All right, so I wanted to give these guys a chance before I give a review. Three years ago they did the HVAC in my brand new house. The following summer, the heat pump went out. Their technician came out, figured out the problem and said it was gonna be $800 out of my pocket. Parts were under warranty but not labor. 12 months after installing A brand new HVAC system.. OK, I paid for that. Following summer heat pump is out again. I called them. They said they were going to return my call and never did. This is the type of service you get with these guys..Update- I got a call a few days later about this review. Not to see if my heat pump was working. I told them what happened, how it broke down twice in 3 years, then no one called me back. Americool apologized and asked how they could make it right. We agreed upon a duct cleaning for a change in review. So they now have 3 ⭐️

Back in 2017, Americool came out and uninstalled my old furnace (which was on its last leg) and installed my new furnace and heat pump. I have to say that in every aspect of the process, I have been thoroughly impressed (not just by their professionalism and knowledge) but their genuine care they have for the needs of their customers! Their sales representative came out to our house personally and took as much time as was needed to explain what equipment it would take to properly heat and cool our home. After settling on the right equipment, they set up a time to come and install the new furnace and heat pump. Their team was very professional and conscientious of the work they were performing in our home, and even though, initially after the installation, there was an issue, Americool came out and quickly corrected it to our complete satisfaction! They have also been out to service our equipment in the years since, and they still have that same dedication to customer service! Their service personnel are very knowledgeable and willing to help with any questions or concerns that we may have, and they are not overly priced (having spoken to friends about other companies and what they charge for services). Back in January, our heat pump suddenly stopped working, so, of course, we called Americool to come and troubleshoot our system to find out why. A service technician was sent out and quickly found that we had a coolant leak at our heat pump. After making the repair, we were pleasantly surprised that our 10-year warranty was honored. Unfortunately, within about a month's time, the heat pump was down again, so we called Americool to come out to troubleshoot. It was found that the part that was replaced went bad (no one's fault) and ultimately, Americool decided not to bill us for the second repair, even though I was fully willing to at least pay for the coolant, which is the most expensive line item on the bill! I would definitely recommend Americool for all of your heating and cooling needs! They also service equipment installed by other companies, and in my opinion, at much better rates! Our heat pump has dramatically improved the quality of life in our home, especially in the hot summer months!

Chance, Eric and Tristan installed a new HVAC system in our house and did an excellent job. They were all 3 very professional, neat, quiet, respectful and knowledgeable. The crew arrive early and got right to work. Chance listened to my questions and concerns and honored them with thorough explanations. Chance went over the workings of the thermostat in detail with me and asked if I had any additional questions. He explained the few modifications they made between the old system and the new one. I am more than pleased with their installation. Now, we are hopeful to continue to have them keep the system operating efficiently for years.

The initial meeting with the salesman was very professional and we felt he listened to our needs. From start to finish the installation was completed professionally and on time. We love our new heat pump and air handler. Highly recommend this company, AAA+ service

Americool just installed a new heat pump and furnace at our home! What nice workers! They were very professional, friendly, respectful, and careful with my home. Great warranty on this all American made, parts will be affordably/easy to get down the road. The bid was very competitive too, great price! We highly recommend them!

Brayden was awesome! Did the job in a timely manner, fixed our gas fireplace perfectly and he was very friendly and pleasant. He took the time to explain everything and did a great clean up job after his work was done. The cost was reasonable and I wouldn't hesitate to refer anyone who needs their services.

Americool did the rough-in on our new build in November 2022 and final install of the outdoor unit in July 2023. Our building plans called for an 11HSPF unit exhausting upwards approximately 10’ from our front door and called on the HVAC contractor to verify the install location. One month before Americool was hired, in October 2022, we installed front landscaping to include a fir tree, cranberries, and winter jasmine – all cold hardy down to negative 40F. Unbeknown to us beforehand, in July 2023 Americool installed a side-exhausting unit blowing directly onto our front cement porch and paver walkway. Construction was still ongoing in the first winter, 2023-4, but the unit was used to heat the home to 50F to avoid burst pipes. The exhaust from the outdoor unit caused the front porch and walkway to coat over in ice even though air temps were well above freezing – the continuous sub-freezing exhaust from the unit formed a significant ice layer. The constant exhaust also desiccated our plants.

Per the Mitsubishi installation manual, a fence could be built up to 20” in front, 4” to the left, and 14” to the right of the unit. We called Mitsubishi to confirm those dimensions, they did, and we built a fence 30” in front of the unit, at a diagonal to redirect the exhaust away from the front porch. The fence was only 4’ high so the redirected exhaust could swirl around the side of the house and then exit above the fence without icing over the porch. That worked. We moved into the home the following spring. The next winter, while heating the home to 68F, the exhaust caused a layer of ice to build up on the siding 10’ tall, and the freezing condensate dripping around the unit built up a layer of ice which eventually tipped the unit. Americool stated it was out of warranty and would not fix the issue without charging for it. We worked with a competitor of theirs to devise a fix which we implemented ourselves – installing a wind baffle on the unit, gapping the fence slats for better air flow, installing a pan underneath the unit to catch the condensate, piping the drainage from that pan underground to connect with our storm drain system, then installing an outlet and heating rod to keep the condensate liquid long enough to drain away – all on a new build. The competitor pointed out that the Mitsubishi installation manual clearly states not to direct the exhaust at plants or people and to be mindful during placement so as not to create an icing hazard on nearby walkways.

Americool should have identified and disclosed that the placement of the outdoor unit would not work in the location called for in the plans DURING THE ROUGH IN PHASE so the outdoor unit could be placed in a nearby alternative location – many were available at approximately the same distance from the indoor unit. We believe Americool either only opted for a side-exhaust unit at the time of the July installation or failed to recognize the consequences of that placement until install – and then just didn’t care and proceeded anyway. In a BBB review, Americool blamed us as the homeowners for the placement and criticized our decision to landscape the front of the home (how audacious of us!).

They distorted the timeline of events and even claimed we had planted fragile plants – all of which was meant to distract from their main failure: failure to recognize what any HVAC installer should have noticed immediately. That exhausting the side unit onto a concrete porch would inevitably lead to icing issues. Afterall, it’s right in the installation manual, which we doubt they read.

We strongly urge people to reconsider hiring this contractor, not only due to their making such an obvious error but also due to their refusal to accept responsibility for it.

Called and got scheduled for a repair on our gas fireplace. Setting up the appointment was easy even in this busy time of the year. Brayden showed up with in the time we scheduled. He was very knowledgeable and went right to work with the repairs. He was very pleasant to talk with and explained everything he was doing. Needless to say I am very pleased with the repairs that were performed and would highly recommend Americool for your heating and cooling needs. Thanks again to Brayden for getting our old gas fireplace working.

Want to tell you your entire staff are great from Chris who gave us information and choices on the quote to install heat pump. To the installers Ted And Nate who were very professional and extremely nice very high standards on detail and explaining information about product very nice people to work with very satisfied customers

Like so many others, we were thrilled to have finally gotten a mini-split! The install team was incredible. Unfortunately, we must have gotten a Lemon! Its been 7 months since installation at over $8,000. After a power outage, the motherboard had to be replaced leaving us without for 2 weeks.

The equipment now makes a horrible pressure release noise and scraping sound and startles us and our cats every time it comes on! I called for service 10 days ago and was told they would get back to me. Never happened. So today I called back. Didn't seem like much of a surprise to the office gal when I said it had been 10 days! Am I crazy that I would expect a call back for service sooner than 10 days?

Ameri Cool was highly recommended by a work friend. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company. Our experience has not been good since installation. And now I question if we shouldn't have it removed and get our money back? Just a HUGE disappointment! 😞
