We are very pleased with the exterior painting and some carpentry work performed on our house and country shed. Widespread Solutions provided professional service at a fair price. We specified Benjamin Moore paint on all exterior surfaces and we are pleased with the results. All painting was completed as promised in one week.

Widespread solutions has done work at my 125 year old house several times and they’ve always done an excellent job. Their carpenters in particular are experienced and really know what they’re doing. Their painters are neat and efficient. They always send a project manager after the project is done to make sure you’re satisfied. Communication from the office is excellent. It’s hard to find contractors that understand the needs of historic buildings. They’re the only ones I trust with the exterior of my home!

I had a structural problem with my floor that would have normally prevented the installation of vinyl planks. Abraham came up with a solution and did a great job installing a beautiful floor for me.

Abram did a great job taking down a wall in our home. He was knowledgeable, explained all the steps, worked well with Henrico permitting office and explained any changes that were needed along the way. He even went an extra step to secure a ceiling made of concrete wall board that was sagging.

Abram and Sam were excellent to work with, timely, and considerate of our space and time. Abram was responsive to our texts, calls, and emails and ensured we were aware of the steps throughout the entire process. Abram and Sam did an amazing job on our kitchen tile. We can’t wait to use Cottage for future projects!

I contacted Cottage Construction for a bathroom repair and rescue prior to listing my house for sale. The quoted price was fair and itemized for the repair plan, with notes of potential extras. Indeed, there was only one amendment with a joist replacement that was noted as a possibility in the original quote, indicating a complete and accurate assessment of the problem.

I also discussed a partial kitchen renovation to save a troubled floor, match a dated but classic look and modernize it (that's an art), and provide more counter and storage space. I decided to proceed and the results are great, for both the bath and the kitchen.

I had a good impression of James and Abram from the start, and they did not disappoint. I recommend Cottage Construction and plan to call them first for any future needs.

Cottage Construction recently completed a sunroom addition to my home. They did a beautiful job. This is not the first project we have used them for. I have had two bathrooms renovated, my front porch rebuilt, my fireplace refaced with marble, and my kitchen completely renovated also, All excellent work. They have also done some siding repair. Highly recommend them.

From the estimate to the finished product, Cottage Construction really took pride in their work. We added a deck extension off our existing covered back porch. They answered, via text, questions we had about the build anytime of the day and weekend. They were able to add things in that we overlooked for the initial estimate and gave us ideas on what they could do to make it better. Our neighbors even over heard conversations with the crew and the project manager and commented on how dedicated they were to making sure the deck was perfect. We chose a step down from our existing porch, railing to match, lattice, rock underneath and a gate. The finished product with the smoothed edges on the railing really left us in awe. We will be choosing Cottage Construction for any future projects and making sure we spread the word about them to our neighbors and friends.

Cottage Construction did a fabulous job on a difficult deck replacement for my condo. They handled all the permits, coordination with the homeowner association, material selection, site prep, and construction. Even though we experienced delays due to an unusually rainy spring, I was always kept apprised of the progress and schedule for completion. I am more than pleased with the work, and would recommend them to other homeowners. I plan on using them again for additional renovations to my properties.
