good reputation in marketing. No idea about how his landscaping company would perform. I’m giving him a big shout out for the beautiful, professional and creative yard/patios he left us with. Great creative concept, professional crews and on the mark budget completion. Plus he was friendly, informative and extremely knowledgeable about South Texas landscaping issues and maintenance. What a delight it is to work with pros that under promise and over deliver. I would absolutely recommend him. Thank you Chuck!!!

Chuck has an eye for the future of plants and spaces, and brings his clients along to share the vision. My guests always commented on the pool landscaping, and several worked with Chuck after seeing my lush and colorful improvements. One of the things I miss most about my former home is the spectacular plantscape Chuck created. So I’m asking him to remake my new urban yard (sans pool) into a similar oasis. He is knowledgeable about native plants and maintains your budget in mind. Outstanding experience.

We loved working with Chuck and his crew. We weren’t exactly sure what we wanted, but Chuck listened to our needs/wants and then used his expertise to create a plan that suited us wonderfully. I was impressed that he provided an itemized proposal complete with pictures of the plants he recommended.
