These guys are fantastic. We have them come once a year to service our gas fireplace. They’re incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. They’re also very responsive and have been able to accommodate our schedule. Highly recommend.
Wish I had gone elsewhere. Initially, I thought very highly of this company. My opinion has slowly dropped to a 1. I had Comfort Solutions install a new air conditioner last January. I went with them despite being the highest quote because the salesman promised a quality install and said anything missed on the quote would be covered—no surprise charges. He even joked that if he missed anything, it would come out of his salary. At this point, I don’t trust that I received a quality installation and now need to find someone else to fix a couple of issues. The good: When I’ve called with problems, they’ve always been kind and responsive. They’ve come out the same day three times and returned twice more to work on the system. The annoying: Each visit I found left behind screws, solder strips, and black marks on the walls—something I probably wouldn’t mention if I weren’t so frustrated with the rest. The bad: Turns out my AC system needs a condensate pump and tubing. On install, they reused the previous setup since it seemed to work fine with my previous unit. I understand that initial choice, but not what came next. I’ve had two water leaks, causing a lot of stress and time: I’ve had to arrive late or leave work early five times, and it’s still not fixed. The first time, water leaked from a vent into my kitchen. The tech who came out said he’d never seen a condensate line like mine and that a salesman would contact me to discuss the best solution. Instead, they redid the same setup using copper tubing as the line. I should have asked more questions based on what the tech told me, but I trusted they knew what they were doing. A couple months later, the system leaked again and shut down. Tech #2 couldn’t believe the “condensate line.” He said it should have had a condensate pump and plastic tubing from the start and wasn’t even sure where the copper line was draining. During his visit, he also noticed the air return wasn’t attached to the wall (photo) and that one vent was not properly connected (that vent was not installed by Comfort Solutions). Warranty said they’d reattach the return and take a look at the vent but wouldn’t cover the condensate pump since it wasn’t on the original quote—despite what the salesman told me. I declined the $450 pump because I no longer trust their work enough to pay them more. Had they discussed it with me the first time, I probably would have gone with it. When the warranty tech came to fix the return and duct, I had to leave for work. When I got back, the duct was completely detached and sitting between the floorboards (photo). If they decided it was more work than they were willing to do, at least let me know—don’t just leave it worse than you found it without saying anything. The return had been taped to the wall. I hoped that meant it was fixed and covered with tape for extra support, but now the tape is curling off in multiple places, and there’s still a gap-though it is smaller (photo). Ya, feeling pretty taken right now. TL;DR Paid extra for what I thought would be a “premium” install with no surprise charges. Got leaks, sloppy work, and broken promises instead. Warranty fixes didn’t actually solve my problems, so I now need to hire someone else to finish the job correctly.
Comfort Systems saved us thousands of dollars. I recently had another unnamed company come out for a $29 tune up special on my ac. When they finished, they told my wife that my 10 year old system needed to be replaced, that we had leaks which required a $3000 dye test and that we likely needed a whole new system. They even offered to have a supervisor come out to our house at any hour to talk about a system replacement. I suspected this was likely a huge up sale as no company can run, cover costs and thrive on $29 service calls. That led to me to Comfort Solutions as a second opinion. This time I paid the regular cost for an ac tune up and when Logan arrived, I let him know he was there for a second opinion. Logan did an excellent job going through everything and even walked me through all that they look at. He checked everything and all his readings and pressure came back spot on. He explained why everything was actually working very well and well maintained (We change filters monthly with only a few misses and have paid for yearly tune ups since we got the system. Up until recently we had never tried the to too good to be true deal before and always paid regular costs). Don’t waste your time with a $29 tune up and just hire a company like Comfort Solutions. They won’t try to scam you out of many thousands of dollars.
