The Craftmaster Company has been great to work with right from the start. From touring their model homes with Sarah, to planning and customizing with Elizabeth and Tim Aloi, the property built with Terry Mills supervising, and even warranty work after the house settled, Craftmaster has been forthright and if an issue arose, the leadership of the company was easier to reach than that of other builders. I don’t believe you will find an easier builder to work with and we could see building with Craftmaster again. Tim Parent was very helpful for some concerns we had that needed addressing and most of our friends that built homes with them have also said the same thing for the entire company. 5 superstars!

Completely disappointed in the "Builder of Year". Highly recommend you do NOT use CM as a builder and look into your own warranty company upon closing.
We had a CM home built in 2019 and in Nov 2022, we noticed extensive mold/water damage to our basement closet which was odd as there are NO pipes on that side of the house (it is an outside wall). We contacted the 2-10 warranty company provided to us at closing about the issue to find/correct the problem and damages. 2-10 told us they would send out a person, but if the problem was something they could not see by the naked eye, then they would not fix anything and if they did find a problem, then they would only fix the problem and NOT repair any damages caused by the problem. We hired our own contractor at that point, because there was significant mold/water damage and we needed this fix ASAP. The contractor told us the problem stemmed from the roof over the stairwell was built incorrectly and basically had to replaced the whole side of our home. We reached out to CM to provide them with pictures of the problem and damage along with a receipt to tell them the issues with 2-10 and request reimbursement for damages. CM would not listen to us and continued to push us off to 2-10. So between CM and 2-10, neither company wanted to take accountability for the poor construction work and we had to pay for the damages out of our own pocket. It is a shame that builder of the year could not build a roof correctly nor do anything to satisfy their customer's needs.
Will NEVER use CM again!!! STAY AWAY!! -
Previously known as CRAFTMASTER HOMES. We built with them and had an awful experience. Betsy in the design center was not helpful. We were looked at as “less than” because of our age and how much money they thought we had for upgrades. Chad was a nightmare as a project “manager”…. I think he was fired though. And don’t get me started with warranty. Good luck getting your checklist done. Once closing is done they leave you high and dry. took us a year and a half to get things done. Also home floorplan was incorrect. They built the door to our bathroom right on the toilet and insisted it was correct until we made them take measurements and insisted it was wrong. Please find another builder and save yourself the trouble

We had the best experience building our new home due to the responsiveness of the team at Mungo Homes. Frasia Dunville worked hand in hand with us during the entire process. Zach Farrow and Frasia were communicative in answering all our questions. They called us weekly and met every deadline. The process was very smooth. We love our new home!

This is a unique review, but one I felt obligated to write. We decided not to buy a home with Mungo, but it was because we ultimately decided to stay in Mechanicsville. We loved Viniterra and the homes they were building, but just decided we did not want to leave Hanover County.
What I did want to talk about was the great experience of shopping with Mungo, but that experience was driven by their onsite sales professional Frasia. She was beyond professional and committed to trying to get us into a Mungo home. She was patient with our indecisiveness (we were always torn on leaving Hanover County) yet was always quick to answer questions, follow up and even show us the Arbor Ridge and Willow Oak models one more time:)
Frasia is incredibly smart, an excellent communicator and extremely organized. She does what she says she is going to do when she says she is going to do it. She educates her buyers and truly wants what is best for them.
My wife and I spent a lot of time walking through model homes with different builders and by far Frasia was top tier in representing her builder and making us feel at ease.
My hope is somebody from Mungo’s leadership team reads this and understands how fortunate they are. I have worked in sales for 30 years with one company and what truly separates a sales company is the people and how they represent their product.
Well done Mungo Homes, but more importantly well done Frasia and how you represent your company. I told you this throughout, but now want to tell the internet world.
Thank You! Steve and Stacy -
I love working with Mungo Homes and have had particularly great expierences with their New Home Advisor, Amna Al Mufti. She goes above and beyond for her customers, is always there to answer questions, is very knowledgeable about the building process. Cannot recommend her and Mungo Homes enough!

Where do I start? Fraisia and Zach were fantastic! They kept us up to date with the house as it progressed into a home. Their patience and kindness spoke volumes to us and made the whole process from finding a house/lot to finishing a home. I would highly recommend mungo homes.

We love our home! Matt our project manager really made sure we were happy and we love our floor plan.

We are a growing family of soon-to-be 4 and were hesitant to add moving to our plate, but needed more space. We decided to go for it and could not be happier with our decision not only to move, but more-so our decision to purchase with CraftMaster/Mungo Homes. From the beginning, our Sales Consultant, John Costanzo, knowing our hesitation, told us he would take care of us and wouldn’t steer us wrong. He exceeded those expectations and we couldn’t be happier that we put our trust in him. After our Inspection, our Inspector told us this home is one of the best quality builds he has seen in a long time, which is all owed to our Project Manager, Matt Valentic. Matt has been so easy to work with, efficient and accommodating. We’ve been in our home in Harpers Mill for about 60 days and wouldn’t change a thing! We are thrilled with our home, quality of customer service and construction of CraftMaster/Mungo! Thank you all so much for making us feel so important!

Amazing team to work with and great quality homes! You can't beat the craftsmanship, customer service, quick communication, and impeccable attention to detail that Mungo Homes offers! For sure the best builder in the Richmond area!

Sean and the team, at Mungo Homes, has been phenomenal. Their kind demeanor, attention to detail and promptness is unmatched. We were in the market for a new home and Sean did a wonderful job explaining all the inner works of the process. What gravitated us towards this company was their reputation of being a local builder with the backing of a major financial firm. We highly recommend Sean and the team at Mungo.

I had an outstanding experience working with Mungo. From the initial consultation to the final walk-through, their customer service was top-notch. The team was always responsive, accommodating, and genuinely cared about bringing my vision to life. Every step of the process was smooth, and I was kept informed every step of the way. The quality of the home is exceptional—attention to detail is evident in every corner, and the craftsmanship is truly impressive. I couldn't be happier with the final result! Highly recommend Mungo for anyone looking for a high-quality, stress-free home building experience.

We purchased our home as a spec home from Mungo back in March of 2024. I could write a book about all of the other issues we have had with Mungo, but the below is the one that finally made me write a review.
On day 1, our upstairs air conditioning was broken. It was broken intermittently for another 16 months. When someone at the company finally figured out how to fix it, they said it was installed improperly in the first place.
Now, 2 months after they “fixed” the air conditioning, we discovered that when they were doing that, they left our furnace exhaust disconnected in the attic. If we hadn’t gone into our attic to get decorations prior to turning our furnace on for the first time this fall, it could have caused us serious harm by dumping carbon monoxide into the home.
Then, when we reached out to Mungo to have this fixed, we received the attached response from Laurie Perrin, the warranty manager. Not even a “Sorry our contractor almost gave you carbon monoxide poisoning”, just a “here’s a phone number, deal with it yourself.” Completely unacceptable. She and JP at Mungo have been insufferable to deal with this entire time. -
We had a great experience with Mungo
Homes. Frasia Dunville, our New Home Advisor and Zach Farrow, our Project Manager were both excellent. They called us every week with weekly updates and progress in the construction of our new home. They were always responsive to our questions and concerns and resolved issues and concerns we had. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends -
Hate to do this but here we are. 3 years in and I couldn’t be less impressed with this company (formerly CraftMaster, probably why they don’t exist anymore). So we built in Rock Creek. We were sold the “luxury home in a luxury neighborhood” stuff. There’s nothing luxury about the quality of construction or the way the neighborhood is managed. Quality is probably on par with a Ryan Homes build if not worse. The developer of the neighborhood act like this is luxury but manages the neighborhood like it’s a low rent motel in a nowhere town. The work they do is worse than the government. At least the government usually gets it right after the second or third attempt. Low quality low budget and always excuses. We’re out of our warranty but doesn’t matter anyway because most of what I listed for repair on the warranty was never fixed because I was told a hole in the side of my house that rain water gets in and rots the structure is normal. We have all kinds of shoddy craftsmanship that’s even worse now that’s not just normal settling. This isn’t my first new construction home, but they tried acting like I didn’t know better. I would proceed with caution. They’ll probably get you and okay product long enough to carry you through the warranty but their work sucks and they won’t stand behind it for more than a year. Shame to pay $600K+ and they’ll maybe warranty it for a year, or tell you your falling apart house is just normal. But hey. They got their cash and ran to the bank so jokes on us I guess.

New build in September 2023. Since the beginning, the imperfections were very noticeable. The warranty process was unorganized. On par with Ryan Homes. Very disappointed with the finished product. Walls/doors don’t close and are bowed, wind seeps through from the outside due to uneven doors. Craftsmanship too bad for weatherstripping to work

Our experience with Craftmaster has been deplorable. We would not recommend them. First we didn't receive our keys at closing, then turns out the house was left unlocked anyways the whole week. We stopped by numerous times to point out issues with the build and even after the walkthrough things were still not fully resolved. The house was done sloppily. Not enough room given for the HVAC to go under house so it was placed in a closet.
There is missed paint, scratches and dents on many items, over spray every where, unlevel yard, bowed walls, lopsided towel racks, incorrect items installed, light switches placed extremely far, the list goes on. We even caught installers smoking in the house! Craftmaster repeatedly stated would resolve issues but it's now been six months with not much headway. We have had to call the vendors ourselves to get some issues addressed like missing window screens. And to have our HVAC repaired four times! This was the only builder we've worked with not to receive a welcome gift or note. A home purchase is supposed to be one of the most pleasurable experiences but not so with Craftmaster. Save yourself the headache and go with a more reputable builder who values customer service. -
Great communication, excellent work. Would recommend.

Really Appreciate the owner of this business. He is very good at what he does.

We had a leak in a copper pipe in a bathroom on the second floor that went through a wall in the living room and then into the finished part of our basement. The water was evident in the basement. Hadijah came into the house and quickly identified where the problem started and how to fix it. They were such skilled workmen. They were efficient, finishing this job in a timely manner. They were tidy, cleaning up every day before they left. The finished product was amazing. Top notch as well as very friendly folks. Their work surpassed our expectations! A+ work!

HE360 has completed several projects around my home, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. The owner and his team are consistently professional, detail-oriented, and communicative throughout every step of the process. As a fellow perfectionist, I deeply appreciate that he doesn’t consider a job done until it’s done right—and to the highest standard. His pricing is refreshingly fair, and what really sets him apart is his broad expertise across multiple trades. Unlike many contractors who need to bring in extra help, he has the skills to handle it all himself, which keeps things moving efficiently. If you’re looking for a reliable, skilled, and integrity-driven contractor, HE360 is the one to call.
