Corey and his team put together a comprehensive plan to redo the landscaping in my front and backyards. I’m of the age where I need a very low maintenance yard. They redid the front beds to simplify to a few shrubs and showcase the Japanese Maple, prepped the yard and laid sod plus locate and setup my sprinkler system to function for sod. Next trip they installed a retaining wall to level the slope towards the erosion pond in my rear yard. They maintained the pond, leveled the yard, installed 4 underground rain drains from down spouts to pond to decrease erosion in the future. Next was new sod for the yard along with locating the sprinkler heads and setting up the system for the lawn to establish roots.
Next is the fence! I’m in love with my yard! I can finally maintain it myself!

Only praise for this company! Corey, Craig, and Robert are an awesome team. We have been adding to the exterior of our home over the past two years. We started with pavers on one side of our driveway, with lighting, then moved to the back yard to add a paver patio. From there we added an exterior wood burning fireplace (which we have enjoyed so much), a new walkway around the house and then replaced our driveway with pavers surrounding and dividing the new parking pads. We also had Corey grade our back yard, add a row of medium to tall evergreens, and had all of our front landscaping replaced. COREY GALLAHER, the owner, is the most conscientious contractor we have ever dealt with! He is top notch. Don't hesitate to call him. If you can imagine it, he can imagine it even better. We hired Heritage Landscaping to do a big job on our fence. It had been falling over in places, hurricanes over recent years, trees were growing and splitting it apart in some places, it was a mess. They came in, tore out what needed to be torn out. Replaced a bunch and ripped out trees and bushes that were in the way. They built the fence to maintain the integrity of details that were in the existing fence and made it all look cohesive.

They were professional, prompt, and my 87 year old neighbor was watching them and told me he had never seen anyone with so much energy and enthusiasm to get work done. These guys are truly a cut above the rest, they genuinely care, and they love what they do. Born and raised right here in Chesapeake. Give Corey a call. You won’t be disappointed!

We removed an above the ground pool and decided to have Heritage come back out to design and achieve a new look. Other than the outer perimeter which will be done in the spring we now have a super beautiful new area. It is the best paver job we have ever seen Corey and his crew are excellent. They worked with us, were on time and did a fantastic job cleaning up. The design is outstanding. Thank you Heritage Landscaping.

In October 2024 we had Heritage Landscaping grade and add compost to our lawn, then sow grass seed. We also had them install drain lines from our gutter downspouts to the back of our property to solve our drainage problems in our back yard. We were so pleased with their work that we hired them again in March of 2025 to take care of several more projects for us. They removed the old wooden fencing and installed a new 6 foot vinyl privacy fence on the sides and front of our backyard. They also installed new metal fencing across the rear of our property. To solve our drainage problems in our front yard they installed drainage piping to all of our gutter downspouts and fed them all into a sump basin where a sump pump discharges all of the water through our curb to the street. They also removed our old cracked driveway and installed a new one, which also slopes and drains into our sump basin. Finally, we had them install some new hedges and two ten foot tall Maple trees in our backyard. Corey, Craig, Robert and their team were amazing and were a pleasure to work with. Most importantly, all of these projects exceeded our expectations. We could not be more pleased! We will be sure to call Heritage in the future for any of our landscaping projects. We have used Heritage Landscaping many times. I had multiple recommendations for them from residents in our neighborhood. Corey is incredibly nice, professional, prompt, great with communicating, knowledgeable, and his prices are incredibly fair and lower than other landscaping companies.

Corey and his team put in an amazing patio in our backyard. He worked with me on the color pavers, size, shape, etc.. They worked so hard, and got the job done in the time he estimated. It was a big job, and he took care of all the details. I am SO pleased with my patio!

I've also had huge landscaping jobs that Corey and his team have completed. Corey is great with giving me advice on what to do with landscaping, understands my needs, estimates a good price, and the team does a great job. I've had him trim a lot of huge bushes and my holly, mulch, plant bushes, clean up large privacy wall areas, take away mulched areas and put sod down, fix areas around sidewalks that were flooding a little during rain, fix my brick wall around the mulch beds in back, remove smaller tree stumps, and many other landscaping needs.

Corey is very knowledgeable, and good about explaining things with the yard, and recommending how to change/makes things better. I also respect how good he is with communicating. I know he will always respond to my texts of emails. Just like all workers, jobs get busy. If I don't hear from him right away, he makes sure to contact me as soon as he gets a chance. If he is delayed because of other projects or super busy, he makes sure to let me know. He has always worked with my schedule.

One thing that is also great, is that his team cleans up everything. They do such a good job making everything look really good once the project is finished. The guys that work on his team are all very nice, polite, and have been patient/understanding with my landscaping needs and changes.

Corey has been wonderful with building my patio, and doing all my landscaping needs. I know he also does a lot more with back yard design/building. I don't have Facebook, but I hope customers read my review here. You won't go wrong hiring him.

Needed to fix some drainage issues from our patio/deck construction 10 years ago and to extend the deck off our sunroom. Heritage hit it out of the park - that additional decking matches the original and the waterfall is just a class act - 6 out of 5 stars. Thank you Corey

We are very pleased with the project that Heritage Landscaping Inc. helped us with. We had severe erosion that required a retaining wall. From the beginning of the project to the end Corey and the team exhibited professionalism, quality, flexibility and promptness. Each day they were sure to clean up the job site before leaving. Our property had a number of challenges that needed to be addressed and Corey always made sure to provide the solutions. He was patient with all our questions and concerns and we were happy with the proposal. The proposal was a fair price. Day one of the project we decided we'd like to add landscaping to the area. Corey had no problem pivoting for the additional request and presented us with a beautiful plan that incorporated some of our favorite plants. It looks lovely and our neighbors are loving it also. The team started and ended the project on time even though we had added the landscaping request to the original contract. We highly recommend Heritage Landscaping Inc. We definitely made a good choice.

My first experience with Heritage Landscaping was in 2022 when I needed help on a project I was working on to convert a 10,000 sq ft area at a public park into a native bed. That was when I first met Corey.

The property was devoid of nutrients and had been a former dump area for a construction site. We needed Heritage to help us prepare the property for 19 trees and 126 shrubs and 3000 perennials to be planted which Corey and his team did beautifully. I found them to be professional and thorough. Our project was part of a city grant and because we were all volunteers trying to make a difference, we were overwhelmed when Corey stepped in to help by securing donations of compost from a landscape company to help provide much needed compost that we could not afford. It touched us and told me a lot about Heritage and I have been a loyal customer ever since!

I find Corey to be an honest man who keeps his word, cares about the customer and provides outstanding work. He leads a great team of people. Our bed was recently recognized by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation as an example of resilience in Norfolk. Without Heritage Landscaping, we would not have had the proper foundation.

Since then, we have called upon Heritage for help and they continue to provide the service and outstanding work we have come to expect. I cannot wait to have them refresh my tired backyard!!!
