We are incredibly grateful for the team at Solomon Home Improvement! We are first time home owners and called them for a few fixes, communication was clear, they arrived on time and were very friendly. They handled all of our issues for a great price and even came back out the next day when we realized we had another problem!

Yes hired Solomon and his crew too break down my old fence and deck and build me new ones and they did a terrific job. They were so nice, hard working and professional. I would recommend them to anybody that needs work done inside or outside. A wonderful company.

I recently had flooding in my basement due to the freezing weather the past few weeks. Before I was referred to Solomon’s company, I was searching for a vendor to remodel my basement after the flood restoration contractors did not offer remodeling.

I had a quote from another home improvement company before I negotiated pricing and scope with Solomon. I was referred to Solomon by one of the flood restoration vendors I approached because they deemed the project to be more suitable.

Solomon drove from NoVA to our home in Columbia and gave us an assessment at no charge. After his sales package and the hourly rate he gave us, he was able to talk down his initial offering. He mentioned the job would take 12hr and 2 days considering the amount of time it would take and finding adequate staff.

A week later with the project finished, the project ended up taking 3 days: 2 8hr days and one final 3 hr day to finish everything. I ended up paying him more for this project than I did for the home restoration team…Mind you this project ended up being twice the amount the home improvement company quoted me for. I gave a rating of 2 stars because the work was complete, but the timing was highly unsatisfactory.

Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with the failure to meet the timing he gave me as an estimate. I chose Solomon’s company understanding that the initial estimate I was given would be slightly higher than the other company, but based on (some) of the reviews here I decided to give him a chance.

We did have a conversation today about what could have been done better, and I told him the timing made us exceed the budget you estimated. He acknowledged it, and also said I asked him to do something that we did not initially discuss. The part of the project we initially discussed was part of the whole reason my basement flooded -the pipe leading from my washing machine to the exterior of my house froze.

They were fully aware of what needed to be done, and from my perspective worked longer hours despite giving me a “discounted rate”.

He also cited that he tried to do the best job he can and that the reviews on his website speaks for themselves. I told him today that there were reviews reflective of the same issue I had which were pricing and the timing of the work.

Lessons learned for anyone who took the time to read this. Please ensure that the time of the project is discussed with this company. Otherwise you’ll get finessed like me.

Oh, and he also mentioned to me today that I should keep him in mind for any future projects. So Google, I’ll ask you a rhetorical question. Would you go back and accept his work again?

I couldn’t be happier with their work! I had a great experience with this home installation company from start to finish. The quality of their work was excellent, the team was professional and knowledgeable, and the customer service was outstanding. They took the time to answer my questions and made sure everything was done right. On top of that, their pricing was very fair and transparent. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and high quality home installation services.

Solomon is a master of his crafts. (He can do pretty much anything and if he isn't able to he has people who can) His crew took care of repainting an entire 3 story town home, to include patching dry wall damage being repaired, staining my mothers 2 decks and fence, as well as augering out a super bad clogged toilet drain in an extremly quick time frame. Long story short my mothers house was condemmed and I had 30 days to get it back in order. Solomon Home Improvement saved me and got my mother back into her home! Solomon went way above and beyond in helping me as the garbage disposal had to be replaced and 2 of the toilets I had installed by a plumber were not even done correctly.....fixed them right up and to top it all off, installed the 3rd toilet that my plumber never came back to complete. Long story short if your looking for a professional, reliable, top notch company for any home repair needs or projects, save yourself the headache of calling around and get ahold of him asap. I am super picky and I literally couldnt find anything to nit pick on. If I was able to give him more then 5 stars I would give them to him. Hands down the best contractor I have worked with. He provides top notch work and repairs, is super professional, and makes great recommendations on things he noticed that needed to be addressed. All that, and he is very competitive cost wise as I got 4 other quotes on all the work they performed. He even was kind enough to refer me to another contractor on something else I needed done before he was available to start, and the person he recommended me to was awesome and ended up saving us about $4,000. ( that was work that I had received 3 other quotes for as well.) He blew my expectations away on what I expected the job to look like once completed. In truly evaluating the end result, I can 100% say the end result is that the house looks better then when I did the walk thru inspection with my mother when she purchased it brand new 20 year ago.

I hope people looking at your fake good reviews know how deficient you are. Hope someone has enough time to bring you down some day.

I'd give them -0 star if I could. Not only he over charged me by saying that he'll be with 4 guys, when only himself was capable of getting anything done, they took their grand time "attempting" to do any kind of work.

Totally wasted my time + wasted more hundreds of $$ by bringing in someone who's incapable & not professional enough to handle handyman jobs. Never again.

** Update on 12/27/25 - regarding a 2 hour credit; should've given at least 6 hour credit.

Your team arrived at 11am, all 3 men spent most of the day waiting for you to jump in to help, which prevented you from doing your job. At $250 hourly rate, you'd think that at least 3 will be semi-skilled, not helpers who can't even put a fire alarm on the wall without your instructions.

I'd never have agreed to hire you had I known that 3 men are incapable of being handymen, which also caused to add more hours for you to instruct them every single time they asked for help. 2 hour credit is a joke since it's out of 7 hours that you were at the apartment, which should've only taken 4~5 hours to complete the job, if you had skilled workers to begin with.

What you mentioned below is nothing but excuses and I hope everyone sees this so that they won't get ripped off. Also, you did offer to help with the bathroom vanity you improperly installed since it's leaking water - after all this, you think that I'm that slow to hire you again? I'd rather hire a professional who knows what he's doing.

I'm sharing some pictures so everyone can see what a clean job you did, and also how your workers left dirty finger marks all over my newly painted wall.

Solomon did multiple jobs at our house, his finished work looks good. His whole team is really good, Solomon is very knowledgeable and gives good recommendations.
Only thing I would say that when he writes the contract make sure that you put everything down carefully, because once they start, they will strictly follow what's written in the contract.
For me everything went well. And yes I will hire him again for my other jobs.

Solomon home inprovement helped me to change two white pest guards hood on March 02.When I called them on the weekend and Solomon Blankson and his team came on next Monday morning. I hired Solomon Home Improvement for a multi-part project at my home and could not be more pleased with the results. I needed help assembling gym equipment in my basement, putting together furniture in several bedrooms, and completing some minor drywall repairs.
