Constraction reviews in Kirkland, Washington

I've had Cornerstone do a lot of work for us. They've always done a great job. I am in the industry and they do quality work at a good price.

A major remodel/addition just a few years ago. They never returned to finish painting some trim after repeated requests. Poor craftsmanship on floor tile. And constant electrical problems in the new addition. Hire someone else.

Cornerstone saved my roofing disaster for me after dealing with a not so ethical person who had torn my roof off before having the materials to replace it, causing internal water damage to my house. Todd was my project manager and was amazing to work with. Incredibly communicative, responsive to questions and issues. They finished adding an open dormer to the front of my house, fixed all the internal issues (including asbestos abatement), and installed a beautiful metal roof. I could not be happier at how it turned out. Already getting a quote from them for a smaller project and plan to reach out with future work planned for my house.

We had a downright insulting experience with Cornerstone's estimation process a couple years back.

We were looking for a remodel of our kitchen and bathroom. They came back with a quote that was fairly high, so we decided not to get it all done. When we met to discuss we had a couple of relatives staying at our house, so when Eric arrived he started by insinuating that we had blown our budget on a couple of new cars.

We asked about doing just the bathroom and they updated the bid, but the update was about 70% of the total cost for about 40% of the work. When we pointed this out, asking how the kitchen could be so cheap with the bathroom being so expensive, Eric got quite irritated. He offered to come over to our house and "educate us on the consequences of our indecision."

Honestly, we're glad that they showed their true colors and that we were able to bail early. If they treated us like that during the estimation process, I can't imagine how condescending they would have been during actual construction.

Joe and his crew at Cornerstone Construction are amazing. We've worked with them for every home project we've completed over the last nine years. Their work in remodeling our kitchen, bathroom, pool area, exterior are all exceptional. Whether a planned project or the result of a flood, Joe's expertise and attention have made each project run seamlessly with amazing results. Joe is responsive, honest, and knowledgeable. Over the years, he's become more than our contractor. I highly recommend Cornerstone Construction.

Joe and his team were hired to do an extensive remodel on my house (kitchen, 2.5 baths, laundry room, entry, flooring, and removal of some walls to open up the main floor). The entire process took about 4 months, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Everyone was professional, courteous, and did their best to make sure that everything went to plan. Any issues that arose were handled promptly and with the attitude of wanting things resolved well. The process was seamless and we knew that anytime we had questions or concerns, we could call Joe and he would be happy to make sure we were taken care of. I would not hesitate to hire them again and have recommended them to friends.

Cornerstone did a beautiful full remodel of my master bathroom. Joe and his crew took care of me like I was family. Joe and Project Manager Todd are knowledgeable and trustworthy. They have years of experience and it shows in their work.

Lead Carpenter Dan's attention to detail is exceptional. I fully recognized this after I saw my neighbor's bathroom, remodeled by a different contractor. The craftmanship was noticeably inferior to the crisp, professional look of my bathroom, done by Dan and the Cornerstone tilers, painters, plumbers and electricians.

There are indeed surprises along the remodeling road. As they came up, Todd was responsive, resourceful, and always found a solution. I highly recommend Cornerstone Construction.

We have worked with Cornerstone for three projects over the years. Full bathroom (3) remodel, kitchen and then a smaller project for all the interior doors and trim throughout the house.

All three times, I have been wowed by the outcome.

One of the most important aspects of having work completed in my home is trust. Pets and children are coming/going throughout the projects and I needed them to be safe during the construction period. I could trust the space was safe (cleaned up daily so no random nail was waiting for a paw or a foot to step on) and I was comfortable having Cornerstone staff in my home with the family.

If I had a question or a concern, I had no problem with communicating and reaching a solution. When remodeling, there are always surprises. Cornerstone was upfront with each discovery and we navigated a solution that worked for each one both structurally and financially. I highly recommend Cornerstone.

We've used Cornerstone for multiple projects over a 10-year period. They have been responsive, reliable and executed excellent work every time. A recent project involved rewiring our laundry room to accommodate an electric dryer. This involved opening up walls in key locations, electrical rerouting and restoring the interior finishes, all of which were done beautifully, on time and on budget. Moreover, Eric and the team at Cornerstone have become our go-to people for honest, reliable advice and for help with emergencies such as leaking skylights and ruptured plumbing. We also appreciate how friendly and considerate every person they've brought in has been. I recommend them without hesitation.

Our place looks like a home in Architectural Digest! CHC is a super dependable, family owned and operated construction company. We had a slow leak in our walls and we needed a full home remodel — we needed new flooring, drywall, painting, framing, cabinetry, windows, plumbing, and electric. CHC’s team of professionals and suppliers quickly made us feel like we were in good hands. CHC was comfortable working within our HOA’s/condos budget to reconstruct our entire kitchen to code and put in new ventilation. Additionally, they helped with landscaping and ceiling soundproofing. We were so pleased with their work that we were comfortable referring them to many friends and neighbors. We will definitely be calling them when we are ready to remodel our bathrooms!

Amazing work done. Full transparency with schedule and price. Great ideas during the planning process. We had our Garage converted to a bedroom / bathroom. Nothing but good things to say about the entire experience. Would go nowhere else in the future for any work.

I worked with CHC remodel to do a full remodel of a newly purchased fixer upper. Specifically, we worked on remodeling the kitchen, bathroom, flooring, and fixing all the damaged drywalls. In addition, CHC converted the unfinished basement into a finished living space which can be rented separately. This idea was suggested by Siamak from CHC and will provide us with additional rental income. The work was done very quickly, they stayed within the proposed time and budget which is very hard to come by these days. I appreciate all the team's hard work and couldn't be happier. Will definitely use CHC remodel for our next project.

We were introduced to Siamak, the proprietor of Contemporary Home Construction when we bought our home which was a real fixer-upper. We have since had big and small projects done by Siamak and his team, including the addition of a bedroom, bathroom remodeling, retaining wall construction and home exterior remodeling. I am happy to say that we have had nothing but positive experiences throughout the process. Siamak and his crew are all thoroughly professional, courteous and very accessible. They approach any project as though it were their own and give it the level of personal care and attention that a home owner might. This means that they never compromise on quality of material or labor, and take great care that there are no loose ends (e.g. they will immediately call attention to say, a leaky pipe they may discover during the course of a remodel and immediately figure out the best options to take care of the problem). And just like a home owner, they weigh costs and benefits and are honest about them, thus balancing looks and design with cost-effectiveness and practicality. Siamak, in particular brings both his own vast experience in the business and a thoughtfulness to each project that I have rarely seen in any industry, let alone construction. My husband and I often talk about how lucky we are to have found Contemporary Home Construction, and we have referred them to many of our friends, several of whom have had similar remodeling projects done by the company to great satisfaction. We are happy to be loyal customers of Contemporary Home Construction and would strongly recommend them to anyone

We bought a home in Redmond which needed a lot of renovation work like removing the popcorn ceiling, existing flooring removal and new floor installation, adding a brand new kitchen including cabinet installation, wall removal to make it a great room, bathroom remodeling, entry door installation and whole house exterior and interior painting. Siam worked with us through out the project giving ideas and suggestions. Also allowing us to choose our products and help us cutting the cost being a very big project. He gave price list for every single work. We compared the cost with a couple of others but Siam seemed to be reasonable. Also others came up for a minimum 5month timeline but Siam was able to complete within 2.5 months though he had a couple of other active projects. Excellent commitment and work.

Siamak from CHC remodel has done remodel of our rambler, he has provided best estimates and ideas which increased the value of home and our living experience. It involved removing couple of fireplaces, flooring, adding a beam, wall and moving countertop. He has great expertise at estimating, planning and executing the plan.

Recently we had water leakage in bathroom and Siamak team did a great job identifying the leak and fix it in timely & with quality.
And had another project to replace Post in garage and team did a great job there too. Looking forward to have this team for more re-modeling work in future!

Couldn’t be happier with how our remodel turned out! The team was super friendly, always showed up on time, and kept us in the loop. Highly recommend if you’re thinking about doing any kind of renovation!

Siamak is a reasonably priced contractor and he claims to have a MS in civil engineering. In my opinion, he knows what’s good for your house structurally and also knows what adds value for your house in long term. I had hired him twice (2020 and 2022) and he did a good job at my house both the times. I’d definitely hire him for future projects.
In terms of expectations, his initial quote is just the money you pay him and it has been fairly accurate. You should expect additional expenses for buying materials like sliding door, vanity, toilets, showers, etc.
If I have to nitpick, the only thing I didn’t like was the timing. Our projects went a week beyond the scheduled completion time and hence my 4 stars.

CHC completed a 3 month renovation of my home at the beginning of 2022. I found them to be very reasonably priced, and very easy to work with. So far, I don't have any complaints about the quality of their work.

Some things that stood out for me:
1. The communication is very prompt. I was able to get a response either immediately or within an hour or two.
2. This was my first remodel, and Siamak was very helpful and patient with answering my questions and helping me pick out all the materials. He also walked me through various options, even if it meant reducing the amount of work.
3. I have been able to provide feedback and get some follow up work done with no issues.

I would definitely recommend their services, and will likely use their expertise for future projects.

I asked Siamak for helping checking a potential bathroom/garage leakage as well as replacing patio door. He’s quite responsive and offered inspection & estimate real quick. Also he offer several options for the project and walked me through details for my questions and concerns. Price was fair and quality is good. Would recommend and reuse for future home projects :)

CHC has done several construction projects for me over the past several years. The projects have included: a kitchen remodel, a bathroom remodel, a sunroom addition, removing an interior chimney, installing windows and painting the entire interior of my house. Siamak and his crew do such outstandi g work, at reasonable prices that I don't even bother getting other estimates anymore. Siamak has always been fair and honest and his crew polite and trustworthy. I would defi nitely recommend CHC.
