Grove Tree’s is my absolute go-to tree company after the experience I just had with them. I had a 35 foot dead quaking aspen tree that was leaning towards our house and has been growing about 5 feet from the house. I had four different companies come and give me a quote. Grove trees was 50% and more less than the other companies, but cost wasn’t necessarily the most important factor in choosing who would do the job. In the process of choosing which company to go with, I wasn’t going to go with the cheapest, but of utmost importance was a company that was licensed, insured, and experienced and Grove is all of this! What I did find out was that Nick, the owner and person who actually performs the work, is also a certified arborist! In watching how he took down the tree, he used all of the necessary safety equipment, including safety helmets, climbing gear, etc. The tree was down, loaded into the truck, and my yard completely cleaned up all within 45-60 minutes. He explained that to take down a dead tree should not be an enormous expense if it was an uncomplicated job. (Whew, honesty and fairness. How refreshing.) I so appreciated his honesty, efficiency, safety, and all around good work ethic. He came exactly when he said he would and got the job done quickly and safely. He was excellent, kind, and professional, and I would recommend him without hesitation to anybody who is looking to have work done on their trees. Thank you so much for saving me money and safely doing the job you said you would!

Nick was so professional in all aspects of his business. Very attentive to our needs and did an amazing job. I thought his pricing was very fair and his attention to detail in my yard was amazing. I highly recommend Nick and his team for all your tree trimming and removal needs. I just can’t say enough good about our experience. And to top it off, Nick is just a really nice guy.

Nick and his trusty sidekick, Royer did an excellent job trimming some trees that were hanging over our fence into the neighbors yard. They were very professional and kind. If you need a job well done, these are your guys!

Wind Storm brought our tree down in Front yard, the crew arrived & took care of it within the hour, cleaned things up, & everything was restored to normal. Great Low Price too.

They were very professional, showed up on time with all equipment needed. Took my big tree down in 3 hours and went above and beyond by removing additional wood pile on the side of my house at no extra charge. They cleaned up after themselves and left a beautiful stump. I'm extremely happy and highly recommend using them.

Professional, friendly, on time. Jesus and crew did a great job for some tree work in Lake Oswego. Highly recommend. And, they were the lowest bid by half from the highest bidder. Would hire them again in a heartbeat.

From the reviews, it seems Nick is great with trimming—not a surprise; he came off as professional and seemed to enjoy his work: taking down my tree by shimmying up/down, as he is a rock climber, dropping limbs with care, nice cleanup etc as reviews suggest. If all you need is trimming, he could be your guy.
However, if he is removing your tree and his bid includes poisoning the stump and/or grinding stump/roots—beware. That part of the work was apparently an afterthought (he subs out the grinding); it was very sub-par. Big chunks of the trunk were not ground and then were raked over with chips so as to be not visible; a dozen-plus roots he agreed would be ground out were not; tree shoots have popped up all over my yard which would not occur were the stump properly poisoned.
His response to my dissatisfaction was a defensive, “I shouldn’t have taken the job,” vs: “oops, I underbid the grinding-roots portion of the job, my bad; how can I make it right?”

We have some honeysuckle bushes that are wrapped around a pergola that we are starting to lose to aphids and powdery mildew. Nick was super helpful in giving me some recommendations I could try before coming out to treat them. When that didn't work, we called him and he was thorough and professional. He even squeezed us in before his vacation!

Great work by Nick and his team! He trimmed our trees and gave them a special treatment so they’ll be nice and healthy. Really appreciated his quick response time, skill, and attention to detail. We will definitely be long time clients of Grove Tree Care. Highly recommend!
