Constraction reviews in Suffolk, Virginia

Hampton Roads Contracting was a pleasure to work with! They were extremely professional, showed up when scheduled, communicated well and went above and beyond to be helpful. The kitchen cabinet installation was awesome and they helped out by doing a few extras! They also clean up behind themselves. I would recommend them to anyone!!

The repair and installation of our laundry room floor was flawless. We were extremely impressed with the meticulous work done by Wayne, Matt and John. It was a long day but the crew made it fun with the lighthearted conversations. It was a struggle to find a contractor to even do work in our area, Wayne made sure from my first phone call that he would take care of us. I highly recommend HRCS for whatever project you need.

We had Matt & John install our cabinets and crown molding for our new kitchen. As new home owners, we are new to the whole renovation process and I have to say that we were absolutely blown away by the professionalism and attention to detail that these guys have. They not only do amazing work, they're communication is impeccable. There was not one moment where we were not involved, asked opinions or felt that they were rushed in any sense. Wayne even stopped by to check in and we raved about how happy we were that they were on the job. We have many more projects coming up in the future and have already started planning on having them come out to do more work. I work in multi-family property management and have to work with vendors on a daily basis. If everyone had the same integrity and work ethic as these guys, life would be much easier and more enjoyable. They took the renovation process stress away.

I thought I was going to write a great review about this company based on everyone’s experiences I read about before we asked for estimates. The appointment went well around 5/13/24. They were taking pictures and measuring everything. I sent inspiration photos. I was told they couldn’t start any jobs until the end of July. No problem. We just needed estimates to figure out the cost of what they could do. It’s 6/23. Never heard from them again. What I don’t like is my time wasted. I rather you not come or simply tell me upfront you aren’t able to do anything. Reliability and great contractors have become a thing of the past lately.

Hampton Roads Contracting Services installed our new custom made kitchen cabinets. Their team members did a fantastic job! They were very professional, knowledgeable, and fun to work with. We would highly recommend them and we have some future work planned already.

Wayne and his team were professional, talked with me about the entire process, were timely, and never left a mess. I had them remove a bathtub and tile walls from a 1939 bathroom, building back the floor, installing a new tub/shower combo, new drywall and finishing the drywall. I couldn’t be happier with the results. After meeting with multiple companies, my husband and I just knew we liked Wayne, and the price was extremely fair. He himself went above and beyond, he worked on the weekend to go pick up the tub, the guys worked late to finish my job one afternoon, only after asking if it was alright with me, of course. They worked with my plumber seamlessly to get the bathtub installed. I can’t stress enough that they didn’t make a mess in my house. If you’ve had work done inside of your home, you know that’s important. I will definitely use them for any future needs.

Wayne & his team really impressed us. Good communication, punctual, considerate & professional. Every aspect of working with his team has been a good experience. They helped us through a wall removal & kitchen renovation. They helped us with recommendations and suggestions. The finished project is all we hoped it would be. We definitely recommend HRCS and will personally use them on additional projects.

Hampton Roads Contracting Services does incredible work. Wayne and Matt went above and beyond to repair the problems I'd been dealing with for years and complete my install. They kept me in the loop and clearly explained everything that needed to be done.

Working with them was a great experience and I will definitely recommend them to everyone that needs any work done!

October 2025 Update: I needed an emergency repair for another problem that came up after a storm this year. Matt and Wayne were quick to respond and got the problem fixed before it could cause any serious damage or stress. I also needed a new install done that required precise measurements and attention to detail. Matt came out and took the time to get everything set up perfectly. I continue to be very grateful for their help and professionalism.

What a great group to work with. HRCS installed new cabinets and trim work in three rooms. They were very meticulous and professional. They treated our home with the utmost respect. They did an outstanding job and we were very pleased. We have been through many contractors this year in our home renovations, and this is one we will call back. Thank-you Wayne, Matt and Chris.

Where do I start??? Wayne come in took some measurements asked a few questions and boom!! Two guys came in and a little bracket here a little anchor here and Ihad my closet!!!! Professional and yet felt like a family oriented. Thank you!!!!

Our experience with Wayne, Matt and Chris of Hampton Roads Contracting Services was outstanding. They went over and above our expectations in neatly removing our Old dated kitchen cabinets, installing new ones, Hooking up our new sink faucet, rebuilding the plumbing, putting in a disposal reattaching our dishwasher and doing an excellent job on all the trim work around our kitchen. It totally transformed our kitchen!
Because we liked their work so much we decided to add in matching cabinets above our washer and dryer and so we had the ability to work with Wayne again so our whole kitchen and laundry room is now matching and we are very pleased with the quality of his work not to mention Chris and Matt. I highly recommend them for any sort of home renovation work!

If you are in the market for repairs or need a General Contractor look no further. I have never been so shocked at how amazing results I’ve gotten from services before. They did such a great job my own landlord at the time wanted to ditch her GC and hire them. Top qualities are professionalism, punctuality, communication and dedication to the job. I can’t say enough about them but I’ll end this with 10 out of 10 definitely recommend!

Hampton Roads Contracting Services provided exceptional workmanship installing our blinds. They were punctual, courteous, and demonstrated great attention to detail without rushing the job. The installation was completed neatly and they left the workspace spotless. We highly recommend their services!

Wayne and his crew were hands down the best experience I had with getting work done on the house. I got my tub ripped, plumbing moved to the other end, and the drywall fixed. They were timely and professional. Wayne made sure things were done in a timely manner and communicated with me and my wife regularly to to make sure I was in the loop and even after to make sure things were still going well after the project. Highly recommend!!

Wayne and Matt from Hampton Roads Contracting Services were amazing to work with! They recently helped us upgrade our bathroom, and the experience was exceptional.

Wayne communicated with us daily, keeping us informed about each step in the process. No matter the time of day—or night—he was always willing to answer any questions we had. He went above and beyond to help bring my vision to life, including customizing elements to fit our needs.

When we ran into an issue receiving our shower door (through no fault of Wayne’s—Lowes failed us), he was patient, understanding, and even suggested alternative companies to purchase the door. He then installed it the very next day it arrived.

I would absolutely recommend Wayne and his crew for any future projects!

I cannot speak highly enough of the kitchen renovation services provided by Hampton Roads Contracting Services—they are wonderful in all that they do! I appreciate their professionalism, dedication to task, honesty, and warmth. We could not be happier with the results in our kitchen and we look forward to having Wayne, Chris, et al return to refinish our wood floors.

Wayne and his crew (Matt and Chris) Installed Kitchen Cabinets, Island cabinets, Cupboard Cabinets, Master and Guest Bathroom Cabinets. Their professionalism and attention to detail was wonderful. In a time when just getting work done is almost impossible, it was a pleasure to have workers more interested in getting the job done right than rushing to get it done. Attention to detail was excellent and the teamwork was impressive. We highly recommend HRCS.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Wayne Cochran and his staff for their exceptional expertise in managing my new home kitchen and bathroom project. Despite the unforeseen challenges posed by the tragic loss of both my contractor and partner this year, which necessitated considerable patience, Wayne demonstrated unwavering commitment and seamlessly guided me through the process. His sage advice, unyielding support, patience, encouragement, and empathy were invaluable. The outcome has exceeded my expectations, with a stunning kitchen and perfectly selected countertops, as well as beautiful bathrooms. Wayne was always available to answer questions. He was ALWAYS present and overseeing the job. We stayed on budget and completed the job on time. I uploaded a few pictures. Pardon, the home is not completed yet. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved for their outstanding assistance.

Matt and his crew just completed installing our new kitchen cabinets today. I greatly appreciate their attention to detail all the way through the project and their high quality work. They took the time to do “the little things” that make the difference between a job done and a job done right. Highly recommend
