David and crew came to my house and did an excellent job on our flowerbeds and our tree work. Did exactly what he said he was gonna do prompt service courteous people will call next time and refer friends and family thanks affordable cuts outstanding job

I am beyond satisfied with the high level of customer service and response time. Friendly, dependable and they did an amazing job! They pulled out two, 7 ft tall overgrown bushes as well as three knockout rose bushes that were dying. You couldn't even tell the bushes had been there once they were finished with the job. I will definitely be using Affordable Cuts in the future!

David is truly a genuine guy I got everything he promised plus more. His price was reasonable and his crew did the job a day ahead of schedule and made sure to go the extra mile to make sure my flower beds where mulched with extra care of my plants. Thank you so much it is nice to get the service you are promised. I will be using them for all my landscape needs in the future.

Dave and his crew of 4 men arrived at 9am and left at 1pm with only a 15 minute break. They did everything my wife wanted and we were both pleased with their attitude and work. They took all the cuttings away and left the yard and surrounding area clean. I will recommend them highly.

David was knowledgeable, professional and took the time to make sure he was meeting my expectations and helped me pick out just the right plants, borders and mulch for my yard. My yard looks great and I’ll definitely be using affordable cuts again!

I would like to highly recommend Affordable Cuts and owner, David Williams. On 9/6 Winds from Hurricane Dorian caused an 80 foot pine tree to shear in half and fall across my property smashing my stone steps and retaining wall near my front door. The damage and clean up was massive. David and his crew arrived when promised 9/8 and on time (7:30am) and did not leave until all was cleaned up and taken away. David and his team were professional, respectful and compassionate (I was very shaken up as I saw this tree come down and narrowly miss my house ). I found his price to be extremely reasonable given the scope of the damage and the clean-up. I will be using this company again. Thank you David for everything!

The guys at Affordable are great to work with. Many contractors are not responsive these days but these guys definitely are. Very professional and open communication as well. They were very fast and did a great job removing our boxwoods and some trees. They went the extra mile to try and smooth out where the boxwoods were which was not expected and very much appreciated. Would not hesitate to call on them again. Great company.

Just moved into our new home and our yard needed a massive cleanup. We called Affordable Cuts and David came right out to see what we needed done. I found David extremely honest, didn’t try to drive home an agenda of unneeded work while at the same time offered expert opinions when I asked. My father was a lawn/landscape guy so I am very familiar with this type of work. We had numerous small to medium trees removed, bushes trimmed back, edging, mulching, and had his crew remove several limbs intruding into my yard/fence from neighboring yards. David and his crew literally transformed my yard! While we were going over the work he and his crew did, I mentioned that I couldn’t figure out my sprinkling system. David didn’t hesitate to show me how it worked and even gave me pointers. Over the years I have worked with many people and I don’t think you’ll find anyone more genuine, professional and who will deliver his word. It’s nice to not worry about who to call for any work in my yard, because I know that I can trust David to give me an honest price and deliver a great product. In fact, I already have my next job lined up and Affordable Cuts is who will do it!

David and his guys were great! They helped us to clean up overgrown bushes and brush as well as trim trees. They were fast, friendly and very knowledgeable. They showed up and got the job done in half a day, something I would not have thought possible. And the are kind to your budget! Will definitely use them again, great local company!

What impressed us about him that he says what he is going to do and he does exactly what he says which is a rare quality in business today. Great work David and his guys has done. They cleaned up all the bushes and outgrown trees in our front yard. They did it fast and excellent work. And the price is very reasonable. Our front yard looks much better. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

We HIGHLY recommend Affordable Cuts!! We had been having drainage problems in our yard for years, and not only did they fix the problem....David and his crew were awesome to work with!! They were very professional, did beautiful work, and VERY reasonably priced! David even followed up afterwards, just to make sure we were satisfied with the work. EXCELLENT customer service!!
We plan to use them for all of our lawn care needs in the future!

I hired David without waiting for the other estimates because I wanted the job done as soon as possible. He was hired to remove 6 shrubs, trim hedges, spray some poison ivy, trim a medium size tree and grind a few small 10" or less hedge stumps. He and his son worked 1/2 the day then he had his wife and daughter help with cleanup. During the 5 hour job they worked efficiently, however I was charged over $1000.00 an hour. Yes, David charged me $5500.00 for 5 hours of work. Shame on me for not waiting on the other estimates and shame on this company for taking advantage of a customer who was eager to have a job done. I asked what substantiated the price and no explaination could really be given, only that some companies charge $12k for work. DON'T JUST GO BY THE GOOGLE REVIEWS (which BTW are over a year or more old) .... LOOK AT THE YELP & OTHER REVIEWS... many people wrote reviews about price gouging. BEWARE

I met with David in the morning to get an estimate on pruning and grooming an overgrown tree in my back yard as well as removing a large unruly holly bush from my front yard. The estimate was an amazing value! He left and had his crew at my home 2 hours later! They did a great job and only took 1-2 hours. They cleaned up everything and you could hardly tell they were here. I will use them again!

Just this week I had major work done on my entire yard. David from Affordable Cuts was kind enough to walk me through every step of the process. I had major water retention issues, low spots, and lots of overgrown bamboo. I am happy to say that my yard has never looked better! All of the overgrown bamboo, etc. is gone and in its place is beautiful mulch. My flower beds look amazing!! But most importantly, it looks like my drainage issues have been resolved! I have very little standing water today after yesterday's downpour. What I do have left will be taken care of once Affordable Cuts helps me grow some grass. I'm very happy with this work! Dave is very easy to work with, his prices are very competitive, and he did the work when he said he would in the amount of time he quoted me. I highly recommend Affordable Cuts!

Beware!!! Do not trust this company, and especially the owner! A Sloppy Unprofessional Job!
I was gone to a Doctor’s appointment the day he came, and when I returned home the damage was done! He did not follow my instructions that I gave him when he came to give me an estimate. He also charged way too much for the job. I’ve been very bad off medically due to cancer and related/unrelated factors, and normally I do my own work, and he took advantage of my situation.
I AM EXTREMELY UPSET ABOUT MY NICE 30+ YEAR OLD 5-6 FOOT BLUE BERRY bush THAT IS NOW GONE, it was dug up with the Nandinas that I wanted relocated and replanted in another location as instructed, which were not replanted, they were thrown on my fire pile where I told him he could put the debris-saving him $ I found one Nandina nice and green after I got a mobility scooter and saw it with 6 stalks, nice dirt root ball, and green all over on the fire pile, so I drug it to the location and planted it myself. because it was over 2 weeks before he returned to finish the job- which he did not.
A pic with a brick upright was where the blue berry bush was. And did not mulch the bed, and another bed in back yard, and the other 2 were done sloppy & w/o straight line and proper width.
He also hacked 2 of my best producing 30 yr old blue berry bushes that he was not supposed to touch! It’ll take years to get the production I was getting.
He also cut a approximately 2 ft. of a large azalea that he was only supposed to kill the vines growing in them, which are still thriving. It looks horrible!!!
He also hacked up a Blue Spruce I had been training into a special shape as a bush that was not to be touched!
Several areas, and shrub were not sprayed to kill them & weeds, grass.
There are other trees, and bushes that were not trimmed as specified.
A trench was made across part of my front flower bed that took out at least 20 ft of daffodils that was not supposed to be done. I had solid bricks that were used to edge that bed, which weren’t put back, and none of the beds in front were mulched where needed with supplied pine straw i had to do so. There were other cedar trees that were supposed to have limbs removed and did not do.
I paid him the full amount, which I should not had. I purchased a mobility scooter and was able to see the mess he left me with. The amount I paid him was enough to do the entire yard which is less than half I told him specifically the what I wanted done, but he obviously cannot follow instructions.

From the start, David and his crew have been fantastic! He assessed my situation and gave me a very competitive, affordable, and direct quote. Him and J.D. are two of the most polite people I've ever met. Lisa, who was handling payments and administration was amazing as well. She made sure that everything was as I wanted before taking my money. In addition to their professionalism, they are also experts in landscaping. My yard needed a lot of work (tilling, grading, seeding, etc.) and they executed flawlessly. David makes sure to stay in touch after the job is complete as well to ensure the customer is still satisfied with everything. I strongly recommend Affordable Cuts over any other landscaping company in the Hampton Roads area!

David and his crew did a fantastic job with overhauling my garden bed. They were quick to respond and get the job done. Emailed for a price quote and the very next day David came out took a look and gave me a quote. Two days later the job was done. The garden area looks great and David even offered tips on how to maintain it and keep it from getting into bad shape again.

David (the owner) made the estimate process easy and stress free. The cost was very reasonable!
