Electrical reviews in West Jordan, Utah

I must have called 15 electric companies and all of them told me the soonest they could get a technician out to me would be 2-6 days out. When your power is out and your spouse works from home watching two toddlers and it’s the middle of summer it’s an emergency to get the power back on in your home. Orange electric was able to get to me same day diagnosed the issue with my main breaker almost immediately and not only fixed it quickly but also noticed one of my other breakers had a loose cable and likely prevented me from having a future issue. Don’t waste your time trying to get one of the other electric companies over to your home just give these guys a call and be done with it.

I called Orange Electric as an out-of-state customer. I have family in Salt Lake City and I needed a fixture installed in their laundry room. I called several other companies that did not return my calls. Orange Electric was responsive, on time and took great care of my family. I added a personal request to leave a friendly note to my family, in which they came through in spades. I'm very grateful for their service to the Salt Lake community.

Orange electric is EXACTLY what you look for in an electrician. They helped us design a solution that would work for out needs and avoid unnecessary costs in the process. Orange then completed the installation per the plan and adapted to a number of challenges which were not known until the project began. Their pricing was fair, their work was quality and their communication was excellent. We'll certainly use them again.

I called to schedule a repair on our kitchen light and was surprised that they could come out that afternoon. They showed up and gave me a few options on the repair. I chose what I wanted and they did just what they said they would do and for the price stated. The two guys were very nice, cleaned up before the left and thanked me for my business. They will get my next call for sure.

The initial install of our doorbell had a few problems, but Austin and the owner came back and both worked hard until everything was perfect. I was very impressed with their dedication to making sure everything was exactly how I needed it. Thanks for a job well done.

My Mom called these guys and they came out and changed 9 smoke detectors, but there was a 10th one that needed to be done as well. They sent the technician back out and there was some confusion about the price. I called them to discuss it and was able to get right through to someone who listened to me and explained what was going on. In the end they offered to fix it for free. The customer service was excellent and I could tell they were committed to doing they needed to do to make sure she was taken care of.

They did a great job. We got the estimate the same day they came, we were on the schedule immediately and the job was done in a couple hours. Highly recommended!

We called Orange electric to do a simple job of installing a bathroom vent fan. Before they started the project the tech whipped out his iPad to inform me of the cost. It seemed VERY overpriced, and felt manipulative that they will charge either to repair or replace the item, and you have to decide before the job or they will charge you both fees, which the Price was already ridiculous!!!! We are in the process of selling our house and didn't have time to back out on the call.......but not only did I feel ripped off, but they will charge you double the price if you don't go buy the installation item yourself. So the tech sent me to Lowes to buy the $25.00 fan(while the techs sat and my house in their van).....then it got worse....the tech was training someone who had no business being an electrician and after they left I discovered that they broke a towel rack. I would NEVER use this company, unless you want to be charged 10 times more than you should and want your house damaged.

We had new appliances installed, and someone (will go unnamed) flipped the circuit breakers for the dishwasher install. When the breakers were switched back, we were without power in about 1/2 of our house. Flipped the circuit breakers back and forth to no avail. Felt we needed an electrician and so I called around looking for someone who could get us an electrician today. Blake was so kind and responsive on the phone, calling me back within 10 minutes after checking to see if one of his electricians, who was out, would be able to do it. Alas, he was already booked into what was going to be a 12-hr day. But, all was not lost! Blake walked me through what he would do if he came to our place. On the phone, he talked me through flipping my outside breaker, and then talked me through our inside circuit breaker box. And, we figured out the problem. Viola! I asked to pay him for his time, which he politely declined. But he absolutely deserves a 5-star review (I'd give 10 if I could) for taking the time to talk us through the problem solving and fixing our problem. Blake and Orange Electric are champs in my book, and they will be the first people I call if we run into another problem (but, maybe Blake won't answer because he now knows we're idiots!). THANK YOU Blake!

I decided not to use Orange Electric because they could not justify the items in their quote to install an ev charger. The quote I received was very general and did not provide a breakdown of labor, overhead and supplies. Furthermore, the initial quote was nearly $3000 for a 48 amp service. Only after I asked what the current system could support (32 amp) was I offered a quote of just under $800. I do not think most people would know to ask that and it was not offered as an option until I asked a few detailed questions.
Regardless of the quotes and having previously worked for one of the electrical component companies whose supplies were needed (and having previously done electrical work), I was somewhat familiar with the requirements and knew a few questions to ask. I wanted to give the company the benefit of the doubt.
After verifying the material needed over a call with Orange Electric and pricing it out at local contractor supplies stores, I determined that the materials needed were less than one third of the quoted price. When I then called the company to get additional information on the quote, they were not able to provide answers to my detailed questions and was told they would need to call me back. One of the managers (or possibly the owner) then called me back and equated their pricing system to “ordering a big mac from MacDonalds. It’s all in the cost of the burger”. This did not sit well with me, especially when the quotes from other contractors were significantly less and they were able to break down the supplies and labor out of the estimate.
After thinking about their responses, I just feel that the management was trying to take advantage of me because they assumed I did not know what I was talking about. From the initial quote to the inability to break down the line items listed. I will say that the electrician that came to my house was courteous and knowledgeable. I just do not have confidence that they are offering competitive pricing for relatively routine jobs like replacing breakers and installing 4/3 nonmetallic lines. I have no doubt that the electrician that came to my house would do good work, I just feel that they are trying to take advantage by not offering multiple (cheaper) options, not having clear and direct estimates, or being able to explain the details of the estimate when questioned. I recommend getting additional quotes and asking for detailed cost breakdowns before deciding to use this company. -
We’ve had Austin out to our home several times. Every time, he has been so polite, professional, and trustworthy. We bought a home and inherited some electrical issues from the previous owners. He really got to know our issues and helped us break down the problems into more manageable pieces. If we weren’t moving up north, we would ask for Austin again. What a great guy! Thank you!

We have been using Orange Electric for a couple years for all our electrical needs at our industrial shop. They have also helped when we have customers who need work done.
We have always been pleased with their service and their workmanship is fantastic. They are very reliable and dependable. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They didn't have any availability on my days off so I had to take a day off work, inconvenient but not a big deal. However,
the morning of the appointment I received a call roughly an hour before they were supposed to be there canceling the appointment and wanting to reschedule. It was a morning appointment so I thought it would be just a little bit later but I was told that the rest of the day was booked. They said that they could try to "squeeze " me in the next morning or I would have to wait two weeks for the next opening or find another company. Becuse I was required to pay half of the estimated cost up front just to get the appointment and the hardware I was told would be needed had been purchased I felt put on the spot. I ended up taking another day off work to get this done. The guys that came out were nice and did a good job replacing the light fixture but informed me that the way one of my outlets were left would not pass an inspection. From that day I started getting text messages, phone calls, emails, and letters in the mail hounding me to write a review. Here is your review, please stop harassing me! Lose my number, lose my address. -
The electricians here are amazing! They are highly knowledgeable in the trade and gave me confidence that the job would be done right the first time. They cleaned up nicely and were very respectful. Overall very impressed with Orange Electric and I will be recommending them to all my friends and family!

Very pleased with the service we received from Orange Electric, from the initial call to set up service to the end of the appointment. We received a reminder text and confirmation about the appointment, our tech, Austin showed up on time, and was able to provide several solutions for our problem. I feel very confident in the assessment we were given and when we decide to move to the next phase of our project, we will absolutely use Orange Electric!

I am manage a multitude of commercial buildings in the Salt Lake Valley and have been using Orange Electric to service many of these buildings for the past two years. Blake, Tara and the rest of their team are fantastic. Responsive, easy to work with, go getters. They can assist in projects big or small. Orange Electric is my first call when any of my clients need any sort of assistance.
These guys rock! -
Willie did work for us twice. I would invite him and his family to dinner because he was so courteous and professional. Both of Willie’s assistants were awesome and wonderful! I felt like our home mattered like it was their own. Orange Electric couldn’t have been better represented than by the incredible teams they sent to our home. Best call I could have made.

Great overall experience from meeting with Blake about the whole difficult and technically challenging project moving power to go through our new garage then to the house, working with Tara who made it happen sooner than originally scheduled (twice, due to weather and framing delays), and finally having Steven come out, doing a clean and awesome job, and working through a blizzard no less, passing the first inspection after a full day of prep, to finishing the job on time the next day.

It is hard to find a contractor - and they are ALL expensive. Orange Electric came in for an estimate with 2 days notice and completed all work within 7 days. They were fast and professional. I feel like I got what I paid for.
They mounted 3 ceiling fans and installed some new electrical boxes outside. They even did an "easy small repair" I added at no charge during the visit. I would use them again. -
Blake was an absolute pleasure to work with. We had Orange come out to help with our building with some crazy electrical problems and we were able to work out everything we needed. Based on this experience, I definitely will use them again and recommend them!

$228 to change a light switch. When I asked what their labor rate was, I was told $115/hour. We changed three switches and had two fixtures installed (we provided the fixtures). It took the techs less than 45 minutes and cost over $800. We were in a bind to get a unit ready to rent again and had few options. At these rates however, we would have been better off eating a month of rent and having ANYONE else to do the work. Their book rates are absurd. I gave them two stars instead of one because the techs were very nice and professional.
