Maple Man did an awesome job pruning two of our Japanese maples today in Anacortes. The Arakawa was much too big and bushy, blocking our view leaving the driveway so we were blind to cross traffic. He really opened it up to expose the beautiful rough and corky bark and now we can see oncoming cars to avoid.

He was so easy to work with and educated us on how to do future maintenance ourselves if we wanted. We would definitely use him again and recommend him to anyone. Thank you Maple Man (Shyam)!

I first learned about Maple Man's Japanese Maple Pruning from the owner of a house in my neighborhood that is beautifully landscaped, with a stunning specimen Japanese Maple as one of the features. My yard includes a much smaller Japanese maple, and I wanted to have an expert's help in getting my tree to look like that as it grows and matures. Specifically, I wanted to learn some of the guiding principles from him, as well as his help in the pruning itself.
I hired him for a half-day, and I was very pleased with his work. And I learned a lot from him in the process, about other trees and shrubs in my yard.
I have an 18-20 foot tall threadleaf cypress that badly needed thinning in its upper story, which he performed by climbing to its upper branches. That tree is now airy and attractive.
He is a font of knowledge and easy to work with. I recommend him highly, and will be using him again in the future.

Shyam, the Maple Man, was great to work with! He came over for a consultation and answered all of our questions. He also offered suggestions for adding more trees and where different varieties would do well. We scheduled a half day of pruning at the end of the consultation. He was easy to get in touch with & quick to respond.
On the pruning day, Shyam was very good at listening to me & my partner’s different ideas and helping us understand what was best for each tree. He also shared his knowledge & experience to help us understand what he was recommending. Shyam teaches his clients about pruning on their own if they want to give it a try. He absolutely knows his stuff!

Professional and personable is how I’d describe our experience with Shyam as he resurrected our Japanese Maples after years of neglect. He was prompt with communication and arrived on time ready to breathe new life into our trees, using much skill and thought with each clip.
It was refreshing to have a professional arborist who’s willing to share their knowledge and educate us how to work with the trees not against them. Doing so created a balance of what the trees natural growth pattern is and the expectations we had. We couldn’t be happier with the Maple Man and will seek him out in the future.

Our Japanese maple now looks incredible! Maple Man Shayne trimmed away the excess to reveal the beauty of our tree! We smile each time we walk by! Shayne was skilled, efficient, kind and friendly with a reasonable price for his expertise and experience! We will definitely hire him again!

We have a large cherry (Mt Fuji) and Japanese maple (Bloodgood) which had become overgrown – though we didn’t realize how much until we took some pictures! The cherry is our absolute favorite tree, and we were loathe to trust it (or the maple – which is directly in front of our porch) to anyone, but after a lot of internet searching, we found Maple Man. Shyam exceeded our expectations on both trees, performing structural and artistic pruning which created balance and just makes them a pleasure to behold. We’ll be adding our street strip Pacific Sunset maples to the list next year!

I have long appreciated maples. Last year, while visiting with friends, I noticed a maple plant in there yard that looked stunning. I asked who had tended it and was told about Shyam. I contacted him about both a large maple tree as well as three maple shrubs that needed attention in our yard. After a discussion about what we were looking to accomplish, Shyam came over and gave them a much needed pruning. He listens to his client and executes the plan with care. His attention to detail is excellent. You can trust Shyam to care for your plants with artistry. Highly recommended!

I found Shyam’s business card at our local spot, Sunnyside Nursery. After a few texts Shyman, he shared his YouTube link which has a great catalog of both pics and video of the many jobs he’s done over the years, great encyclopedia of his work!
That was all the referral I needed, he later came by to view our job and give us a bid. We made a plan to have him come back in a few weeks.
Shyam was prepared, on time and was very detailed in his work and pruned our beloved maples, dogwoods and some evergreens. Our landscape is about 3 years old, and we wanted a pro to get them started off in the right direction. We planned on a 1/2 day, and in about 4 hours he completed our job, about 10 trees in all. He was on time, on budget, hauled all the limbs away and explained his process along the way.

In my experience, these guys are simply the best. Overqualified and conscientious.
They do things safely because they have the know how and the tools, but mostly because of their experienced crew. Steve is a real strait shooter, and affable.

Edited: we were happy with the first service... so I had left a message recently to get some additional branches trimmed. After 3 days of not returning my call, I called back. He said they are busy. I asked for a referral then... he ignored that question and said he can try to squeeze me in. After several weeks, I still had never heard back.

We had a large tree removed that was damaged in a wind storm. They came out and did an excellent job. Above and beyond what we expected. I highly recommend contacting them.

Our experience with American Tree Care has been amazing in every way! They were incredibly hard working, did the best job imaginable, are great communicators and 100% experts at tree care. We would highly recommend their services for any tree care you may need!

My whole experience from getting a quote, to having the work done was so smooth and easy! My yard looked better and cleaner than when they started. I would highly recommend, in fact my neighbors actually had them do a quote while they were there.

My whole neighborhood books in with owner Ammon; often coordinating our tasks so he sees several of us one right after the other. Many of us have had him in over a series of years. His expertise with all things trees and his highly efficient team is an experience not to be missed. I am a plants person and this is the most excellent tree care I've seen in a long time!

The owner of this company is extremely rude and aggressive. While working in the tree, he was openly disrespectful to his employees, speaking to them in a condescending and unprofessional manner. His behavior was completely unacceptable, and he should seriously reconsider how he treats his team.

I contacted 2 highly-reviewed and rated companies, American Tree Care being one of them. Ammon, the owner is knowledgeable, personable, and truly cares that you walk away having had a good experience. Price wise, they were a tad bit lower than the other well-rated company (Both were fair and reasonable in my opinion). He was able to work with me on schedule and made sure that the surrounding trees were protected while his crew was working. Hard working crew who were knowledgeable, and didn't waste any time getting to work. Excellent experience and highly recommend. I will definitely be calling Ammon at American Tree Care first

If you need tree services. Ammon and his team were outstanding. Professional, safe and amazing clean up. Would hire again without hesitation.

We used American Tree Care a number of times to remove and prune trees on our property. They did a great job in the past, but recently they have become really expensive. I received a quote from Ammon to remove a large Maple tree for $3,500. Another two companies quoted $2,100 and $1,500. I went with the $1,500 company and they did a solid job. Be very careful and make sure to compare estimates to ensure you are not being ripped off. We won't be using American Tree Care anymore, as we don't trust their honesty in the bidding process (unfortunately).

They are amazing!!! Yes, they are expensive. But! They are so professional and productive. They clean up after finishing the job. We cannot be more thankful for what they had done around our place!

Bryan and his crew showed up on time and ready to go to cut down and cleanup a very large beautiful birch tree that we loved but was unfortunately infested with bronze birch borers and had already started dying in the center and going up and so might have made it through another windy winter but chances were slim. They did a fantastic job of knocking that tree down and cutting it up without doing any damage to any of our surrounding small trees and plants or fence. They did a great job on cleanup of all the leaves small branches chips etc. and left our yard looking just great. The price was the best bid of three that I got and he even took out an extra small tree that was against our fence and cleaned up some old rotten rounds of wood that we had for a very small additional fee. I highly recommend Elite tree service for anyone who needs that type of work done.

Bryan and his crew did a great job from start to finish. Bryan knows his stuff and as a Certified Arborist, we felt confident in his initial plan to prune and remove heavy growth from five large trees. On the scheduled day, Bryan and his crew of three were prompt and went right to work. Two climbers and an apprentice who did the majority of branch removal were very efficient and worked hard to match Bryan's vision. And it was fascinating to watch from inside the house!

The end result was the best work we have ever had done on our trees. Our past tree care specialists just didn't have the same view of the things that needed changing. We put our trust with Elite and are now a regular customer. Thanks for the great work!
