Reviews of local pros in Norfolk, Virginia

Working with Nelson was a pleasure. He catered to my busy schedule and provided all the support I needed on my timeline. The roof and gutters look great and I feel as though I have a truly quality product.

Matrix Construction of Hampton Roads Inc. is a quality business that delivers what is promised in a professional and timely manner. When you call Nelson Pena, the owner, answers the phone and he is personally involved in every phase of the job. I could not have been more pleased with the beautifully completed project. And his prices are fair. It isn't often you get more than you pay for but with Nelson you do. You get a patient explanation of your roofing needs as well as what it will take to get it completed correctly. Nelson is a skilled craftsman not just a roofer. Try him, you won't be disappointed.

Nelson is one of the best vendor I could find around the area. He is very professional and does really quality work. Enjoyed working with him and would highly prefer him over anyone.

Thank you Matrix Construction and your team, who did a great job on fixing the roof on my house. Matrix Construction and their crew were professional, courteous and with an overall concern for my satisfaction that far exceeded my expectations. I appreciated the clean up that was done at the end of each day, their fair price and the final result.

The long continuous days of rain caused us to find a leak in our roof, so stressful. Nelson came out and not only was so very kind but also thorough and informative. He took his time to figure out exactly what the issue was and gave a game plan on how to fix it. I feel less overwhelmed about the roofing problem, knowing Nelson will take good care of us!

Nelson with Matrix Construction of Hampton Roads, Inc. did a well done job fixing my roof. I would recommend them to anyone looking for good work and good customer service.

I highly recommend matric construction.
Nelson completed a fantastic job on my roof. Since they didn't have somebody ready to repair my roof at the time, the home warranty found him. He took his time and executed an incredible job, leaving me incredibly happy with the caliber of the work.

I have used Matrix twice and both times have exceeded my expectations. They are easy to do business with, give fair pricing and complete the jobs quickly. I highly recommend.

Nelson Pena is a craftsman skilled at his trade as he takes a lot of pride in his work! He is a master builder of roofs. In ancient times he would have been amongst the great builders of the tabernacle and temple of Solomon!

Nelson is a true professional and an expert in his craft. I couldn’t have asked for a better result given the complexity of the job. My porch roof was leaking badly, and he guaranteed that it wouldn’t leak again. So far, so good. He even followed up months later. Highly recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (worth more than 5 stars!)

Matrix Construction of Hampton Roads, Inc. is absolutely outstanding! Nelson Peña is unlike any contractor I’ve ever worked with — honest, knowledgeable, and truly a man of integrity. His estimate was comparable to other contractors, but the difference in professionalism, competence, and thoroughness was night and day. Nelson took the time to educate me on every step of my roof repair and made the entire process stress-free. This level of care and transparency is rare and should be the standard for all contractors. I’m so impressed that I’m also hiring Matrix for a complete roof replacement on another property. Highly recommend!

Nelson Peña is dedicated to getting the job done no matter what. He and his amigo Lorenzo hand loaded around 100+ bags of concrete with no complaints. They just got straight to work and made it all happen. Nelson is super friendly, and he cares a lot about his customers. Both gentlemen have such a great work ethic, and Nelson really values good presentation when it comes to his work. They left a great impressIon on me and have gained my respect 100%.

Nelson has been roofing for decades. He was familiar with my slate roof, identified the cracks and holes, and repaired it for a reasonable price. No more leak! He's up front about prices. No surprises. His giving me a 3-year warranty on his work speaks to his integrity.

Nelson and crew did an amazing job and cleanup. Pricing was far more competitive than order quotes we received. Definitely use them again.

Nelson was incredible. He and his crew didn’t waste any time— they got straight to the root of the problem. My leaky roof was completely fixed in just four days! They did an excellent job installing the low-e and ridge vent, all for an unbeatable price. Truly impressive work!

I hired Nelson with Matrix Construction of Hampton Roads, Inc. to replace my old roof. I am glad I chose him out of all the other roofers. He did an amazing job just like he promised. Thank you for the outstanding job, Nelson.

Mr. Nelson with Matrix Construction assisted us in checking our roof to see if there were any leaks or problem areas. He notices a few areas that needed attention soon to prevent future problems. We decided to have him complete the repairs and we were very pleased with the outcome. He even trimmed one of the bushes in the front yard and trimmed back a tree that was close to the front of the roof. He showed professionalism and scheduled the repairs quickly and cleaned up after the repairs were completed. Thank you – Nelson!

Nelson at Matrix is the true benefit of working with this company. He is a human, something missing from many of the contractors you may interact with. When my father was sick and I overnight took over responsibility for repairs, I had no idea what to do with a broken roof. Nelson understood my situation, repaired the roof within a day, charged me a fair price, and still checks in to make sure things are going well. A good business, a better man.

Nelson was AMAZING! I hit him up and he was out the next day with GREAT prices and service/results! I had been shopping around for a little while and getting companies asking for ridiculous prices until I came across Nelson’s sign posted in my neighborhood’s yard.

Based off of the end result you wouldn’t know that his specialty is roofing the way my gutter and siding came out! AMAZING JOB!

We hired Nelson to replace our old, leaking tar and gravel roof with a new membrane roof. I would highly recommend him to anyone having issues with their roof. Nelson was fantastic to work with - he was prompt in his responses and gave us updates about the project as he worked. He did an amazing job for us and clearly takes an incredible amount of pride in the excellent work he does (deservedly so).
