I reached out to CK Pool when my pool circulation stopped. The first thing the manager asked for was information about the pool filter - how old it was and when the sand was last replaced - which I didn’t know. During our conversation I told him that I only wanted the circulation fixed, not preventative maintenance or equipment replacement. He assured me he would send his best technician.

At the time, I had already noticed my pool pump was making a strange noise, and I expected they would identify the cause. Instead, they concluded that the filter was the problem, replaced it, and charged me over $2,000.

We had postponed our regular pool service due to the lack of circulation. When the pool service technician came after CK Pool’s visit, he reported that there was still no circulation. My office is next door to CK's, so I went next door to their office office to inform the manager that the issue had not been resolved. He immediately said he knew what the problem was, showed me a small rubber part, and told me he would have it replaced.

The next day, a technician came out, spent about 15 minutes replacing that rubber piece, and everything worked perfectly.

So essentially, the filter replacement was unnecessary - and conveniently for them is one of the most costly items to repair. The technician who replaced it failed to check that circulation was restored afterward and ignored the very obvious pump noise that indicated the real issue.

It's very clear that their intention was not to fix the pool but to squeeze money from me.

Conclusion: If you deal with CK Pool, be cautious of scammers.

Horrible experience, horrible customer service. We started using CK Pools when our pool service company was acquired by them a couple years ago. Since then, we've had nothing but trouble. Maintenance techs coming out for less than 10 minutes on multiple occasions and not cleaning the pool, little to no communication regarding equipment issues, and exorbitant invoices for small fixes. The final nail in the coffin was this past month. We paid $150 to get our system winterized prior to the deep freeze and when they came back to put the system back online after the freeze, they told me that a pipe had burst because water had still been in it (and after voicing my frustration was told that they can't guarantee removing all water from the system during winterization - would've been nice to know before spending the $150). I was then told it would be a $60 fix but received an invoice for $230. Considering I had already paid the $150 for the winterizing, I declined the invoice with comments to discuss with the team but never received a call. They came out to fix the busted pipe anyway (and left all the large pieces of busted PVC next to the system - didn't bother to throw it away) and decided to send me an invoice for another $40 for a new skimmer basket. After a couple days I realized there was no water in my hot tub. After reaching out to them (since nobody had bothered to tell me my system had been turned off and that they're was yet another issue), they told me the system was off because there was a broken spider gauge. I then spoke to someone about a fix and he told me it would be around $550 to fix it. Considering I needed my system back online, I obliged and they came out to fix it. 4 days later we had one of the pipes they had recently re-plumbed burst and cause a massive leak. I called immediately and was connected to one of the owners, Rocky, who assured me they would send someone out the next day and that he would call me to get everything squared away. Nobody came the next day and I reached out asking when I could expect someone and they said someone would be out the following day. I never received any communication that someone as coming/had fixed the problem, but I checked once I returned from work and they had fixed the issue. No text, no phone call, nothing except.... a new invoice for $130. All CK Pools cares about is growing faster than they can handle and charging you for every penny, even when the issues they're fixing were related to their own shotty work. I understand things cost money to fix and they're running a business, but the lack of communication is unacceptable. Contrary to what CK responds to some reviews here, they most definitely DO NOT operate in good faith. They want to charge you for every little thing they can. Pictures below include the lack of cleaning (which happened multiple times), broken PVC pipe that was re-plumbed left next to my system, and the leak that occurred after their re-plumbing of the system.

Juan does a great job! We use this pool service weekly, and the service is always exceptional. The pool is consistently clean, well-maintained, and ready to enjoy. We’ve never had any issues and truly appreciate the reliability and attention to detail. Highly recommend!

Tony always does a fabulous job on my pool. He consistently runs on time, never skips a day and extremely reliable. He is very knowledgeable about pool chemicals, it never gets cloudy or filled with algae. Very satisfied with the company, their reliability, great communication skills and I never have problems with their billing department. Would highly recommend!

The pool water pump must have bursted since he flew by me off Thousand Oaks and Wetmore. First he tried to go Dukes of Hazzard off the train tracks and then did a nascar pass! Hope he took his time to fix the job! Was able to catch him on the Perrin Peitel light.

Pool water has been maintained very clear. Any debris present is removed effectively. The technician, Ram, is very courteous, professional and friendly. Sunray service has always been a superior pool service!

Several years ago, I hired Sunray to replaster my pool and was very happy with the job they did. Now many years later it was time to have it replastered again and I sought quotes from several local contractors. Again, I was most pleased with Sunray. Justin promptly came by to see my pool and explained every detail. He was very pleasant to talk to which I very much appreciated. Very soon after, he emailed me the complete options and prices. He also loaned me a set of sample quartz tiles that I could take my time with to choose my desired color. He even sent me a video of a pool Sun Ray recently did with the color I chose, to give me a clearer idea of what it would look like. I was very happy that they were able to start within two weeks. The job was completed in about a week, faster than I anticipated, and it looks great. Afterwards they chlorinated the pool and came back several times to brush it.

I would highly recommend Sunray for pool replastering!

Last year I was looking for a new team of pool techs because I thought I had too many equipment repairs from the group I was using. I came onto a discussion about reliable pool techs on Next Door. I sort of picked SunRay out of the hat and texted. I hired them that day and have not looked back. Each tech has been reliable, courteous, and professional. They show up on Fridays and send me an email message at the end to let me know the work that had been done; if the water is low the tech will alert me. My pool equipment has had hardly a single problem this past year. I recommend the team at SunRay as strongly as possible!
