From start to finish, the entire process and work completed went exceedingly well. Sam provided one of the most detailed estimates I have ever received for tree work. I truly appreciate that.

My tree team included Chuck, Matt, and Richard. They were hands down the some of the best people I have had at my house in 25 years to do tree work. They were tasked with removing various trees near my 6 ft fence and tiered garden as well as very large sections of a tree from a neighbor. The neighbor had a tree crash through his fence into a ravine. His solution was to have a random door to door guy cut the tree into large sections and leave it in the ravine. During a June 2025 storm that brought a deluge of rain, the neighbors entire mess ended up in our yard at our expense. The pieces of the tree were water logged and HEAVY. A special thanks to my tree team for lugging it up and out of the ravine.

The work was completed when Carlos arrived to grind the stumps, including a stump that I paid a previous tree company to grind in 2025 that did an awful job. Carlos went above and beyond and took great care not to damage anything in the yard. All in all, everyone was outstanding.

FYI, when I was new to Virginia, I hired C.S. Flournoy (Danny Golden 2001) to help completely redo my yard. First a “few” trees had to go, dump trucks of dirt were brought in and the entire front regraded. The next year, they did the same with the back. I was able to start from scratch and create my own little oasis. Over the decades, we did use other companies, probably 8 in all. Some were a one and done. Most were inconsistent.

Twenty-five years later, C.S. Flournoy is the one company that stands out as being consistent with solid work ethics.

Side note to Chuck, Matt, Richard; talking “garden” with you was an absolute pleasure. Hope the hummingbirds arrived at your house and the pesky rodents don’t get your tomatoes and strawberries.

We had some as my dad would say, "Jacked Legged" Tree cutters that came to cut some trees downs took half of the money and quit. We had three more looming trees our my property that made heavy rains and storms a very scary thing. These guys showed up and went right to work. No fuss, no bulls**t, just cutting and chipping. My neighbor across the street saw their work and ask them to cut down a single tree in her yard. "Let me contact my office and I'm sure it won't be a problem." and like that her tree was down. These guys are the truth. Very reasonable yet better than competitive prices. Hire these guys...

This company has been around for a very long time. I have never needed tree service but..... Someone on Nextdoor needed to get a cat out of a tree. So I called Flournoy and they said that they do provide that service. Well, they sent an estimator to check out the situation to ensure they could get to the cat. Sure enough, they retrieved the cat and everyone was very happy. Especially the cats brother!! lol

I have used this company at my 4 residences over the past 15 years. They are a top notch company. They have all the right equipment, and top notch people. Workers are courteous and always do the job without incident. They come when scheduled, and complete the job quickly and completely. You may find a cheaper estimate, but never a better company. Call them if you want the job done right! I highly recommend them.

AWESOME SERVICE! I got several quotes and found them very competitive but what convinced me was watching them on a neighbors yard working with care and friendly professionalism. They responded quickly to all my requests and needs. All the workers were professional and very friendly and I will have them back in a split second should i need them .

I took a chance on a ValuPak coupon and requested a quote to remove a large stump in my front yard. The stump was ground deep, including all exposed roots. Given the quality of service, I had an even larger stump removed in the back of my property. Again, great quality service and a great price. I highly recommend C.S. Flounoy.
