Constraction reviews in Wylie, Texas

We contracted with Alex and his team to do two patio covers on our home. I work for the 4th largest school district in the DFW area. Part of my job is construction inspection and acceptance. I hold a state construction inspectors license in good standing. Alex was the 4th contractor we negotiated with and we awarded him the contract. Best decision we’ve made since we bought this house! They hit their projected start date, delivered materials as promised, started the day they said they would and exceeded our expectations.
Instead of waxing poetic about how friendly the crew was, that the owners son was on site daily, how clean they left our place daily and how promptly they responded to all our communication (which is all true), I’m gonna post about the hiccups with our build.
1st of all anyone who’s been in construction or contracted for substantial construction work know every job has issues. We had two minor issues. The day they started several holes were cut into our roof so the covers could be tied to structure. No big deal, this was expected. Oh wait, North Texas weather. 4:30 PM and a line of storms pops up. I ask the guys about this as my roof has 10 holes cut in it. No problem they say, roofer is on the way. Poor guy showed up at 5:30 and was on my roof till after dark. Not a single drop of water got into our home and there’s no way that was scheduled. That’s the result of contracting with someone who cares.
Issue 2. In order to do the electrical the way I wanted it done they needed to remove some face brick. No big deal, every recently built home has extra brick in the garage right? Wrong! Our brick guys measured 3 times and cut once, there isn’t a brick 1 left here. So Friday comes and Alex wants this job done. The guys stay here till 8:30, scrounge up brick my wife will accept and do everything they can to get it right. Swing and a miss! Problem is we have signed off and given them the check. Wait, no problem, next Friday a mason comes out, corrects the issue and you can’t tell which bricks were removed.
Short story long, price was right, service was right, communication was right, this family cares about their name and reputation and will do what it takes to protect all. That’s integrity!
Give them you’re business, give them your trust, don’t worry about giving them your money!

They are very professional and always on time very friendly as well . my next project will be outside kitchen will give them the project

We had very high expectations about how our dream deck would turn out when we decided to have it built. Somehow Darquea managed to surpass those expectations. They were extremely professional and friendly to work with. You can tell they get a lot of business, however, at no point did I ever feel they were rushing through the project or felt like ours was less important than other, undoubtedly, bigger projects they have.

I delt most directly with Ric and I was constantly asking questions. He always responded quickly and never seemed bothered by my questions, even when I asked during non business hours.

We originally contacted Darquea because a friend recommend them. My only regret was waisting time getting other quotes. If you're looking for an honest company that will be competitively priced and obsessed with detail, don't look any further. This is the company for you. They went above and beyond for us. We had to be a small project, relatively speaking. If they'll work that hard for us, you know they will do it for all their customers.

Darquea just built us an awesome patio cover! Alex did a great job making it match the house, the price was reasonable, and they kept us updated from beginning to end. I would definitely hire them again!

Alex and his team were absolutely awesome. Communication was great and the build was fast and well done. Our family is extremely grateful to have such a great experience and have a stunning patio now to enjoy. Highly recommend!

Alex and his crew gave us an amazing patio! He was very responsive to what we wanted. The quality of the work was everything we expected. What Darquea home improvements did that far exceeded our expectations was keeping to the estimate and that they didn’t stop until everything was to my expections.

They provided us a beautiful place to escape to. Quality of the build is great and the whole process was quick and easy.

Another excellent experience using Darquea Home Improvements. They communicate well and do excellent and quality work at a good value. This is our second time to use them for a patio cover and we were very pleased again! Also, they went out of their way to help our family by cleaning up our patio/yard and all of their supplies for a family celebration that was happening at our home during the middle of our project -- even though it wasn't convenient based on where they were in the project at the time. Will definitely use them again if we ever have other similar projects.

Alex and his AD Custom Backyards crew are the best. Alex is very responsive, knowledgeable, experienced, hands on owner committed to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Work was done on time, and exceeded expectations.

Had a Pergola over back patio and a new patio area poured. He and his crew handle everything: Pergola, carpentry, masonry, cement, electrical, irrigation. Great quality and great value.
Highest recommendation and will use them again.

Alex and his team did an outstanding job on our covered patio. Excellent workmanship and very professional all the way around. I would definitely recommend Darquea! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Alex and his crew has done an amazing job transforming my outdoor patio. Very professional and easy to work with! I have always been worried about contractors scamming me, but Alex is very trustworthy and was always there to communicate when needed. Don’t look elsewhere, just contact Alex Darquea, he’ll take care of your needs.

Alex and team were an absolute pleasure to deal with! They did an amazing job on our patio addition and outdoor kitchen. Quality work, reasonably priced, and very responsive. We were so impressed with the attention to detail and the team constantly cleaning as they worked. Alex - you've restored our faith in customer service. Would highly recommend Darquea Home Improvements for all your needs!

They built us a huge patio, fireplace and outdoor kitchen. It is amazing. I highly recommend them!

Darquea did an absolutely amazing job on our back patio and bar! They far exceeded our expectations. Their attention to detail and finishing touches really set them apart. The stonework on our bar looks awesome. Would 100% recommend them to anybody looking to add a patio extension/cover and/or bar.

Our family couldn’t be more happy with the results delivered by Alex and his crew. They built our dream patio cover by incorporating our existing patio and fireplace. It’s beautiful! They are professional and easy to work with.

This is the second time we have used AD Custom Backyards for our home improvements. Both times, the crew was professional and friendly. AD Custom Backyards did a fantastic job on our back patio cover and our custom carport.

My patio look absolutely amazing! I have had so many compliments on their workmanship. I have already recommended several of my family members to them. Thank you Alex for the awesome job you and your crew did.

Just got my 10x10 patio extended and covered. Now I have a beautiful 10x22 with nice roof, looking like my house was born with that patio. Stamped concrete looks great. Alex, the business owner is the nicest guy in the world! You can see on photos how it looks now and what it was before.

I hired Alex to build me a privacy fence. Even though my home is secluded and not too many see it from the road there's never a time that everyone who visits including delivery drivers compliment me on the fence. Most have the same comment " I've never seen a fence with that much wood work and detail. Alex and his crew did a fantastic job. The attention to detail the craftsmanship is second to none and is recognized. If you want to stand out from the rest of your neighbors I recommend giving DHI a call you wont be disappointed!

We are so very pleased with our new covered patio. It is beyond beautiful. I was home during the entire time they were here. They are wonderful, gifted, and excellent craftsmen. If you are in the market to ad value to your home, Darquea Home Improvements is who you should call.
