HVAC reviews in Spring, Texas

The mechanic, Briar, was incredibly professional and helpful. Another company recommended an expensive repair but he correctly diagnosed the problem and saved me a lot of money. I highly recommend!
-
Absolutely one of the most unprofessional, and dangerous, service companies I have ever dealt with. Not only did their tech leave a gas leak open, but the office staff was extremely unprofessional. If this company is assigned by your warranty company, request a different vendor.

Dennis was AMAZING!!!! He was very thorough and communicated clearly as to what the situation was with our unit and what it would entail to repair. Thank you for being so helpful. Highly Recommend!!!

All is well. Christian was very professional. On time with the scheduled appointment. Very clear with answering my questions. Did a punch out (explained) everything he did on his way out
-
Have A maintenance contract. They serviced me throughout the year and always done an excellent job. Whenever I’ve had to have something replaced or installed and give me a very good price.
-
Great customer service! Denis was very helpful in talking me through the possible sources of a difficult to identify leak into the ceiling. I've had them out out for jobs a couple of times and they've been great.

I recently received my new A.C unit from
Douglas Mechanical and the customer service and installation was topnotch. I really appreciate Gloria for helping me through out the process, she was more like a friend to me, and
she also kept me informed and followed up to make sure everything was okay.
Thank you so much. -
Update 7.15.2025 back to 1 star.
Flex ductwork was not sealed from their original installation over 2 years ago. This caused condensation to build up inside the duct's insulation, causing it to sag, produce mold, and gallons of water pouring out of the flex ducts. Their tech saw, and confimed the ducts were not sealed.
They did not offer a full replacement of the duct work at their sole expence for their lack of proper installation. They gave a quote to me to pay for THEIR mistake!!!!
After the quote was sent over, they never called to check back to see what direction we wanted to go or help solve the issue.
It's been 2 months without them reaching out. I have since gone with another company.
Please, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
Update 6.8.2023
After talking with the owner, and a few months have past; I'm increasing this rating from 1 star to 3 stars. Some days are challenging running a business while other days can be an easy cool breeze. The company did fix all the issues in the end. The experience I had was a unique situation, and we all have to show some grace to others as no one is perfect. This veriable speed Unit has been working great! I love how it can keep a constant temperature throughout our home, and proactively reduce the humidity by slowing down the unit(decreasing capacity).

New XV18 Installed.
Salesman- Very Knowledgeable.
Installation Crew - Horrible and sub contracted.
First Checkup - Did not catch anything.
Second Checkup - Caught everything I told them about, plus more.
First repairs of brand new system - Great Tech.
Second repairs of brand new system - not everything caught and wasting more of my time.
For a top of the line Trane XV18 system, and the $24,000++ price tag, I would have thought this would have been a stress free installation with the best crew being sent out. Welp, that did not happen...
The sales rep was very knowledgeable and explained everything. I let others talk to prove to me they know what they are talking about as I'm an engineer and enjoy knowing how everything works.
The Sub Contractor crew that was sent out was horrible. I was having to be the on site manager and catching all their blatant mistakes. I feel concerned about other customers that should not have to know how something works, and are being taken advantage of.
List of items:
1. Standing on Compressor Unit.
2. Dirty gauge connections being screwed on to a brand new machine.
3. Return Duct work not sealed at all and sucking attic air.
4. Horrible copper braising.
5. Condensate drain and overflow sensors installed incorrectly.
6. No electrical bushing on air handler.
7. Outside copper line cover not installed properly.
8. Brand new coper line set damaged.
9. Knocked family picture off the wall.
10. Continuing to remind the company about a vent still needed.
11. Did not place the system in charge mode. This Veriable speed system is not like the old fashioned type, you have to follow the procedures for setting this machine up.
12. Management never reached out to me after letting the sales rep know of all these issues.
In the end, all was taken care of with a total of 6 visits from start to finish. Would not recommend if you live outside the city as I do, because they sent out a horrible sub contracted installation crew. -
They came into our home 3 times and 3 times they left us without AC, Including after installing a Trane. They cost us 12k by telling us the house we were buying, AC was "good to go". So we didn't negotiate that. Jared the "operating partner" takes ZERO responsibility for his crew and made it very clear he was not going out of his way to help. If you want to be stuck without AC even after spending 12k on a system, these are your guys. And apparently if you leave a bad review Jared will harass you. He initiated a text thread harassing me about my review in which he still didn't apologize. He also hides behind the values of his religion instead of taking responsibility for his behavior.

Dennis came out and saved the day! I’ve basically had zero ac since Sunday morning - and tonight Thursday - I’ve got ac. He was so very kind. Explained everything to me and I really feel he went WAAAAYYYYYY above and beyond. Douglas Mechanical is so lucky to have someone like Dennis representing the company to their customers. He was fabulous! And because of him, I think Douglas Mechanic is fabulous as well! Thank you Dennis!! So very much appreciated!

Had the best experience with Dennis. He showed promptly on time explained the issues and forced them with no issues. He even kindly walked us through the membership options and clearly explained the benefits. Would definitely work with this company again.

Made an appointment online, and had someone out checking my AC a day later. The technician came on time, they communicated with me along the way. He was in and out, and fixed my problem quick. He was very helpful, and made his recommendations. I would definitely be using thyme again if another problem comes up.

Amanda is amazing in communicating with me with such grace and kindness from her office. She dispatched Eric to come out to give me a second opinion on an estimate I received from another company the day before. That company was scamming me and Eric checked what that company said was wrong. Nothing about what they said was true. Eric saved me over $1,530. He is my hero. I will only use this company from now on. They're honest and not just out for the money. I trust them and thank Eric for saving me so much money with his knowledge and honesty, and kindness.

Originally used them as part of our Home Warranty but we also decided to buy their maintenance package on their recommendation. Eric Harper came out for A/C Maintenance a few months ago and originally stated everything was fine despite me stating it was not cooling properly in different rooms. He explained that's how the air ducts were built. Obviously felt like a curious explanation since I didn't have cooling issues prior. He took a second look and stated 1 air damper motor was not working properly and recommended it'd be replaced for ~$600. Air Damper motors cost nowhere this much, and I get labor costs, that's fine we went w/ them to get it replaced. Eric came back , replaced it in ~10 minutes, didn't say much of anything and left. No big deal, things appear to be working again. Two months later our AC is not heating and cooling properly again.
Decided to go w/ our original builder's AC Company since our warranty and maintenance package w/ Douglas had expired. Original builder told me the motor's wiring was not done properly, and it appears 2 other damper motors are not working. I doubt the other 2 coincidentally stopped working as soon as Douglas left. Douglas had also replaced our coils a few years back and was working fine, but the original builder told me they just left open pipes lying in our attic. He said he gets why they did it to replace the coils, but they should still replace it back. Appears like shoddy, lazy work all around, would definitely not go back to them for AC repairs. -
Our HVAC system went completely out and was causing us an electric bill of $1,000. I called Douglas Mechanical and explained what was going on and they came out and gave us a quote quickly. They sent us several different options to pick from. When we picked one out they walked us through the installation process, came out and check to make sure it was working correctly and when they forgot the power surge they quickly came out and installed them. The staff in the office that answers the phone are very polite and knowledgeable. I would recommend them over and over hands down.

MJS was assigned to us through American Home Shield and what a great experience MJS was (not so much with AHS).
Our AC went out on a Monday evening. MJS was scheduled for a time window on Tuesday, in which they kept their word.
Wade walked me through the process to f what was wrong and what could be done. One thing led to another and I had a new unit installed by Tuesday evening.
Wade and his team were a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend. They are good people. -
My A/C went out on the hottest day of the year, go figure! I was referred to MJS by a relative and called them that night and left a VM. To my surprise, the next day early morning I got a call back from Wayne! He told me he would be out to inspect my AC that morning and he did not disappoint. After inspecting my unit he got his crew out that day to make the repairs to get my system up and running! MJS even went as far as to help my family out with some HVAC issues we were having! Now my Unit is working and my AC is blowing cold! My house is freezing and I couldn't be happier.

AHS assigned this company to me. They were prompt regarding their arrival. Once Jason arrived he did not have a MASK on as he walked into my home,, i guess the company doesn't have a COVID-19 policy.. He act as if he did want to service me. He came in asking me what was wrong.
Telling me what the warranty company does not cover.
He replaced my thermostat in which he said was junk(Nest Thermostat E) with some Honeywell T-4, but he was taking my junk thermostat with him. Maybe I wasn't the customer he wanted to service. AHS has called MJS several times but no return call. He even put the incorrect dated on the service receipt 09/30/2020 -
MJS saved us again! On Tuesday afternoon our AC started shorting after a power surge, I called the company I had used for years, MJS, Talked to Wade Anderson about our problem he said can be there in about 30 minutes. He arrived started to check our system found out we burned out a capacitor he replaced it and we were cooled again I am so relieved & grateful to have a company i can depend on. Everybody at MJS has always been professional and dedicated to solve our a/c problems over the years. I highly recommend MJS to anyone that needs a/c services
Grateful customer randy hall -
MJ's was called out through my home warranty company. I wasn't really expecting anything to be covered through the warranty as is usually the case but experience with the tech was terrible and he was wrong/lazy. Mechanic jumped immediately to a bad king valve after about 3 minutes of looking at where a leak was. He quoted 1-2 weeks to get the part and +/ $1,500 to repair; also tried to push a new condenser all together for $5,000. When diagnosing, I was with him the entire time and asked how he knew the leak was at the valve and the valve was actually bad without verifying through a simple leak detection (his reply was "I call it as I see it") and he raised his voice and refused to go through further diagnostics and told me I could call someone else if I wanted to go through that. He left and I gladly called out Spring Branch A/C who was great to work with. They actually put a test on the condenser line (imagine that..., to identify the location of the leak) and found the valve had no issues and it was just a small leak on the weld. A small sawdering job and 30 minutes later I had a good test on the line and was filled back up w/ refrigerant for $700. I am glad I questioned the MJ tech and did not let him bully him into a more expensive repair. Will not be recommending MJ's Mechanical Services to anyone as the tech was lazy and did not want to do the proper diagnostics and yelled at me when asking technical questions to insure I was going to get a proper repair. If you have them through American Home Shield and they are the callout- do yourself a favor and request someone else

I can't honestly say enough good things about MJS Mechanical services and particularly the technician JB. They were tasked with a job of providing a second opinion on a problem with my air conditioning after having Air Dystany come out first. Without going into great detail, I was advised by Air Dynasty that I would need a new condensor on a five year old Trane unit, saying it was broke and unrepairable and parts unavailable.. Seemed incorrect since my unit is only 5 years old and was cooling fine and working, it just wouldn't turn off. I checked by calling Trane and found they still sell my unit and parts. Thus second opinion. MJS and BJ to the rescue. BJ had me walk the whole system off with him and explained in detail what he was checking, what one would expect each component to do and found no problem with any part of my system. He explained there is a cut off switch that can get stuck but it was working as it should currently. I asked if I should just go ahead and replace it and he said honestly he saw no current need. But if the issue reoccurred to call them directly within 30 days and he could recheck and replace if needed. He walked me throigh the thermostat programming and explained if someone turned the temp down really low and pressed hold it could stay on constantly. ( if it's that, I need to talk to my kids)
BJ And MJS Mechanical saved me alot of money on something we never should have been recommended to be replace by another company.
Again, highly recommend the use of MJS Mechanical.
