Jeremy and his team transformed our backyard into a peaceful, functional and beautiful retreat. We had extensive work done from new deck, railing, fire pit, pool surround and pool house. Though the worst winter weather in 5 years extended the project , the work is professional and world class. Lots of attention to detail. Outstanding supervision and communication.

I contacted South Side after reading all the positive reviews online and glad I did! I was able to book Jeremey to give us his ideas and estimate within 2 days. He has a very likable disposition and explained the whole process. We were able to see the kind of slate that would be used beforehand. The team he sent were very efficient and pleasant to work with. Chris (his partner) followed up today as it took only 2 days to do our stoop (porch) and walkway! Beautiful job, good price and great guys to deal with! I would hire them again if needed for another project!

Jeremy, Renee, and the entire crew were fantastic! They stuck to the schedule they promised, the price they quoted, and even threw in a couple items (like a lawn sprinkler) at no charge. Renee was tremendously friendly and addressed every question I had. Also, the crew cleaned everything up so that the property looked good as new! My yard looks great, I have new drainage, and I couldn’t be happier. I would whole-heartedly recommend this company!

Southside did an amazing job. They designed and built an 8x10 screened -in porch to replace my old one. Jeremy the owner and his manager Chris are very competent. They had ideas and suggestions that made the porch even better in both construction and appearance. I highly recommend them.

What a wonderful experience. We found South Side Specialties through an advertisement, so didn't know what to expect, but from the first appointment Jeremy was impressive. The planning, communication and attention to detail was wonderful and the finished product is spectacular. We had a very complicated project and are most grateful for their communication and problem solving when unforeseen issues arose. Jose, our foreman, was exceptionally skilled and thorough. We strongly recommend them and will absolutely hire them for additional projects in the future!

Jeremy and his team are great. They build a backyard paved patio for us. Jeremy helped us with selection of pavers and his team did a great job! He regularly visited the site when the work was on and updated us on the progress. They finished on time and did an excellent clean up after the work was completed. 5 star service!

So very grateful to have found this awesome local small business landscaper! Just a few of the things that set South Side Specialties apart from the rest of the pack:

1) Super responsive. Jeremy contacted me within hours of my email. Other landscapers took days, never got me estimates, or didn't respond at all.

2) Really listened to what I was trying to accomplish and worked with me to figure out how to get there. Jeremy didn't try to tell me what I should do or want- he made sure he understood what I wanted, and made suggestions that could accomplish that.

3) Reasonably priced and efficient. I got a better product for less than I paid previous landscapers. Jeremy and crew showed up on time and got work done quickly and thoroughly.

The scope of the work I had done was pretty extensive- major tree pruning, sod installation, retaining wall/flower beds, spring clean-up, removal of overgrown bushes, installation of plants, concrete pad poured, and installation of a large natural stone drainage system (tying into existing drain system) to accommodate the beautiful natural slope of my yard that backs on to a green space with drainage to the marina. Previously, rain would funnel directly across my yard, dragging debris and piling it against my fence, and keeping grass from growing. Thanks to Jeremy and his exceptional crew and vision, water is funneled away from my yard in a form that's lovely to look at, and I have a yard full of grass for my dogs to enjoy.

I highly recommend South Side Specialties for all your landscape/yard work needs. I will definitely use them again for any work we need.

South Side removed an uneven concrete and slab walkway. To say it was an eyesore is an understatement. They put in a beautiful flagstone walkway and wall and covered my porch as well. The crew was friendly, caring and very hardworking. I highly recommend them!

Jeremy responded to my questions and concerns in a timely manner. The employees are so respectful, always on time and they worked hard to complete the task. The project was completed in a timely manner and I couldn’t be any happier. We will rehire to complete the second part of our project. Will post pictures soon.

Update: Almost a year later, Jeremy and his company helped us in an emergency situation. Without any prior notice, the electrical company showed up digging in my yard with the intent to remove part of the patio to repair an electrical line. I contacted Jeremy about this emergency and he quickly showed up and properly took control of this situation. I’m so glad that even in my panicked state I thought clearly enough to call him because it honestly saved us so much possible damage and he properly removed and replaced all the pavers. Our patio looks as if nothing ever happened and now I have peace of mind that the patio is still properly installed and ready for when I’m able to install the deck. This is an amazing company.

I’ve been in the DMV area for going on two years. This company is BY FAR the best to have delivered on what they promised. Normally, I’ve become accustomed to seeing price inflation after final price agreement. However, not only did I receive great service at an excellent price, but the supervisors checked in regularly to ensure I was satisfied with the work of their team!!! If there was a higher rating than A+….. I’d give it without hesitation!

Southside Specialties covered our front stoop with flagstone and replaced our walkway. They completed the project in a few short days and the results drastically changed our home's appearance. I highly recommend Southside Specialties. They also fixed a sinking patio installed by another company a few short years ago. My only regret is not hiring them for the initial patio installation. Chris, Jeremy, and their staff are professionals.

We had a walkway put in from the side door to our driveway, and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! Originally, the stairs from the side door led right into a bush, so we wanted something that made more sense and looked nice. The team designed a beautiful curved walkway that ties everything together perfectly.

There was a small color mismatch at first, but they came back right away and fixed it — now it looks seamless. The whole process was smooth, professional, and the finished project looks great. Highly recommend them!

These guys are amazing with landscaping. I had been asking different companies for quotes on the work. Some popular ones couldn't even reply to my questions - they were like if you're just asking for quotes, don't even bother. Just wow. All About Landscaping, however, stopped by in person to view the scope of work and gave me a quote slightly lower than many other companies. Plus, I like the detailed plans explaining what he will do. Specific plans always win. I had overgrown bushes, plants, and weeds all around the house. I decided it was time for clearing it all up and mulch it so I picked All About Landscaping.

The team worked super fast. I thought it was going to take at least a day but they were in and out in less than 2 hours. The house looked so clean I couldn't even recognize it, haha. I thought about doing it myself but it'd have taken me several weeks on and off. Just hire these guys! By the way, they also do poison ivy clean up! I had poison ivy in the backyard and I called these guys again for the clean up. I didn't even bother asking for quotes this time.

One thing to note is that plastic underneath mulch isn't a good idea long term. But the issue is that there's no way to prevent the weeds from growing unless you use strong chemicals which end up hurting bees. The organic, natural option is going to require a seasonal maintenance. I don't really like either options long term. One hurts my wallet. One hurts the bees. If I don't pick one, the house looks ugly. Yikes!

This company is wonderful to work with. I reached out to get a quote on a project (removing several tons of gravel in planters, replacing it with top soil and mulch, mulching some trees, and moving a drain/adding a pop up drain), they answered on the first call, showed up within a day to take a look, got me a quote the next morning, and did the job several days later. The work itself was fantastic - they were very careful with my newly parged retaining walls and sod. They even put mulch a few spots that were not included in the contract. The price was very fair. No regrets at all. I will definitely be going back to them as I have more projects that need to get done. Thank you!

I hired All About Landscaping to complete a tree trimming and landscaping project. Of the many quotes I received, they offered the most competitive pricing for the total project and communicated well to make sure the scope of work was accurate and when to expect them to complete the job. They arrived with a good size team slightly early and worked efficiently to complete the job in one day as planned. They took care to trim the trees without causing damage to my yards and cleaned all the debris along with completing a full spring cleanup and mulch installation for all my garden beds. Joel and Enrique did a fantastic job cleaning up and refreshing my yard. They weeded all the areas around the flowers and shrubs, cut back the scrubs so they are clean looking, then a fresh coat of mulch and stone and all is new again. thanks.
