Amazing Company, they are one of Frontline Concrete’s favorite General Contractors to work for. We have had great success thanks to them.

I have done contracting work for stout and they owe a balance after 6 months after the jobs been completed. They aren't being receptive to messages left and blame they haven't been paid. But I didnt sign up for payment 6 plus months after the jobs been completed. The processes there definitely need to be improved. I will next go to the BBB. If you are an contractor put in your contract a late expense.

Stout Building Contractors is a company full of professionals that care about their employees, developers they work with, along with subcontractors. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, and saw that the leadership at Stout is exceptional. I have nothing bad to say about this company nor their work ethic!

Our experience working with Stout Builders has been great, we are working on several projects currently and have completed many others, all with no issues. We are in construction and nothing is perfect but Stout has good, honest, hard working staff and owners that have been excellent to work with. I would recommend Stout Builders for your building needs.

We have worked with Stout Building Contractors on many projects over the years. It has been a pleasure to work with such a great and professional company. Every interaction with them has been positive. They have the capability to do very large and sophisticated projects. I have personally worked with the CEO and President of Stout Building Contractors and can't say enough about their integrity and team attitude. Had them remove 14 feet of my load bearing wall in the basement. They did a great job. Would recommend their work.

After an initial frustrating experience with scheduling an apt, Greg personally reached out to me to apologize and was eagerly sincere to show me that Crimson Rock Construction is indeed a business worth trying. Greg is professional and responsive.

Great builder, great communicator, very knowledgeable and willing to take the extra time to help with all facets of the building process, including working with local government officials to navigate the sometimes complicated approval process. Working on an extensive renovation project for us and couldn't be more pleased with the experience. Highly recommend.

I needed a mother in law apartment built.

    Adaptability 4/5 🏕️ 🏕️ 🏕️ 🏕️
My objective for the mother in law was to have noise control built throughout. Quality counter top kitchen. Large bedrooms with large closets. Maximize home value. As things went on, I did make unique specification where plans had to be changed. I was made aware of how everything would change from my plans including price. I wasn’t blindsided by anything.

    Sensibility 5/5 🧠 🧠 🧠 🧠 🧠
I didn’t have a design plans for the project, I only had objectives. Everything I wanted was achieved though it required some creativity.

    Cost 3/5 💵 💵 💵
Wasn’t the cheapest bid I received for the project but my objective wasn’t to save money it was to increase resale value and have a quality basement

    Technical Experience 5/5 🔧 🔧 🔧 🔧 🔧
Had all skills to build a mother in law apartment

    Cleanliness 🧹 🧹 🧹 🧹 4/5
I didn’t have to do any clean up

Greg removed a load bearing wall in a home I purchased. He and his team were great to work with. If I need to remove another load bearing wall in the future, I'll call Crimson Rock again.

These guys are real pros. Our experience was top notch. Greg said he and his crew would be at our home at 9am to get started on our project. At 8:55 the entire team showed up and got to work like a well oiled machine. They protected our floors and everything in the house with plastic and went to work. At about 4:30 they had everything cleaned up and even mopped our wood floors. Everything turned out beautifully and perfect. They took out a couple large support columns in our kitchen to open up the space and installed a new support beam. They made a tough job look like easy. Greg simply said “it’s what we do”. Thanks Greg and team for an amazing job.

I looked for a contractor to remove a load bearing wall through Google. I was not able to find any who were willing or able to do the project within my price range until I googled "Load Bearing Wall Removal", and found Crimson Rock Construction.. I contacted Greg at Crimson Rock. He responded quickly and came over to inspect and provide a cost estimate. The cost estimate was very reasonable. It included other associated work that I wanted him to do. He came on the day agreed and started the project and completed it within the expected time. The work looks very good. We are very pleased with the finished product. Greg has also agreed to provided an engineer stamped plan for my records. I would highly recommend Crimson Rock Construction for your load bearing wall removal project

I have always loved working with Greg and I never hesitate recommending him to others when I'm asked if I know any good contractors. Greg is extremely knowledgeable, dependable, and fair. I would trust him implicitly with any project.

The most recent project Greg helped me with was my mudroom/laundry room. I was wanting to move the washer and dryer into its own dedicated room but all the bids I received before Greg involved cutting and jackhammering into the concrete floor to run all the pipes. Because of all this the plumbing cost was going to be EXPENSIVE! I asked Greg come over and give me his opinion and he proposed an idea of using a utility pump and run the pipes through a soffit along the ceiling instead of cutting into the floor. The idea was in a word, genius! And would only cost a fraction of the other bids I had received, and Greg's included the framing, drywall, pump, and plumbing.

I have also used Greg for tile work and drywall. Each time he has brought with him contractors that were expertly skilled and dependable. I will use Greg and Crimson Rock Construction again, there is no doubt.

Crimson Rock helped us add an attached garage with square footage above to our 1950s home, move the kitchen, and remodel the basement. This project definitely had its challenges (plaster walls and ceilings, adding ac to a house with no duct work, relocating stairs) and was staged over several summers per our request. Greg did an excellent job, was able to give us an incredibly accurate idea of cost for the whole project upfront and only increased his bid when our changes increased the cost of materials. His sub contractors were so good I’ve given their contact info to friends and family. Everything turned out beautifully, just as I had envisioned. I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Greg.

We had Crimson Rock (Greg) knock out a wall and do a beam. Months later, we had Greg come back later to do an addition on our house. We had him back on two major jobs.

Greg came way under other bids but also the work was phenomenal to inspection. Several areas my city inspector said they overbuilt. Greg was also ahead of our planned scheduling details. He was always there for us through the whole process and was great about answering my stupid questions (ie, his time was wasted doing this but he always was good for a chat). His crew were always super friendly and knocking stuff out wicked fast.

If you're in for a visit in the Cottonwood Heights area, I'd gladly let Greg refer you to come see his work and I can tell you in person our awesome experience with Greg. I don't personally know Greg, but I would absolutely refer him to a friend based on our experience. Seems like a super guy and he and his crew did super work.

My 1942 home had some main floor support issues (a leaning railroad tie was all that was holding my house up). Gave Greg a call for a free estimate, he came out same day with his estimate. Scheduled a day to come and take care of it. Fast, professional and clean. Great service and communication, I'll be calling him again should I need similar repairs in the future.

Very sad to post a bad review about a local business but we had a pretty bad experience with this contractor. They left our house a mess will piles of sawdust staples, nails, and stains directly on/in our carpet. The electrician’s work was very lazy and he added ~5 junction boxes in our ceiling needing to be accessible rather than doing the job correctly so now we need to rip it out and have it redone properly. The head honcho came to our house and saw the horrible state of everything with his own eyes before leaving and billing us. He knew it was horrible work and chose to leave it knowing we couldn’t tell the difference at the time. We had an actual professional look at the work and they couldn’t believe their eyes.

Greg and his team really outdid themselves, we have wanted to do an addition on our home for some time and he made those dreams a reality! From ironing out kinks in our plan and explaining the process so we knew what was going on and what to expect all along the way, to meeting and exceeding city inspection requirements, working with engineers to ensure quality and that our home is safe and strong. He was quick and clean and careful to help us stay on budget. I will definitely use their service again on future projects.
